How exactly is Spot's powers useless? Doesn't anyone see the amazing potential? With the right script he could be turned into a very formidable villain in a future Spider-Man movie.
Januar, pretty sure he can make bigger spots. not only that but those spots are big enough for weapons, he can also have a person hand get sent to another dimension, cutting it off from whoever threw the punch.
Tim Hansen Mark Waid did it in Daredevil #18. Its a pretty bizarre story but an example of a great writer taking an otherwise ridiculous character and making it work. Matt Murdock investigates a business man after all of his blood was drained.
When Spider-Men first meets him, he can change the size of the spots and make them as small or large as he desire. He can even lave them around wherever he want, and use it as a portal to go from one place to another.
the infectious disease thing also seems rather powerful to be considered useless. I guess it's dumb for a superhero, but in the hands of a villain this person would basically be a living biological weapon.
@Ross Fischuer Well the only reason he lost is that the villain had the technology to copy his powers but that same technology sent MJ to 'limbo' which according to Wikipedia means she died
Prabha Venkatesh Spot shouldn't be on this list.Sints when is teleportation a useless power?Hes powers are very useful,it gives him a good degree of intangibility, teleportation and he can win a fight just by sending someone through hes portals to the middle of the ocean.
yeah spot actually has the most useful power iv'e seen all you need to do is be creative he could basically redirect any attack thrown at him , imagine if the hulk punched in to one of spot's spots or if he redirected a really powerful attack like cap's shield , hawk eye's arrows , or iron mans repulser beam.
but spot's actually useful. his spots arent limited to his body. And if you try and punch him, he'll teleport your hand into the darkforce dimension and wont give it back. Theres so many characters with Darkforce powers like nightcrawler but everyone picks on spot.
Crystal Meth but that's legit every character as well. take away their power and it makes them normal. with the exception of normal humans with powers like Batman and Ironman
CorenPlays you are right but superheroes usually have more than one power and weapons , E:G Spider-Man without his webs , he has his senses and crawling abilities . Although for the most part you are right (Edit): you're right
Well, your logic with Spot is a tad flawed. According to what you're saying, Spot's power is useless because he can't use it aggressively and it acts only as a defensive trait. However, the same logic could be applied with invulnerability (which is a power everyone would want to have). Also, if a firing squad goes up against Spot, his power is technically better than invulnerability, because not only is he not being hurt, he is also technically "firing back" at the same time
Yeah, spot has an amazing power. As you said, if he's fighting soldiers, his spots can pretty much becomes mini-guns. Fighting thor, he can throw his hammer right at thor's neck when its thrown. Fighting captain america, he can throw back his shield, and depending on the range, he could do ridiculous things, like drop lave on a city, or bomb some place with a bomb too heavy to be launched otherwise. He could even make the most mundane things deadly by pushing something down his portals until it reaches terminal velocity. He could be a magician, a crime fighter, a master thief, anything he wants really.
This is why I've always like Spot. He could be so OP if he really used his powers (or if the writers let him.) He could steal from banks all over NYC, or even the world, near simultaneously if he wanted! He could probably be an Avenger-level threat if he went crazy like Carnage.
Imo the Spot has one of the most useful super powers I can think of. Not knowing how to use it is a matter of imagination. Besides... Black Widow is just a human, but she, Antman, Falcon, and Hawkeye hold their own.
if you think the only super power that can defeat spot is super speed and invisibility since all the physical attack can just be redirected back with his powers
Technically spot should be able to become invulnerable, he can resize his spots to be as large as he likes, so he could cover his entire body. The way spiderman beat him was making him throw to many of his spots as weapons so he didn't have enough to use for defense, which makes ZERO sense.
ACtually Black Widow, Hawkeye and the others are kinda useless when shit hits the fan. Before and after? Yeah, good to have on the team. But during? Any police officer could do whatever they are doing and probably better.
Spot Vs Thor or Captain America A battle which ones says to be a relatively easy battle for the heroes because Spot is so useless. So here's the outcome of the battle Thor/Captain America throws his hammer/shield because that's just what they like to do. Then Spot created a portal to teleport the weapon RIGHT into the head of Thor/Captain America. "That's for underestimating my super incredible powers which is actually a really strong power!" Spot says while grabbing Thor/Cap's head and show it to the audience to scare other heroes....
