4:46 'The Hold button can be configured to work as an on/off switch ("toggle") or a momentary switch ("gate") through the Arturia MIDI Control Center software' (Microlab manual, I had to look it up;)
Surprisingly it's not that much cheaper than the MiniLab Mk2. Mobility-wise it's the best on the market - I would easily give up all of the controls for the availability of using this with an iOS device when travelling
Thank you for review. I am checking this keyboard to buy and have found in manual, that Hold button can be reprogrammed to act as sustain pedal. Would be interested to see video about configuration possibilities through Arturia Midi Center
I like the simplicity of this one. But what I really like is the fact you can change midi channels on the keyboard. I plan on using this as part of a mobile hardware setup (Novation Circuit & 1010 BlackBox) so that’s really important to me. Is the build quality as good as on the KeyStep you reviewed? They’re both contenders at this point but I’m worried about the extra length of the KeyStep.
Looks pretty cool, I may have mentioned this in another video of yours...lol. This would have been nice with 32 keys, and slight controls. I do enjoy their keybeds ,as well. I sold the Keystep32, only because, I found myself using all the features it comes with, but wish it had some controls. I am, too, concerned about the cable...sometimes cables stop working--would that mean you would have to purchase a new device?Or is the cable detachable? Keep up the good work!
I use Cakewalk as my DAW and I love all the sounds I get from analog lab lite but I can't figure out how to get those sounds into a project on my DAW. Can someone help me?? Thanks:)
If it’s like the key step you can change the sustain from latch to momentary in the editor software. Not sure if it has the same options, but throwing that out there in case.
Hi, if I just wanted to create my own drum tracks in reaper using a program like superior drummer or perfect drums, this would do that? Thank you. Ive been recording things for a while now but im very new and inexperienced when it comes to midi controllers. Ive been mapping out my drum tracks note for note using the mouse and its so tedious and time consuming.
size and price to close to novation key step mk 1 and mk 2! I would rather have keystep mk1 than that arturia. keystep mk 2 just blows that arturia out of the water! im getting the novation keystep mk 2 as soon as it hit stores!!
Im a fan of Arturia, I have a Microbrute, a Minibrute, a Beatstep and their software synths for Mac and IOS, but nah....not feeling this one, I really dont like the built in midi cable for starters, if it gets damaged then what? Also I dont like the touch strip for pitch bend and modulation, I never could get into those. Ill stick to my Akai Mpk Mini 2 for my portable controller needs. Plus the Mpk has an input for sustain pedals, pads, knobs to map, arpeggio, it just offers a lot more for only 99 bucks.
and it peels off like... something Great review dude very fun video , in my country is the only one "affordable" , its really cheap, an akaiMPKmini its like 3/4 parts of a GOOD salary. This one is actually costing 100U$S+taxes. Fuck President Macri, pray 4 argentina producer friends.
Maybe...and depending on the keyboard I do...but quite honestly I prefer a raw look at what it does out the box...I like to see how obvious it is to access various features and functions...because quite honestly 98% of people who buy stuff...don’t read the manuals at all...but this keyboard has 4 buttons that are labeled as to what they are...not really much to research into with this one...🤷🏾♂️
@@Johnmike the sliders are very useful with the bundled up software that comes with the microlab, also i think for a beginner(like me) the arturia software is a big plus
Just got this keyboard for a great price. It’s pretty versatile and has much more under the hood than meets the eye.

Yea the build quality is pretty solid...I feel like I could throw this against the wall and it would be ok lol
John Mike I’m laughing but I have 2 boys: 4 & 15 so that could actually happen!!
Cheers for getting back to me dude!
All love!
David Holmes Lol I have 6 kids...3 boys and 3 girls from 8-13!
Helpful review. The rubberised case is putting me off - can it be removed?
Nice reviews, very informative. Can you recommend me a cheap midi keyboard for a beginner?

The cable is detachable
Which software you need?
The only thing that I don't like is the light of the modulation wheel...there isn't!!!
Nice, thoughtful review of a product that's just OK. Personally, I'd spend 20 bucks more and get a controller with LOTS more features.
It's not about features it's about portability..respect your opinion though.. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@u.s.e.r.x. Good point. Could totally throw the Microlab into a backpack and take it anywhere.
@@decastring yeah..
Thanks for the video. Which one would be better between this one, Nektar se25 and akai lpk 25? I need help with choosing between them🙏
I would go with this one
Thanks bro, I ended up buying arturia minilab mk2 It was almost the same price as this one 😂 great video

So isn't good enough for absolute beginners?

@Clayton Arlo definitely, I have been using KaldroStream for since november myself =)
I almost bought one of these but it was only $20 more to get the mk2, so I just went with that instead.
Hi! Keystation Mini 32 Mk3 or this? Not to phased by the pitch/mod stuff.
I would go with the keystation Mini
@@Johnmike The keys are better on the keystation mini?

How can I play for example chord E and Em in the same song? Many thanks!
Analog Lab Lite is where it's at!
Dope video John id love to see a review of Bitwig, if you haven’t already done one
mos def I will soon!
Great Vid Bro! Always trust your Native Instruments Novation Akai Professional Arturia Name Brands Real Bang For Your Buck
i am in doubt between the arturia microlab 25 and the irig keys mini 25 from ik multimedia ... could you help me? thanks.
This one comes with better software for computers...if you are looking to get it for a iPad or iPhone...then go with the irig
@@Johnmike thanks

Orange is the new Black! Good video!
Lol
It looks so compact
Can it work on ableton live like the minilab( the same seting up)
The microlab does work with Ableton but since there’s no clip triggering or control over Ableton it’s not the greatest for ableton
Are the keys better than the Akai LPK25?
I like them better than the LPK
sweet. I would have chosen the orange one as well.

I agree
Next - the Arturia Oneknob; it's one knob that you can assign stuff to. Only $99
Lol

You should have a glance at a manual before doing a review as you just seemed clueless to the functionality.

how much is that
@john mike we need a review on the Hammond b x3 from ik multimedia
Coming soon...hopefully this week
I bough this controller brand new, and it came defective. DON'T BUY THIS THING!
Just claim the warranty and not just commenting it here. LOL
Just cause you got a bad one doesn't mean you have to flame arturia on every video lol
No entiendo inglés es bueno o malo
