What's Siem Reap doing for the water festival? Our friends at For Riel have a video for that! ruclips.net/video/B6-NDKmVKIk/видео.htmlsi=EPKB3PRvyt-OaD3q
Thanks for sharing your video from my beautiful country Cambodia RYAN! I wish I will be there too take care from milton Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 now it's cold in Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
Yes, I went into the foreigner VIP section. Great views of the races, but it felt a bit weird getting the best seat just because I'm a foreigner. We ended up sneaking in a Khmer father and son.
If you’re talking about the Coca Cola boat and Vattanac boat, it basically represents private companies that helps boast the country’s economic. There are of course many other companies but it seems that only those two got to have a boat.
I miss Cambodia! I was there in April during the New Year celebration! Amazing amazing amazing! Im making an effort to visit at least once a year! But honestly i don't miss the hot temperature lol!
Way back in the ealrly 2003, there was a restaurant called Pralork which is to your right as you face the river. It was a high end back then for the foreigners. I was there for one thing on the menu. It was sach ko teuk prahok, steak with prahok dip or sauce. A lot of foreigners don't like prahok. They will change their mind when they sach ko teuk prahok. Letter K is not pronounced like K in the west. It is the third letter or alphabet of Cambodian language.
I love the way they serve grilled beef in Cambodia. The prahok adds a sharp funkiness - almost like steak and blue cheese. Sadly, a lot of the restaurants along the riverside aren't Khmer. To get the really good Khmer food, I go to BKK3.
@itchyfeetonthecheap things have changed. And there are famous lort cha a couple street from the river front. I didn't like because it was full of grease. Cambodians packed those places all the time. There two things I love to eat in general. Grilled beef stick and those huge fresh water prawn with long arms. They are the best of the whole world.
@@therabbitnews9362 we went to the lort cha place for breakfast yesterday! It was good. I actually didn't find it as greasy as when I had it in the past, but yeah... Definitely not the healthiest food.
Comparing the water festival to p a t t a y a, I'm looking to go to Phnom Penh to get away from the craziness is there this madness of water fights in Phnom pen during the April 13th.? Any hotel to recommend you show a balcony looking at the water name of hotel and thank you
So this video is the water festival, which is different from the Khmer New Year, or Songkran in Thailand. During KNY Siem Reap has a lot of water fights, but Phnom Penh isn't as crazy. There will be celebrations, Wat Phnom will have traditional games, probably some fireworks along the river. A few hotel options that overlook the river: TAO Riverside Residence, New Season Riverside Hotel, Angkor Mithona Guest House... I haven't stayed in all these though and don't really know much about them. Good luck.
which hotel were you at? I am teaching at a nursing school this fall and might book a spot on river for 2 days. I do hear there is a prime spot next to royal palace for tourists at the finish line, but nice to see from your room too.
What is 3 years? Cambodia has never had a tradition or festival like this before. This tradition Cambodia copied from neighboring countries. Were you deceived by Cambodians or do you really not know? Or did you accept money from Cambodians to make this clip?
Bruh, do your research. Cambodia has this tradition for a long time but since the pandemic started, we couldn't do this and now that everything is back to normal we're doing it again
@@laifuuuu1 If you research You will know that they never had anything. Because the Khmer culture has been extinct for a long time. This tradition has been influenced by India. We created and developed it until it became our tradition. It has nothing to do with Cambodia. Cambodian people claim everything. To the point that Cambodian people cannot distinguish between what belongs to other people and what belongs to Cambodians. Shameless.

Essential time lapse footage.
The time lapse was the best part of some random moments
Time lapses always are. Those random moments are known as B roll.
Good to see Cambodia coming back to life.
Slowly but surely it's getting it's grove back 🎉
Nice!

The weather has been fantastic recently. The last half of November to the end of January - those are the best months to come here to avoid the heat.
