Cold dish was a valid complain, but hating on fish sauce and sambal? Girl, wake up, you are just not up for southeast asian cuisine, these are the essence of most southeast asian dishes.

You should appreciate and respect her honesty , in fact fish sauce and sambal smell like smelly unwashed socks because of the fermented protein of the seafood in it, just as Vieux Boulogne cheese in France. She has every right to state her opinion and not to be influenced by others on social media. Just because some foreigners claimed that sambal, fish sauce and durian are good , it doesn't mean everybody on this planet will agree with that positive opinion. Taste is a very subjective and personal issue.

Well I've eaten there and it was awesome. Some food probably didn't go well with her taste buds but most Asians are very used to it. I really doubt she was honest at all.. 🤣🤣 coming from her, nah next .

How couldn't she even compare to Gordon Ramsay when this restauran is just a normal restaurant only. She really doesn't know how to compare. I don't see her honesty here .. she done move along... The location is indeed very expensive, but the food should be much better given the price and setting. We've eaten at various places in Pavilion, from the underground food court to other restaurants, and never encountered issues like this before. During one of our live streams, we visited Paris Baguette with our followers and also had an unpleasant experience there

As a Malaysian, i can say you're Malaysianised. Respect to Uncle Roger's investors for seeing opportunity and this will indeed be a tourist attraction (trap). But he has his fan base. Malaysians won't go here for the food lah, i doubt Uncle Roger would himself la if he had a choice.
Get your good share of Malay food everywhere else in Ampang, can try Hening KL, Hidang KL and Sudu (Behind RISDA building) all in Ampang area.
Or otherwise for everyday good Malaysian food just head to your closes Q Bistro outlet for your nasi lemak, nasi goreng, oxtail soup, roti canai, etc.
Should also try go on the train routes one day. I come from Subang Jaya, we have loads of typical Subang food as well, can take a stop at lrt ss15 station or at Taipan lrt stop. There's Huang in ss17 for good shaved soya iced desserts for good value.
For typical local style seafood dinner outing like locals head to Lala Chong. There's an outlet in Ara Damansara.

Definitely, not so honest la. If you can see all the food is there at the same time and not touch. Fry noodle is hot. They waited for all the food to arrive. In super strong AC, within a few minutes, the food might be cold. Bandung la is not with carnation milk, if you look at the colour of the milk, it's not very pink. So, it's done with fresh milk and rose syrup.

@voyagesdiary I doubt that concept can work because malaysians on average, earn between 700 to 1000usd per month. Gdp per capita is just 13k usd per year on average. Even when they get certificate for halal to bring in malays or muslims, still too expensive. The famous Damascus shawarma is less than 20 ringgit. There are also Muslim Chinese buns (pau) or restaurants at chinatown which do not break the bank for a family of 4. Malays usually are cost conscious, so they will eat at kampung baru. As a Chinese malaysian, I will probably eat at ICC Pudu which has a wide variety of Chinese food at the food court. Or even food courts at malls are quite good.

The price thing should just go out of the window, it's pavi. that is soft compared to other foods in there
The price per quality tho, is a different thing. yes, it definitely got issues. I don't think there's ever a complaint about the foods being cold before. this is the first. could be a mistake or something. unless we see a pattern I won't comment further
The taste, obviously won't be THE absolute best. he's not even a chef in a first place. he's still very young in this culinary business world. small details like the hard rice and stuff could be from cooking it in a huge wok, so the heat and texture won't be equally nice.
Finally, I think this would be more acceptable in other countries like in the west. cause the culture and standards ain't the same for fried rice. in Malaysia, it's a basic food with options everywhere. you can't helped to compare it with others with lower price

My mom had asked for less salt in one of the dishes, and instead of adding less salt, I believe they took her words to add more salt somehow…(for further confirmation regarding the salty rice, my dad tried it too and completely agrees that it was more salty than his normal fried rice) and the prices in the menu, they’re outrageous!!

