Thank you so much! I’m 10 years old and don’t know how to swim, I’m going to learn with my class on Thursday and I got worried because my hair wouldn’t fit in the cap :). This definitely works!
Thanks for this tutorial. Doing my 1st indoor pool swim and wearing a cap for the 1st time with my very long hair. I feel confident to put the cap on now.
Thanks so much! Very helpful. I have also been wetting my hair and adding a pre-conditioner (acqua Guard) and it has helped a ton. My hair has been tangle free and I have long, tangle prone hair so that has been a plus. LOL - your comment about the cone head was cute.
Thanks so much! Really helped me do it first time where other vids I had so many more problems! Thought I'd be stuck swimming with long hair in my way forever! Thank you again!
I am glad this is helping people and I think you are great at doing it, and it looks normal and even good at the end! I have such a hard time getting used to the cap(i have sensory issues), and I am currently wearing it while working from home, just to get used to it. I always have it when I arrive at the pool but I end up braiding my hair and not wearing it. I want to protect my hair from the pool 3 times a week! I'm inspire to not give up ;)
What does she mean by getting your hair wet before putting the cap on for protection? I'm starting to swim to try and get healthy. So I bought a swim cap to not expose my hair to chlorine everyday? Idk if that's actually a thing either lol. Tia! Any tips help :)
Misha Willie you can wet your hair in the showers first or fill your cap up in the sink - if you wanna get it wet first. Just a preference, if it works okay for you without then awesome keep doing what you’re doing...
This is a nice. Thank you! ☺️ What pre-swim hair conditioner would you suggest? 🙏🏻 I have trouble with that, cause even if I wet my hair, it’s not enough.
We are patners with www.sbrsportsinc.com/index.html and recco their TRISWIM products. Or try a conditioner with little to no smell as you can taste it in the water after you put it on before your cap...so keep that in mind.
Does it help prevent the water from getting inside of the cap? I really want to swim but afraid of dealing with wet hair everytime, since my hair is very unmanageable.
Mine always seems to slip off after a while, am I doing something wrong? I pull it down as far as I can but I always end up ditching it and swimming with hair in my face 😓
Hi, thank you for reaching out. The best method to keeping the cap from sliding back/off is to pull it down on your forhead when you put it on. Another thing to consider is not having anything grease on your hir before placing the cap on your head. Hope these two tips help!
I was told my ears have to be inside but I do that and my ear keeps folding like in half what do I do ???? And i have baby hairs in the back that don’t go in
Having your ears in or out is a personal choice. If you do put them under the cap, put the entire cap on first and then pull the cap away from your head right where your ear is with one hand and push your entire ear against your head with the other hand. Then, gently let the cap squeeze against your head again. For Silicone and Latex caps, the above method should work. If you use, Lycra or another fabric, your ears will probably keep bending. Baby hairs are not going to always fit so let them hang and don't worry too much about it :)
Hi, thanks for the tutorial. Today I wore swimming cap before watching your tutorial. I don't have very long hair as yours but bleached hairs I have. So, I tied my hair and made a little bunny back of my head then put on the cap, but my hair was all wet afterwards. Is it because of I tied my hair? Isn't it supposed to be all dry afterwards, or did I misunderstood the function of the cap? Thanks
Hi, thanks for reaching out regarding your follow-up on our "How to Put on a Swim Cap" video. So, your hair will still get wet under a swim cap, but it won't get tangled. A swim cap helps with a barrier against the chemicals in the pool. If you don't have a lot of hair, using a tie is completely fine. I would recommend spraying your hair with some leave-in conditioner before putting on the cap if you have treated hair. Also, make sure to use try-out TRISWIM shampoo and conditioner to help get the pool chemicals like Chlorine out of your hair after you are done swimming. That way, your hair won't turn green or orange after you swim.
Thanks a bunch! I'm on swim team and when I compete and practice It took me forever to put my swim cap on, I didn't want to cut my hair short so..THANKSSSS!
Blue Skies less drag in the water, so it's easier to swim faster. If I didn't wear a cap, it would probably add four or five seconds on to my time, which is A LOT
@@mylesthomasandfriends838 No, gymnasts compete in gymnastics and don't swim very often. Swimmers, triathletes, open water swimmers, syncro-swimmers, and water polo players do swim very often.
I Never, EVER place my hair dry into my swim cap...the cap will ruin your hair AND so will the chemicals!!! Get your hair wet girls... when my hair is wet it’s much easier to place it in my cap!
Thanks for that! I just watched the video. In reading thru the comments, I was wondering if it is harder to put on the cap with wet hair. Plus I didn't know/consider about the cap and chemicals affecting hair.
Chlorine can damage your hair in extended use. However, if you get your hair wet before swimming, use a pre-swim conditioner or cover it in a cap, that will greatly help. We have not seen this technique damage hair at all. Happy swimming!
That's an okay way but it would get really tangled if the whole time you're just "shoving it in there". A better way would be to have a ponytail flipped over your head and put it on that way, or just do a bun and pull it over
Why not just put it in a ponytail/bun first? At least that’s what I do. Trying to shove hair in results in unnecessary effort, creating tangles a breakage too.
Hi, swim caps do help prevent damage done by chemicals in the water. They also help prevent tangles in your hair. But, the most important reason to wear a swim cap is to be more hydrodynamic in the water in order to swim with less resistance.
Thank you. I love that in today's world we can learn how to do anything right.

.
My hair is too short to put it up in an actual pony tail, and my hair is too long to put in a swim cap normally so i do this way.