How exactly is dimensional travel useless? Oh no, he can't punch god level beings...he can teleport, redirect all kinds of non mental attacks back at the owners, and render some superheroes useless. Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor, dude isn't useless, far from.
To me it also looks like a great power if used correctly and with planning ahead but requires money. Leave a spot inside an active volcano, drop lava on your enemies! Leave a spot in the sea to flood fire based enemies with water! Thor flings mjolnir at you? Open a spot at the last moment that leads into the volcano and close it behind. Sure it won't destroy mjolnir but it would get super hot atleast!
Thor gets mjolnir back? open a spot that connects to another spot infront of another spot with as small as possible room between them to trap mjolnir forever and ever!
Dillon Ward Spot shouldn't be on this list.Sints when is teleportation a useless power?Hes powers are very useful. It gives him a good degree of intangibility, teleportation and he can win a fight just by sending someone through hes portals to the middle of the ocean.
Why does everyone hate on Spot so much? I have always loved his powers. Not every super power has to be judged based soley on how it performs in combat, being able to create portals that could teleport you all over the world is pretty sweet.
Moardieb grudge is bullshitting. Mjolnir or Cap's shield being thrown by their superpowers and going into a portal that leads to hitting them in the back of the head should knock them out. I would say spot is overpowered except against the X-Men like storm or Cyclops, or fantastic four too. I think their area of effect type attacks would be too much for him to handle, especially if stretch can cover distance or invisible woman can stop the portals
Right on, guys. Just because they only featured Spot throwing punches through the portals (or making someone else do it), imagine the other applications. Somebody tosses a grenade at you? Handled. Want an enemy's head somewhere else? Break for lunch. Hmm, can I smuggle this huge diamond out of here? C'mon. No imagination.
Agreed. Imagine how much money you could make smuggling (if you had your heart set on being a bad guy) or just transporting wealthy individuals instantly across the world (if you wanted to stay legal). No TSA hassles!
Spot is the perfect support character, and has the potential of being insanely powerful even on his own. Support; Spot is able to direct the powerful attacks of his friends to the blind-spot of his enemy, or confuse the enemy with a fast projectile kind of attack (like a laser) directed around his enemy. He could also coordinate such attacks in a way that the enemy is surrounded by lasers and projectiles which all might be directed to the enemy at the same time leaving no escape, using just one weapon. He just needs to allow - for example Supermans' eye laser - to constantly moving between his 'spots' until there is enough energy in total to harm the enemy. *That* is terrifying. Stand-alone; Steal a powerful weapon, which should be easy if you can move everywhere. The weapon could be a nuke, for example. Ready the usage of the weapon, and flee before weapon does what it does if it also puts you in danger, which a nuke for example would do. If he doesn't care if the earth continues to exist, he could open a portal to the sun which would instantly burn the entire earth surface to ashes. The sun trick would work on the same principle as to why 'Jonny Storm' from the f4 is not allowed to show all his strength. *That* is terrifying, not even Superman could do anything and would be forced to just watch.
biglollol Well sorry about that, I didn't read comics when I was younger. But you dont have to be rude just to correct someone. I also dont know English that much since it's not my first language, but next time just correct people without being rude.
Oliver Sacco Spot shouldn't be on this list.Sints when is teleportation a useless power?Hes powers are very useful. It gives him a good degree of intangibility, teleportation and he can win a fight just by sending someone through hes portals to the middle of the ocean.
In Spider-Man: The Animated Series, he uses his powers for exactly that reason. To steal from banks. Although he doesn't steal to become rich, but to fund his research so you know... he's not all bad.
Depending on the range of his portals, Spot could also open a portal inside the sun, ending all life on Earth from the extreme heat, or slowly empty the planet of air by draining it into space.
It's not that his powers can't be used in a fight. It's that he doesn't have to fight at all, he can just make a quick get away through a portal and close it before most heroes can go after him. XD
El Rocky Raccoon Spot shouldn't be on this list.Sints when is teleportation a useless power?Hes powers are very useful. It gives him a good degree of intangibility, teleportation and he can win a fight just by sending someone through hes portals to the middle of the ocean.
