Fanya Mambo Kinuthia was not urging us not to pay taxes; rather, he is supporting boundaries and deadlines. Either CT Muga did not listen to Fanya Mambo Kinuthia closely, or he purposefully presented ignorance. You forced him to say it twice. The president cannot simply wake up and start taxing Kenyans more heavily.

That sense of ownership sometimes even made me chose 24% tax. Introduce functional analysts and actuarist into these tax issues an dgive kenyans options-that would be the best way forward.

He says hilarious, petty things about the Govt manifesto 😄, things I would never expect an educated adult male to say. But it's his self centered middle class rants about buying his kids luxuries that takes the cake, but how about the jobless youth in the slums who has to turn to crime to feed his family? Lest we forget, housing was a centerpiece of both manifestos, we should focus on addressing the needs of those struggling rather than trivializing their plight.

But since we need to pool resources to get certain things done we have to find an acceptable fraction of our income to give towards KNOWN common objectives.
And 20% is an acceptable number because it has worked in many other countries. And it guarantees that you will keep at least 3 quarters of you pay that you worked for.

I get his point of view. The majority of tax should be from indirect taxes which is directly related to the Country's productivity (case in point Germany & Mercedes Benz). Gvt creates a conducive environment for businesses, business thrives, gvt gets more taxes from Corporate taxes and VAT on the sold products. In Kenya PAYE collection at Shs 494 million is double VAT collection which means the 3% in employment are proper enslaved.

When you have three salaried presenters who are finding it difficult to follow the logic that direct taxes are unfair, then we clearly do not have any hope here, we will be taxed to death.

So the government should not tax you, but you need hospitals built and stoked with medicine , roads to be done, children to go to school, infrastructure in general to be done, but you don't want to pay taxes? this is a lawyer from where? very warped thinking.

The Fanya Mambo guy is indeed quite eloquent in his speech, but it seems that he tends to provide vague and fluffy statements without actually elaborating on his reasoning. This is particularly evident when he was asked to explain his stance on the proposed 20% tax.
It is important for individuals in positions of influence to provide clear and concise explanations for their opinions and decisions. This allows for a better understanding of their reasoning and enables constructive dialogue. By avoiding fluff and providing concrete explanations, we can have more meaningful discussions and make informed decisions. Cloud chaser!

Despite his shortcomings, he's doing something millions of lawyers are scared of doing. How about you get in touch with him, propose your points and see how it goes.
Otherwise it's not prudent to 💩 on someone, call them a clout chaser yet they're busy on their feet doing something for this country's future. What are you doing yourself??

The question is are we fairly taxed or are we over taxed...? Is the taxes collected commiserate with the services and development projects they're intended for?