Still nowhere near all time best from Super Noodle House (RM5 [give it 200% more on inflation for today's pricing]) back in the old days. Wish this restaurant is still around. Go to the Indian one at Boustead Food Court (entrance via Lorong Ceylon, lift to 8th floor just next to car park entrance) around 7.30am. You will be shocked at the taste for RM4. @@voyagesdiary It will be a very long post sharing all of it. Here is some.
Medan Selera Boustead (Boustead Food Court) - Still Bukit Bintang area. Wisma Boustead located opposite of Holiday Inn Express. Unfortunately, only staff is allowed for front entrance at Jalan Raja Chulan side. Back entrance is available for outsiders. Entrance via Lorong Ceylon, Wisma Boustead car park block. Lift to 8th floor just next to car park entrance. Indian for both breakfast (7.30am+) and lunch (12pm+). Chinese for lunch. Indian sells some noodle dishes, fried rice and some toppings (don't forget the sambal) for breakfast. Mixed rice for lunch. Chinese sells a variety of soup with rice (ABC soup that has carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, onions and chicken is my favorite), claypot chicken rice, hotpan noodles and some dishes. Opens only on working days. Also, there is chinese temple next to this building that sells chinese mixed rice for lunch. Opens on Monday to Thursday (working days only).
Nasi Lemak - This one is easy. You can find it with google map and Grab. Wanjo at Kampung Baru and Village Park at Damansara Utama, Uptown (quite a distance away, it is available on Grab Food though) . There is also East Malaysian dishes like Nasi Kerabu and Nasi Dagang from Kak Som restaurant just at opposite side of Wanjo.
Tempoyak (Fermented durian. Usually served with catfish) - Kak Nik Patin House at Jalan Klang Lama (also called Old Klang Road). Try Gulai (a type of curry) Patin Tempoyak for lighter, Pais Patin (BBQ catfish with tempoyak sambal) for stronger taste. This food can be controversial due to durian as one of the ingredients and it can be very spicy.
The rest is Nyonya (Peranakan) food, Chinese Muslim mee tarik (pulled noodles). I'm refreshing my own list again for KL city area due to many old timers are gone. Unless you are fine with pricey restaurants that is overpriced but still good. Madam Kwan and Tea Garden are the examples. Cantonese noodles from Madam Kwan is great and dry mee siam from Tea garden is addictive. Both can be found at Pavilion KL. I heard ICC Pudu got some great food. Chicken rice balls is one of them. There are some Michelin star restaurants too. Some of the shops on other districts of KL if you are fine with traveling here and there.

I get egg fried rice, on top the egg is hot, the rice underneath is cold. Totally no wok hei. They probably use a too big plate with small amount of fried rice, then wait for egg to fry and slap on top expecting it to warm the entire plate of rice. Mind you I went during peak hour instead of the early opening hours.

I feel like its the problem with Mr Beast, when Beast Burger came out, the burgers were raw because they were getting order after order, and of course it’s only been 2 weeks but of course you also have to consider staff, and cooks, the cooks can be beginners for all we know, so of course I’d say give it time, and also some are sellouts, Roger is new to the business ring, so give it time, he’ll adapt and also speed had the thing shut down because of his fans, so of course he probably got it warm because the kitchen wasn’t handling a whole lot, and who complains on sold out stuff, of course the brownie and ice cream will have ice cream because it’ll be lesser and easier, and of course it’s handling with rush hours so people maybe order more of one sauce then the other, and also who compares comedian to pro chef

But we didn’t like his restaurant. If we think something is bad, we’ll say it’s bad. If we think it’s good, we’ll say it’s good. Check out our other Malaysia eating videos-everyone gets their fair share of reviews. If you do want to try it, we suggest avoiding Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

    • @voyagesdiary

Thank you for watching. Sometimes people assume that paying more means better quality, but that's not always the case. Just because something is expensive doesn't mean it brings more value. It’s about finding the balance between cost and quality, and sometimes a cheaper product can be just as good or better if it meets your needs. Always look for why something is priced the way it is before deciding!

So sorry as Malaysian this is disappointing, Fried Rice should never be served cold, it's always fried fresh upon order and it will definitely taste bad the moment it becomes cold especially when there is aircon it gets even colder than room temperature 🥶. In fact for us it is allowed to cancel the order or request waiter to remake a new one if a dish supposed to be hot yet served cold. I think Uncle Roger didn't plan on the outcome much in terms of management. A lot of chinese restaurants have workers who works extremely fast and from the video the staff looks kinda overwhelmed and not working as fast thus the food gets cold so quick in serving delay. Definitely needs more staff and manager to keep track of speed.
