@Mayelle PERRIN you can't see it from the house but it's maybe map wise 150-200 yards northwest of the house. There's a grave there so it's marked as a grave when you discover it

I found this house while searching for ancient tresure map 1 in the middle of the night! Scared the shit out of me, also close to the treasure was a dead body hanging from a branch..I swear im not gonna do treasure hunt in night time ever again
I was looking for that treasure today and found the hanging fella but also found a different cabin with a dead hermit (he was twitching and moving very odd but I assume that was a bug) but I completely missed this place :oo
If you visit the house at night you can hear steps a cracking piece of wood and somebody running away

Go to almost the top right of the map just inside the woods just above the huge pond. There's a dragon's lair...

@@drordvir6284 so go up to about the top right of the map. There's a creek that feeds the huge pond, stay on the left side of it. Stay by the creek and once you get in the woods go north. It's very close to the creek. There's a big rock cluster surrounded by skeletons and a dead horse..,

I just visited this house and at least in my game there was a sack which i could loot. In it was a the preserver potion which lengthens the time food is fresh, making it an even darker secret.

So, i investigated a bit and when you go on the path up the stream nearby(right on top of the waterfall-ish thing) you see a cross with the name Florian on it, i continued following the path and it led me to a half-burned and ravaged house with stained blood and boots on a trunk. If that wasn't inriguing and suspicious enough, while going down the stream, there was a whole human rib cage just scattered. It really got my blood pumping, i searched for any poachers nearby, but the closest one was too far away to be the murderer. So i set up camp, near the Florian cross and decided to go to investigate in Rattay. While going there, i encountered a cart accident, just below the town. The strange thing was that ther was an intricately deformed human skull on one of the scattered parts. I waited for the night and then snuck into the Ratthaus and searched for the Rattay Black Chronicle. When i got there, i realised i don't know how to read. It was a real struggle trying to figure out the words, but i eventually did it(with google's help of course lol). On one of the pages the chronicles were about a murderer, called Martin The Stag and his helper Jan Masar. They started off just robbing merchants, but their need for money quickly escalated to a need for blood and gore. They started devouring pregnant women, extraxting and butchering their fetuses, gutting and cooking them for, according to Martin The Stag's testimony " to keep them long in their eviloding". They of course got punished with the most gruesome of executions, but the intruguing part about it was that Jan screamed he was guiltless, till his very last breath. The interesting bit was written in the next page tho. It was about a woman, Anna Zuorena of Strazhovitz, who testified she killed her child and husband with the help of her unfound neighbour Jan Kotsin.
Now my theory is the following: the gruesome murderer is both Jan Kotsin and Jan Masar, but at the same time he's neither. He adopted a fake personality of a guiltless person called Jan Masar(that's why he was sceaming) and got away with it. The next thing he did was was help Anna Zuorena, a woman he fell in love with, by killing her husband Florian in her forest house(not the one in Strazhovitz). I believe he was never her neighbour, but yet again was hiding under a fake identity, hence he was never found(at least till now). After he got denied by her, "Jan" somehow snitched to the Rattay officials and burned down her forest house, located near his gutting mansion, spilling her chilfren or Florian's ribcage down the stream. The deformed skull near Rattay shows that it wasn't the only cruel act he did.
So i needed just one last clue to for sure identify the murderer. I asked the Rattay archery master to organise a competition for the finest archers in the fiefdom in order to see whos a good hunter. Two people came...he was one of them. The first was huntsman Berthold, but due to recent conversations and activities with him, i was sure he was a good man and was here befoe the incidents happened. The other man was exactly who i was suspecting tho - the Rattay tailor...It all made sense: He was the person from Rattay with best understanding of human anatomy, the pair of boots found on that trunk, the big amount of cloth in his forest killing barrack, his daily behaviours being sometimes questionable(he opens the shop very late and closes early, he also sometimes isn't there in his working hours, leaving the shop to his trader assitant, with him nowhere to be found) and his strangely unclean hunting sword, which he carries all the time...It was all clear to me...i waited for the night to go and strangle him in his sleep. As i was about to do it, he woke up and started fighting me(making noise as well). He was good at warfare and actually slept with his hunting sword(another clue). I killed him, but it was too late, the guard was already called upon me. I quickly looted him and the interesting thing was that he had unspecified offal in his inventory. Everything was checked, my deed was done, my misssion was accomplished, but the whole of Rattay wanted me dead. I fled by the skin of my teeth, but i knew i did the right thing and avenged for all the people this disgusting and cruel man killed and gutted in cold blood.
So yeah that was my epic role play unlikely story/theory lol
Actually I spotted him a few times walking near the Rattae forest in early mornings and nights. But, milord, I'm not a kind person as you are, so I use these chances for robbing him not being punisher

