Incorrect My Friend, Chicago Police does not use the federal signal PA 640, from 1996 until 2004 they used Federal Signal Touchmaster Unitrol TM4 Sirens on their marked patrol cars & Whelen 295HFSA sirens on their unmarked vehicles, after 2005 till present they use Code 3 Mastercomb B, Federal Signal SmartSiren, and the most recent Soundoff Signal Blueprint siren, which is basically the sirens Chicago Police have been using since 1995

Why Chicago police don’t use the hi-lo anymore? That’s rare and different to hear
So I believe they follow California law. Hi-lo is not recognized as an emergency siren.
