I'd say this film is a dark dystopian thriller/drama. The comedy tag is more subjective, not definitive in this case. But I think that's the appeal of this film - the fact that it cannot easily be labelled or categorized under a specific genre is what compelled me to watch it. That, and the fact that it stars Jesse Eisenberg as the lead role.

Richard Ayoade is a very intelligent man, but I have to be honest this film was super tiring to watch. It felt more like some quirky art thing that only other film nerds could appreciate. I appreciate films having a lot of thought put into them of course, and The Double clearly did have that, but this film just depressed me. Richard and Jesse talking about the film is more entertaining than the film itself. Basically it's one of those films that is well made, but still sucks, if you know what I mean.
