I must have fallen off the world when I stopped listening to OMD, then a few years ago I "re-discovered' them and the love affair, although one-sided, began again. Damn, these guys have timeless music.
Agree completely! I often wonder why that synthpop era/genre was cut short. It was just beginning to blossom. Thank God for OMD who continue their experimentation and compositions.
this is the first time i have heard this track, wow what a fabulous track , soulful and so easy to listen too. thank you OMD for all your wonderful music over the past 30 years .
I've been under a rock and feel like I'm hearing OMD anew, again. I was at The Commodore in Vancouver when those talented men sprightly jumping about, way to go Andy at your age (lol), I am young again.
As many pointed out previously, the basis of this song is a sample of Komputer's "Looking Down On London (Metroland)" which dates from 1996. Komputer themselves were a Kraftwerk pastiche project at the time - check out their entire segment of EPs (Valentina / Looking Down On London) from that time + the 1998 album "The World Of Tomorrow". Komputer were of course notorious for their constant shifts (the group previously known also as I Start Counting and Fortran 5).
this band break my fucking heart.have done for the last 30 years,,,fuck now thats what i call music..should be called "NOW THATS WHAT YOU CALL O.M.D. this is is music...
Brilliant track. i had everything that they OMD ever released...on 12" vinyl. still got some of it. saw them live, in Cape Town, many many years ago. not the greatest venue. but, surely, one of my greatest memories.
Let me take you with me to a city by the sea The night is just falling. There's people on the street He's standing at the station. Prepared to leave the town She's lying in the bedroom. Fells like she will drown Which is the right side? Let me take you with me to a city by the sea The lights are still shining. It's raining on the street He's moving as he's falling. Tries to use the phone She's lying in the bedroom. She never felt s alone Which is the right side? Let me take you with me to a city by the sea You have to choose a side now, so which one you will be? The boy whose heart is broken? The girl in misery? You have to choose the right side. It's just not that easy Which is the right side? Come with me he's saying Stay with me she's praying Come with me he's saying Stay with me she's praying
Beautiful sounds love this track when omd wrote heaven is I'm sure there meant that any track there play or any uploaded tracks from fans there was thinking of us because each track on any album is heaven to us omd fans
Omd were the first band I ever truly loved. I can remember using a tape recorder to record souvenir off top of the pops! Still adore them!, Andy's dancing however was hysterical! 👏
That fact is mentined in the album. so omd was allowed to take the samples. And Komputer borrowed that style from Kraftwerk. And OMD are Kraftwerk fans...
THESE PEOPLE HAVE GONE THROUG MORE THING THAN A PERSON CAN IMAGINE!!! LIVE OMD!!! THIS COMES FORM LOMALAND, CA. 92106!!! I DO WELCOME ANY COMMENTS!!! IF I DAY THEY DON'T PLAY ENOUGH OF THIS NUSIC!!! TRUST ME, I'VE BEEN AROUND THIS UNIVERSE MORE TIMES YOU;LL EVER PASSA POUBLIC TOILET!!! CIAO!!!!
Wonderful analogue sounds, wonderful song. Well, wonderful except the annoying 2-3 high notes repeated through the song. Electronica, with all its possibilities in the studio, is often about omitting things if you want to reach the highest levels of the genre.
I don't understand What you mean. Of course WHO Always is in this Electro Musical can easily understand what a synthetizer can make through a simple note turning to a masterpiece. Every Dong maybe cannot be perfecto but this is near of It.
I must have fallen off the world when I stopped listening to OMD, then a few years ago I "re-discovered' them and the love affair, although one-sided, began again. Damn, these guys have timeless music.
one off their best songs and i have listened to these since 1980
Such a beautiful tune. I believe this is their longest ever track but I could listen to it several times over.
Classic track - one of my (many!) favourites!
They've outclassed and outmanouvered every synth band from the 70's and 80's and are still producing wonderful music!
Agree completely! I often wonder why that synthpop era/genre was cut short. It was just beginning to blossom. Thank God for OMD who continue their experimentation and compositions.
OmD are magnificent🔥🔥 but you forgot about that wee band called Depeche Mode 🔥🔥
And a few others 👍
Classic track, I could listen to it over and over and ov...........Oh, I am!!
This band are truly superb. They really don't do weak tracks!
this is the first time i have heard this track, wow what a fabulous track , soulful and so easy to listen too. thank you OMD for all your wonderful music over the past 30 years .
A brillant album. OMD is one of my favourite 80s Bands and i still love their new "old" sound. ^^
I've been a fan since 1980.
unbelievably good love it who knew they had this in them
I’m up to over 500 plays on my playlist. Absolutely love it.
First live concert was OMD 1979 still can’t get enough of them! My 13 year old daughter loves them too.....quality
I'm 59. OMD is the best group ever. Became a fan with Dazzle Ships.OMD should do the next James Bond song. do you agree OMD fans?
No one would understand it ... apart from US
How can we get the producers of James Bond to hire OMD.
George Hinojosa definitely cc
20th May way ha!
George Hinojosa yes I'm sure there would be up for that and mail it at the same time.
They should write the soundtrack for every film going in my opinion......
….
Loving this song even more .
I've been under a rock and feel like I'm hearing OMD anew, again. I was at The Commodore in Vancouver when those talented men sprightly jumping about, way to go Andy at your age (lol), I am young again.
There's nowhere better to see a concert than the Commodore.
absolutly great!
This is the perfect song to just chill out and fall asleep to.
delightful sound....very OMD and very "Europa Endlos"