That could be useful for locating traps, bombs and villains. Good for making better templates on real missions Heck maybe given enough training, he can fight invisible villains
Have you never heard the term “thinking with portals”? Spot’s power is great. Just because it has less combat utility than super strength doesn’t mean it’s not massively more useful.
Spot is no where near useless. Some imagination and you can use this power very effectively. For fuck sake, he drained the blood from someone with this...don't know about you, but I'm fairly sure almost EVERY fucking hero/villain needs blood...Spiderman, Batman, Superman...all DEAD.
Yeah so... funny thing about inter-dimensional portals... you can use them to severe parts of attackers bodies, completely hurl your enemies into another dimension and never have to worry about them again. It offers great abilities like quick travelling, passing through solid objects... overall its probably one of the most useful powers there are.
Wtf spot could trick Thor into throwing his hammer at himself or something. I don’t think his actual body needs to be over powered for him to win a fight. He sounds like a super cool character.
The color power is actually underrated because with that power you can create illusions and basically make the enemy see whatever you want them to see.
PerfectAlibi I think he can fight. All he needs is a weapon, ANY WEAPON and he’s set. He can use accelerated spots to make it more effective. Maybe apply spots to his weapon so that it pours out someone from the inside when striking. He can use one long rope to tie up many people in multiple locations. I want his power
I don't actually feel Color Kid would be useless. His powers could be used for some interesting strategy! Traffic lights, big red self-destruct buttons, bomb wires, signs and computer graphics, switching eye, hair, skin, and clothing colors for disguises, changing colors of poisonous creatures and plants, machinery and robots that have color sensing, infrared, ultraviolet.... the list goes on AND ON AND ON. Light bouncing off matter is one of the most fundamental sources of survival on most worlds. Not something to be taken for granted. I want to see this kid do some creative shit with his powers dammit!
SPOT IS AWESOME! Dimensional Transportation:Able create black spot colored portals that transport people or objects from one place to another and cause them to appear/ disappear. can redirect danger, transport objects and allies to& away from self, can bypass certain defenses (walls, doors, force fields) ONLY can create 2 portals at a given time, 1 entrance and 1exit,portals function like a wormhole with a definaugment. the size of the portals to being small enough to transport small objects to being big enough for self or groups of 3. Visual Limitation: powers are dependent on range of vision, Gesturing: Hand gestures to control where portals are generated along with their size/shape.(can't move hands can't use powers) Unpredictability:Portals can sometimes become unpredictable. Depending on mental state of user.
The ability to move half-way through solid walls. Being 37% bulletproof. The ability to, twice a day, turn into an elderly incontinent Eastern European grandmother for 5 minutes.
Having the power to teleport seems very useful plus if you think about it how would he be defeated because he would just redirect Captain Americas punches to him or his team mates it's actually really useful if you know what to do with it
Wow, I totally forgot I was looking for "Spot" for my entire chilhood, and now you put him in the thumbnail! Thanks! Anyway, his superpower is not useless at all! He apparently is just too stupid to properly use it, but it can be used in way more powerful ways.
Here's one for you Hindsight Lad. He can give you every single step on how to win any single battle ever but he can only figure it out after you've already lost a fight. So yeah when he fell off that roof and died don't think they planned on ever bringing him back
Spot's powers can actually be pretty cool. He doesn't need to punch Thor, he can make Thor punch himself. He's the best defensive bad guy. Also Bailey Hoskins would make *THE GREATEST SUICIDE BOMBER EVER* because he wouldn't need a suicide vest or anything. He just blows up naturally.
"Apart from confusing Spiderman's spidey sense his power was useless in any kind of fight." Yeah...because that's the real use of a power like that. Not creating massive amounts of doorways that you could use to escape to literally anywhere or break into just about anything. Not being able to Batman the weakness of literally any foe in a pinch. Not having a doorway into the vacuum of space to take any foe and just have a portable black hole on hand. I think a large amount of the powers just get really bad users.
Spot's power is amazingly useful. You can teleport people and objects over long distance. Thor wouldn't look so pretty if you suddenly opened a portal below him sending him straight into a Volcano. Unless there's some kind of limit to the power. From his appearance in the cartoon I remember Kingpin basically having a wet dream over having the ability and the guy that did end up being spot was pretty reluctant to fight Spider Man.
