As a spellcaster with realm of magic, when you learn a certain spell, you can duplicate items for free. Works great with like duplicating rose plants or other expensive items

I had a sim in my legacy own a bakery and whenever they were running low on money instead of opening the shop I would just bake a bunch of éclairs, decorate them, then sell them. Doing that made more money than the bakery ever could have.
It bothers me a lot that, when you turn on the "Simple Living" lot challenge, the ice cream machine isn't affected. You just make ice cream regardless. ICE CREAM IS LITERALLY SUGAR, MILK, AND EGGS. Does the sims team not care at all about the early DLC?
While you can get rich quick with the cupcake machine, it isn't viable for rags to riches on it's own due to how much the cupcake machine actually costs and the size of the damn thing since you'd have to build a room specifically to accommodate it so it's more of a late game money boom then an early on scheme.
You should definetly build a Dream House for Stanley. He has gone through so much Trouble, He deserves it. Maybe find him a Hotdog wife and Start a Hotdog Dynasty

I play a lot of Sims 4 and if you have the Extreme Violence mod, there's an option under Deadly Interactions to rip someone's heart out and you can sell it for 10,000 simolians a piece, it even works on ghosts. If you wanna play it that way and give your Sims a bad reputation that is.

I was playing in Sulani and I realized that you can search for garbage in the beaches and sometimes you find really expensive artifacts (I found a 800 simoleons one) so I think it can be kind of fun to give it a try as a rag to riches.
The most expensive thing you can sell by baking is SimCity tart sims waste a lot of money, I have a Bakery in my game and they spend like 4000- 7 000 simoleons for them
I wonder if you can sell those on the selling table for the same price? Because then you can put 300% markup on it... 3000 simoleons eclairs for just a couple of hours of yard sale lol

I downloaded the Ravasheen mod that turns the cupcake machine into a piping bag that makes very cute clutter on kitchen counters and it is AMAZING!