Me llena el alma!!!! It fulfills my soul!!!!
It's cool that OMD is back together and touring!! I've been a fan since my teenage years. And I'm 47.
Same mate. Heard them in the late 80s and have loved all their music since. Cheers OMD.
This is very uplifting boy's..Thanks for the Years!!! Keep Going no matter what!!!
I love the sound of this, great to see they haven't lost the touch...
Privileged to have had these guys around making tremendous music since I was a wee lad💙
Brilliant track. i had everything that they OMD ever released...on 12" vinyl. still got some of it. saw them live, in Cape Town, many many years ago. not the greatest venue. but, surely, one of my greatest memories.
Breaks my heart, love lost again...
Thank you OMD....
love this song
Homage to Kraftwerk in there as well. Just wonderful.
THE beautiful song :o)
Great song!
Classic Omd track, definite homage to Kraftwerk... R. I. P Florian
It's pretty much a cover of Komputers Looking Down On London Metroland mix. OMD credited them on the album track listing. Yep RIP Florian.
Their best song.

Thomas Knobel Dancke schon Kraftwerk! I like this track but reminds me Kraftwerk a lot!
brilliant production !
The right side in my Headphones makes me feel like Walking on Air.😎
Reminds me of New Orders "Your silent face" and Kraftwerks "Europe Endless". A great tune that transports me into 1982 again
Masterpiece....
this is simply so good.
Great track!!!
I'm sure Mozart would have loved this ❤

Only 8 minutes. This could go on for 20 and I wouldn't mind. I guess I could just hit replay.
divine.
Ein epochales Meisterwerk xx, Thank you for posting.
OMD the Best💖💖😘
Interesting OMD album.
Interesting OMD.
When "Trans Europe Express" meets "New Romantics" .. a brilliant tune
Music taken from Komputer's track Looking Down on London. Sounds A LOT like Your Smiling Face by New Order...
which on the other hand borrows a great deal from Kraftwerk's "Europe Endless" just as respectively :)
clasic clasic
Kraftwerkesque, nowt wrong with that
How did this classic not make the album??!
Zach Sklar - It’s the final track on their 2010 album History of Modern

Fucking brilliant. but what else would you expect from OMD?
Komputer - "Looking down on London" - the same melody.
Just listened and yes the exact same
That fact is mentined in the album. so omd was allowed to take the samples. And Komputer borrowed that style from Kraftwerk. And OMD are Kraftwerk fans...
Still a great record
THESE PEOPLE HAVE GONE THROUG MORE THING THAN A PERSON CAN IMAGINE!!! LIVE OMD!!! THIS COMES FORM LOMALAND, CA. 92106!!! I DO WELCOME ANY COMMENTS!!! IF I DAY THEY DON'T PLAY ENOUGH OF THIS NUSIC!!! TRUST ME, I'VE BEEN AROUND THIS UNIVERSE MORE TIMES YOU;LL EVER PASSA POUBLIC TOILET!!! CIAO!!!!

Die beste Band nach Sailor
Sailor???? Wieso gerade Sailor??
@@kingjulien8699 weil ich ein großer Fan von Sailor bin
Eine wunderschöne Hommage an Kraftwerk`s "Trans-Europa-Express".
either OMD or DM
agree
Both...
On current output, OMD
Hard to choose. Both haven Something good.
Both are good but you cant compare them. Different styles of electronic music.
Its Andy singing.
Wonderful analogue sounds, wonderful song. Well, wonderful except the annoying 2-3 high notes repeated through the song. Electronica, with all its possibilities in the studio, is often about omitting things if you want to reach the highest levels of the genre.