"Using his space warps, the Spot can instantly move himself or any part of his body from one area to another over a theoretically unlimited distance via another dimension nicknamed "Spotworld." This connection with Spotworld probably explains the many deaths he has suffered and subsequent revivals with no explanation. The Spot can control and manipulate the warps to almost any degree he wishes. He can expand or shrink them to any size, or he can join together multiple spots to form one larger warp. The spots are unaffected by gravity and can be placed against a surface or left suspended in mid-air. He can also designate which spots will lead to the spot dimension from those that will instantly lead to another location in this dimension. He can create new spots, or close them entirely by retreating into his dimension and pulling the warp in behind him (making a quiet "poit" sound). By concentrating, he used to be able to revert to his human appearance. When doing this, the spots merged to form one large black void in his chest, though this was easily covered with a shirt. His preferred method of attack is to surround his opponent with numerous spots, allowing him to punch or kick them from unexpected angles across great distances. This proved very effective against Spider-Man as his spider-sense was unable to detect incoming attacks from another dimension, effectively negating this ability (and although the Spot's lack of super-strength meant that his punches did not actually do much damage even when they did connect, the cumulative effect could prove dangerous in an extended fight). The same phenomenon was true when Spot flung Spider-Man through a warp and he reappeared in this dimension too close to a wall to dodge. However, on Daredevil, who also has superhuman senses, this trick does not work, as his Radar Sense could easily detect the teleportation energy in the Spot's body, making it simple for him to tell where the Spot was going to attack from.[15] The Spot can also move the spots on his body to protect himself from physical attack by positioning one in the path of a punch or kick, causing the attack to pass harmlessly through a warp." I'm actually surprised he was beaten, his powers are super-cool!
For Spot, you just get Thor or Captain America to punch themselves, like they did with Spider-Man. They don't even have Spidey's advantage of spider sense, which as you said wouldn't help them anyway. YOU, with your interdimensional portals, never have to throw a punch.
2:01 "The Wall". I remember seeing him on The Electric Company. I had no idea that was actually emulated from the comics until today. I though it was just made up for that sketch.
I think you're underestimating Spot. He is invincible and can teleport. Sure he can't punch Thor, but he doesn't have to. Thor just punches himself. Spot can do whatever he likes
I’m going to completely and utterly disagree with you there. The Spot was actually my first exposure to the concepts that was later explored in Portal. Any Avener that uses throwing weapons, projectiles, meelee... well, any avanger that has any kind of attach at all, The Spot could confuse them into hitting themselves. He can also go anywhere, and he can do that thing that you can do in Portal where an object falls out of one portal into another and keeps falling faster and faster, then you open a neew portal and the object flies out of it really fast.
Hindsight man has the most useless superpowers. Guy tells people how things could have happened and can’t do anything about it. Makes Spot look like a god.
Which of these powers would you actually want to have?
Grunge Spot as i could basically teleport or fast travel to different locations.
Grunge spot mans powers.
What about Squirrel Girl from Marvel Comics?
Spot
Spots powers are as useful as any other teleporter, heck, they're significantly better than Night crawlers.
How exactly is Spot's powers useless? Doesn't anyone see the amazing potential? With the right script he could be turned into a very formidable villain in a future Spider-Man movie.
Tim Hansen My thoughts exactly! Look how Fox used Blink in Xmen DOFP.
Januar, pretty sure he can make bigger spots. not only that but those spots are big enough for weapons, he can also have a person hand get sent to another dimension, cutting it off from whoever threw the punch.

not only that, but it seems great for pulling off a heist.
Being able to create portals anywhere that go anywhere and the ability to redirect nearly any attack hardly seems useless.
the infectious disease thing also seems rather powerful to be considered useless. I guess it's dumb for a superhero, but in the hands of a villain this person would basically be a living biological weapon.
It's like one of those Jojo powers where it could be extremely overpowered if you use it in the right way.

Colour Kid, the best thing about him is that he can change the colour of anything, but only he can see it
Van Storm so he’s colour blind
Being colourblind at will is pretty cool
That could be useful for locating traps, bombs and villains.
Good for making better templates on real missions
Heck maybe given enough training, he can fight invisible villains
The funny thing is he can beat a whole army of Green Lanterns.