I remember a quest where you help the executioner from rattan with foiling another one’s plans, anyways the 3 men being executed were murderes and serial killers, maybe it’s connected.
I just found this last week, Doing my first hardcore break through and stubbled across it following one of the treasure maps. I didn't notice the body bags in the bottom. I high tailed it out of there rather quickly as it was getting dark, I might have to go back
I can't help but wonder, some of the areas and sites that are left "unexplained" haunt me. I love this game.

There are some similiarities however, that's what makes an excellent game, that gets you thinking and wondering...

the talmberg huntsman is more than willing to lie and kill for his position, wouldnt fit with location but he definitely would as a person.

On a slightly related note, XBOX users! They added the simpler lockpicking setting! Some people still go on about how hard it is.. but in the settings there is an option to change it to a different system! Enjoy! It made the game completely playable on console with only graphical issues flaring up here and there.

I think those two ladies were the killers, they lived in that cabin. Side Note: The Joy of Gutting is similar to the book title The Joy of Cooking, which also could be a reference to Hannibal Lecter. Notice how the rope bundle is on the body of the woman on the first floor as if she was carrying it when she died? There's an identical rope bundle nearby, the same rope used to bind the wrapped bodies. Are those the bodies of men? I'm aware that this theory is insane. Just thought I'd share. Found un-marked grave me being a ... fun time henry ... always dug up graves getting Grochen, weapons, armours so i was hoping for more due to being a grave so i was giddy. However this one was cool cause had a body with a stake in the chest really cool Easter/Homage to Vampires i guess ... also was a fresh one so maybe the hunter still out there but eh had Grochen a few items but still cool

Not quite accurate on the rigor mortis comment, it can start within just two to four hours after death and stops at around 72 hours, so unless that cadaver was getting its stiffness from a board under the wrapping, it was probably very recently deceased.

No, the bigger mystery in kcd is that you can literally kill thousands of innocents, and in Sasau you can do the same, BUT they won't execute you! You can also steal from the King, from the poor, the church, and when you get caught, it's only 10 years in jail... Like wtf don't you execute Henry??? And after that... When you get The Quest Madonna of Sasau, first of all, your sins cost only like 1,2k grochen, and then YOU CAN DEFEND JOHANKA IN COURT LIKE WTF IM OUT
Ikr? It becomes especially aparent when you do the money for old rope quest. Reading the crimes you notice that Henry barely gets a 200 groschen fine for what others get literally hang. I know I know, (Spoiler)
He is the bastard son of Radzig, and he might get treated better by the authorities, but you even see that a noble gets executed during the quest.

It's pretty contained by the intestines. You also hose out the insides after pulling out the organs and whatnot, if a hose is available.

It was probably Henry, pissed that they made a half baked game and instead of having a resolution they just brought out shit DLC and in his rage took up a hobby of extreme metal gauntlet fisting.
I still haven’t found anything yet about the stew in the pot. But I sure do love it. I wake up and eat from pot. I eat from pot because when I get hungry, I get mad and I fornicate. I’m sorry Father Godwin, but I fornicate a lot because I get hungry a lot. One time I got so hungry, I fornicated with Lady Stephanie. Then I went off in search of a pot to eat from. Once I found the pot I ate from it, but I was still hungry so I went to Rattay at night and broke into his shop. I killed him and his family before I took all Sweet Pancakes and Milk. I then took the bodies and put it in pot to give it the excellent meaty flavor.
After eating from pot, I tracked down Runt and we had gay sex because I got hungry on the way there and if you think he has a big stick in his hand, he has an even bigger stick down below. I then killed him while he was sleeping and used his body for more stew. That’s all for now. I still need to find father’s sword and hopefully I don’t get hungry around him. Goodbye and maybe one day I’ll come to see you.
