It was a MONSOON out there! What a game, a true NCS Classic. Pittsburg had it… That pick that turned into a fumble was devastating, 15 looked down but refs saw it differently. 7-3 midway through the 4th when that call went that way and Pitt couldn’t shake it, and gave up a killer late TD drive with no answer. De La was literally giving the game away and they couldn’t capitalize. They did bounce back the following week to take the NCS D1 title against SRV and I’m juiced to see them against Folsom! Hope you guys make it out to that matchup! Great work as always!
i really hope youre saying it was a monsoon type of game not the weather because that is not a monsoon by any means, that wave of dust that hit central cali a few weeks ago was a monsoon. its literally a wave a dust/rain/anything the wind can pick up...thats a monsoon buddy
@@joshmo7651 For Pleasant Hill, CA that was a MONSOON! Lol Weather stifled these high-powered offenses no question. Hell of a game, kinda wish we could get to see both squads line-up in fairer-weather conditions, because entering the game Pitt was averaging like 400+ yds and 30+ points a game if I'm not mistaken. As for De La, well, we all know they can light up a score board as well.
De La Salle, is still a great program, Bosco and Mater Dei just caught up, and passed them. They might have a chance if it is raining and it's in No Cal.
The success comes from how on point the oline is. They have to be in unison for it to be successful. Good communication when they get to the line, good getoff , and having the correct footwork
Coach Lara always had problems and lost against DLS veer offenses even when his poly teams were as stacked as current mater dei. But he has much much better assistant coaches this time around
Against this MD team, DLS could run a different offense every drive, it's not going to matter. MD is 2-3 deep talent wise at every position on both sides of the ball whereas DLS might have a couple of those type of players. With MD this defense, it might actually be a shutout.
@ Its not trash but wont work against MD. There definitely needs to be more of a pass option which the veer/ option they run doesnt offer an effective version.
That was NOT a fumble on the Pittsburg INT. The guy was down. Refs blew that call. And the veer in today's game is way out of date. Kids don't want to play in the veer.
Stop you’re crying you Folsom girls are always complaining. Just be grateful that you get to play an extra game with a team that’s similar to your level. You Sacramento Queens always find ways to bitch and cry. DLS is NorCals top team
Folsom needed to beat the defending Open Champs in Serra earlier this year. I do believe that they have gotten better since that game, but De La went undefeated and put a thumping on Serra when they matched up this year. Pittsburg's only loss prior to their matchup with De La was against Bosco, and they hung in that game for 3 qtrs. I think the Folsom v Pitt game is going to be a MOVIE! Might need to start making some trips to The Bay Area and So-Cal in order to bolster up that league schedule they play up there in Nor-Cal though. No shade at all, but when you're blowing out teams by 30-40+, time to schedule some contenders week in and week out. The only contender they played this year was Serra and they lost at home; Serra didn't even make their section championship this year. California HS Football has been on 🔥 this year! MD is a whole different beast.. truly in a league of their own tbh.
@@DublRR91True on Folsom scheduling. I think they and DLS should just schedule MD and SJB in the preseason. That way they can get a gauge of the speed and depth the SoCal teams. DLS and Folsom could lose to MD or SJB and still cruise to state title games. I think Serra scheduled Bosco this year , along with Pitt.
@@marcvslicinivscrassvs7536 I agree with DLS scheduling at least 2 Trinity League Matchups a year minimum. Folsom should try and get some big name Central and So-Cal non-league games on the schedule too. They can try for some Trinity League matchups too, but seeing them against Mission Viejo, Cen10, Liberty (Bakersfield), Clovis East or Central (Fresno) would be just as good and maybe a better starting point to introduce these intersection matchups.

@@DublRR91 you sound like a weirdo with the way you type 💀
Gotta give probs to De La Salle. They’ve been in the mix for 35 years.
like doing the SAME thing too… they never switch that offense up.
It's almost like they recruit illegally or something.
Most private schools do recruit.
They recruit most of their best players are form the Pittsburg or Antioch area
Pitt almost did what the '91 team did, but came up short.....
De La Salle, is still a great program, Bosco and Mater Dei just caught up, and passed them. They might have a chance if it is raining and it's in No Cal.
Glad those cheaters been getting exposed by losing. All those records were because of their recruiting advantages.
I didn’t know De La Salle is still running the Veer Offense. That’s old school stuff.
Might throw MD off with it. I said “might” 😂😂😂

Excellent high school football athleticism , across the board ! Great game !
#20 pitt holdin' it downnnn, intro tuff brudda
Why didn’t this game eliminate Pittsburgh? They were still able to play SRVHS and Folsom after this playoff loss
Good luck De La Vs Mater Dei next week.
Mater Dei 40
De La 7 🤣😂🤙🏾
You’re being generous. 42-0
‘Ouaaaaa 😂

MD has the best defense ever GL
Was here from the 5’7 QB with big arm post. Bro has a big arm but no accuracy. Also you don’t slide as a QB in high school ball. You run threw them
They don't stand a chance against MD
@@peteryang5331 Anything can happen on Saturday night
Mater dei is the best team in the Country
It’s 2024 and they’re still running this trash formation. Absolutely no chance against MD
I dont care if they ran Andy Reid’s offense, they aint beating Mater Dei

There is a reason that the veer is still a thing. Not a trash formation though

That's why they are not what they were until they join the modern football world going to be an also ran nationally

SoCal ball is the best in the nation.. MD will Smash them!!!
i could coach pitt to win against de la
My honest assessment is that this DLS team just might be a D2 team in the Southern Section but barely.
Should be Folsom. No team up here has a shot though.

Coaching lost this game for Pittsburgh.
Not really. DLS was sloppy af too. Weather plays a factor sometimes