That moment when you realize Color Kid could beat Green Lantern.
Steve Koller I'm dead but true lmao
Hahahaha you're right.
He could beat any lantern
i would take Spot's power with no regrets :3 That's actually an amazing power.
The spot literally has limited control over space-time.
How is that a useless superpower?
When I searched “useless superpowers” I wanted stuff like being invisible when no-one is watching or being immune to every third bullet to the heart
Spot is awesome. And if you have enough imagination, you can take out powerhouses with his power...
Spot is actually pretty cool. It's pretty powerful. It's powerful. He can teleport. That's powerful. Right?

The TattleTale Strangler okay that's just rude
Have you never heard the term “thinking with portals”? Spot’s power is great. Just because it has less combat utility than super strength doesn’t mean it’s not massively more useful.
I wouldn't mind having Spot's powers. Imagine the magic tricks u can do with that or escape a bad situation
ok so what would happen if color boy changed the color of one of the lantern corps rings?
why does this guy sound like gordon ramsey
Its Dash Star, look up his channel.
THANK YOU THEY ACTUALLY PUT IN ARM FALL OFF BOY!!!
Spots power has potential though.
Spot is no where near useless. Some imagination and you can use this power very effectively. For fuck sake, he drained the blood from someone with this...don't know about you, but I'm fairly sure almost EVERY fucking hero/villain needs blood...Spiderman, Batman, Superman...all DEAD.
a normal guy punching spiderman won't do anything wither, he's been punched by the hulk and was fine
And anyone elses
Space Llama Wither?
Yeah so... funny thing about inter-dimensional portals... you can use them to severe parts of attackers bodies, completely hurl your enemies into another dimension and never have to worry about them again. It offers great abilities like quick travelling, passing through solid objects... overall its probably one of the most useful powers there are.
2:02.............I see what you did there........................
Wtf spot could trick Thor into throwing his hammer at himself or something. I don’t think his actual body needs to be over powered for him to win a fight. He sounds like a super cool character.
2:00 must be trumps favourite superhero.
pooplord poopsen actually hes a crappy spiderman villain
The color power is actually underrated because with that power you can create illusions and basically make the enemy see whatever you want them to see.
spot has great powers
What about Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man?
Kyle Netherwood while he does have the stupidest name in the universe, his powers are quite useful
Can turn into freaking ANYTHING at any time, having complete control over his molecular structure.
The power to turn into a fish but only on dry land!
Flop your way to the ocean. Or lake, depending on the kind of fish.
Ive been looking for this video for so long after i watched Across the Spiderverse !
Now, tell me again if Spot's power isn't useful!
Spot have useless superpower? Thumb down, hes power is so overpower but sure useless.
Chief Justice it's actually useful in battle I don't who told them it was useless
In a fight his power doesn't really work.
But overall, he has the ability to travel anywhere in an instant!
He doesn't have to fight at all... XD
Spectre Incarnate Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
The first one you literally just said he can make any one punch themselves in the face so why can't he make Thor do that
SPOT IS AWESOME!
Visual Limitation: powers are dependent on range of vision,
Gesturing: Hand gestures to control where portals are generated along with their size/shape.(can't move hands can't use powers)
Unpredictability:Portals can sometimes become unpredictable. Depending on mental state of user.
id like to have that FF power
so i can end my life after watching another realistic minecraft video
Imagine if spot could make his body entirely black, then he would have the power to go through anything as it would just go past him
Spot is actually useful
spot has useless abilities????????????? man you are crazy, for me his powers are better than many other powers.
woe did the wall comic tell the future of Trump
Pretty sure that's an edit.
It's edited. That "R" looks horrible.
Imagine spot open a portal inside an enemy's abdomen or stab someone anywhere in the earth while sitting and watching tv.
how did the kid that can blow himself discover his power?
Luka Kiria Xavier told him.
DNA test
I think it’s a passed down power.
I haven’t read the comics, but I think his family has a history of exploding.
The ability to move half-way through solid walls.
Being 37% bulletproof.
The ability to, twice a day, turn into an elderly incontinent Eastern European grandmother for 5 minutes.
