Hyderabad - City Of Rocks

Some cities are lucky to have a soul. It could be history or its evidence left behind by man made edifices. But Hyderabad has something far more precious, it has a piece of earth history in every inch of it. Built on the 2500 million granite beds of the Deccan plateau, Hyderabad is the city of rocks.
As times have changed and the city is turning into a fast growing metropolis. The people of Hyderabad are torn between preserving this valuable heritage and providing housing for the ever growing population.
This film is a voice of the various people of Hyderabad who are convinced that this will be just another city without its rocks and everything within their power should be used to preserve them. Some are crusaders, some government figures, officials, some are adventure buffs. Every one of them finds their own argument to save the rocks

These kind of a formation is a wonder for the whole human race and dates back to millions of years.
Some of the formation are really funny and interesting.
Save them and pave the way for coming generations to know about the rich rock legacy of the deccan

Our rocks were here 2,500 million years before us . Doesn’t that give them a primordial right to stay on ? We cannot mindlessly blast them out of the way on our march to ‘modernity ‘ . They are as much part of our culture as the language , cuisine and couture of Hyderabad . Rocks must continue to live in our urbanscape .

With rocks disappearing, I believe the temperatures are arising. These rocks absorb heat specially ground heat keeping the surrounding cool. It's sad to see them crushed by land sharks and greedy politicians. Kokapet mountain was once our kite flying joint but now its all gone.
