Being around in SE Asia quite a lot, I find Cambodia a fun place to be, but damn they are stealing a lot! Lol! I remember some thieves using fishing rods through fenced windows to reach valuables in your room! Be careful if your room is on the ground floor! Also they are professional motorbike thieves, so do not only trust your stearing lock. Use a heavy chain extra!

Thanks for making this. I have been travelling for years and have never been robbed. I give you onetrue prime example why people run into trouble abroad. In April/May I was staying in Puerto Escondido Mexico, a small surf town. While I was there, nothing happened to me. I went swimming everyday, invited my daughter down from Canada and she hung out with me for two weeks, we had great food, nice walks in the evening, no issues whatsoever with the very friendly locals. Two weeks in, there was a news story that a Canadian was shot and killed in Puerto Escondido. I was totally unaware of it. The guy stayed in a non-tourist part of town. He went out to a local bar at night, got drunk and started arguing about the bill. That escalated into a fight with locals and eventually he was shot. Quelle surprise! Don't be an ass and use some common sense and this will never happen to you. I am living proof - have been to 106 countries, 6 continents, 16 years of travel experience, zero issues. I am in Bangkok now and have spent months in SE Asia. You really have to be stupid, insensitive, naive, an asshole, a criminal or a combination threrof to get into trouble in SE Asia, one of the friendliest and safest parts of the world. I really don't feel sorry for these idiots.

I'm currently in the middle of my second visit to Cambodia. First time, I arrived in Phnom Penh and had booked a taxi from the airport to my hotel, as part of the hotel booking deal. I had one big bag and two smaller bags with me. I left one of the smaller bags in the taxi when I arrived at my hotel. It had a couple of "backup" credit cards (locked from use) plus some $US cash. I got in touch with the taxi company and the driver delivered the bag to me the next morning, with everything in it. I got lucky, for sure. But I also got the benefit of coming into contact with some good people. Edit 25/12/2023 ... Feeling less than chirpy this Christmas day. Was standing at side of road with phone in hand, booking a Grab, and two guys on a scooter flew past me ... the passenger guy whipped the phone right out of my hand. Sh*t happens.

HER PUB IS NOT SHABY PUB AS SEXUAL STUFFS, it just pub & waitress talking to you friendly, they’re working not sold their body!! He think the pub is polite, fun & trustful. Next day he go back, this time he drink alots & bill skyrocket!! When he drunk m, waitress lady & owners (my sister friends) SAYING BARTENDER NOT SOLD WINE FOR HIM ANYMORE!! Because she look the bill it’s was 12 million VND (494$). He’s angry mad & blood boiling screaming “you look down on me?? You look down on me not sold wine for me?? You think I’m poor? You think I can’t paying?? Bullshit, bla…bla..” At that day, the security man is have sick & he’s off. The guy to take care of motorbike is eldery man & don’t speak English. I had my wallet taken three times in the 8 years I've been here in Cambodia. First time I was careless, second time I was careless, and third time I was careless. Replacing my passport twice was a bit of a nightmare too, especially with all the run arounds the different police districts were giving me the second time. Only money brings justice here. I don't bring my passport with me anymore unless it's absolutely necessary.

The well-dressed man and woman claimed I owed them FORTY DOLLARS for beer. No human being could drink forty dollars worth of beer in one night in Cambodia. I had my wallet taken three times in the 8 years I've been here in Cambodia. First time I was careless, second time I was careless, and third time I was careless. Replacing my passport twice was a bit of a nightmare too, especially with all the run arounds the different police districts were giving me the second time. Only money brings justice here. I don't bring my passport with me anymore unless it's absolutely necessary.

Also I wouldn't call here dangerous per se, but it's not like some countries where if you accidentally drop something or leave something behind someone will hold onto it or turn it in for you. Thieves are quick too 😆. The last time I realized within 2 minutes it was missing, but it was too late.