Marvel predicted Trump. 2:00
Cymes yea I know. I looked it up after because I couldn't believe it was true but it was still funny. thanks for trying to clarify
Having the power to teleport seems very useful plus if you think about it how would he be defeated because he would just redirect Captain Americas punches to him or his team mates it's actually really useful if you know what to do with it
2:01 the wall = Trump!! ?? xD
Spot is actually really cool
2;01 literally says TRUMP, i cant even
Its edited lol Originally it supposed to be THUMP.
Tyler Nolin *2:01
Wow, I totally forgot I was looking for "Spot" for my entire chilhood, and now you put him in the thumbnail! Thanks!
Anyway, his superpower is not useless at all! He apparently is just too stupid to properly use it, but it can be used in way more powerful ways.
Get thor or captain america to punch themselves. problem solved, spot!
Ikr, these guys are idiots for including spot on this list.
Here's one for you Hindsight Lad. He can give you every single step on how to win any single battle ever but he can only figure it out after you've already lost a fight. So yeah when he fell off that roof and died don't think they planned on ever bringing him back
I didn't know what does humor means until I saw FF and the wall.
The best of the worst of superpowers is Spot's power
how is spots powers useless??????
Idk...
>power to create portals
>Useless
I call tomfoolery on this one
Spot don’t need to punch those powerful guys,he’ll just make them punch themselves
Saying that Spot power is useless is a cruel lack of imagination.
He actually have one of the most useful and fun power of all time.
Color Kid's ability would be pretty cool in day-to-day life. Never have to worry about picking matching clothing!
Professor X: So, uh, what’s your power?
Bailey: I can commit suicide
Professor X: Great, you’re in!
"Apart from confusing Spiderman's spidey sense his power was useless in any kind of fight."
Yeah...because that's the real use of a power like that.
LMAO Friendly Fire had me rolling
So the spot is basically a human gloryhole. I can just imagine a Vivid Spiderman parody
Spidey doesn't know that soon he'll be...up against the wall.
I can't stop laughing when The Wall shows up, wtf is that? You hit a radioactive wall?
This power was a common one back in the 20s - 40s, they called it the "portable black hole" and it was super useful
"Using his space warps, the Spot can instantly move himself or any part of his body from one area to another over a theoretically unlimited distance via another dimension nicknamed "Spotworld."
This connection with Spotworld probably explains the many deaths he has suffered and subsequent revivals with no explanation.
However, on Daredevil, who also has superhuman senses, this trick does not work, as his Radar Sense could easily detect the teleportation energy in the Spot's body, making it simple for him to tell where the Spot was going to attack from.[15] The Spot can also move the spots on his body to protect himself from physical attack by positioning one in the path of a punch or kick, causing the attack to pass harmlessly through a warp."
I'm actually surprised he was beaten, his powers are super-cool!
I'd take Spot powers anyday, i wouldn't have to take the bus anymore.
I could totally see someone using Spot's power to be a total badass, he's got portal powers for crying out loud!
What about the guy who is literally a street and all he does is listen to people lol
"Spot's just a normal guy."
What, just like Batman with a portal gun?
I’m going to completely and utterly disagree with you there. The Spot was actually my first exposure to the concepts that was later explored in Portal. Any Avener that uses throwing weapons, projectiles, meelee... well, any avanger that has any kind of attach at all, The Spot could confuse them into hitting themselves. He can also go anywhere, and he can do that thing that you can do in Portal where an object falls out of one portal into another and keeps falling faster and faster, then you open a neew portal and the object flies out of it really fast.
The Wall...
Comic World: What stupid power! Hahaha
Darksoul(1/2/3): ITS THE WALL AND ITS MENACING ARCHER SQUAD!
The detonation boy was just so psyched about such a self destructive power. He was so precious, aahh! T_T
Spot is OP. He would be invincible just sending things back at his enemies. He couldn't kill Thor with his hand, but he could make Thor hit himself.
Hindsight man has the most useless superpowers. Guy tells people how things could have happened and can’t do anything about it. Makes Spot look like a god.
"Color Kid who can change the color of any object" He can be an archnemesis of Green lantern corp.
Almost all the dislikes on this video are for putting "Spot" on this list
That colour changing guy seems good. Imagine a whole room turning white and it just looking like a void
