I'm thinking of doing this and i'm a serious student to the game. I am a clothing designer and will be operating online, i have Nelly (my cuz) & Snoop Dogg as models. So, i'll use a "Fifth Wheel" promote my clothing all over the states. I even have bullet proof curtains ready for the rig. lol I have things like a make shift hospital. lol I have a ham radio can talk over seas, where there is no signal. I have a repair center for the Fifth Wheel on board, even air tools and compressor. lol Night vision, heat sensors, top of the line E-rated spare tires, first aide kits, fire extinguishers, extreme weapons, welding eq & craftsman tools of all types. Thank you for the tips.
I spend the summer in ak. I am boondocking all the time use solar, generator with two batteries. Recently bought a 2400 solar generator and 600 power station. Catch water from gutters in 5 gallon buckets and use drill pump to transfer in water tank. Go dump about 3 weeks or so. There is a spring I can go to get drinking water. It’s the best. There from April to end September to October. Have two dogs.
I bought a 180 watt portable solar pannel last year before I took off in Jan to AZ for the winter. I have a 35' class A motor home and went to the RTR in Quartzite and first and learned a lot of tips for not using tons of water for bathing, washing dishes and drinking and how to save power. I have a 60 gal fresh water and was able to make that 60 gal last for 3 weeks. and I used my onboard generator just to run the microwave to cook dinner then added a propane adapter to put a portable 5 gal tank to the motor home so I didn't have to move it for propane. My solar kept my batteries charged as I kept the furnace running all night and except the 3 days of rain and I only moved the motorhome about every 3 weeks to top off water and dump tanks. Using those large wet wipes do well for a wipe down between shower days. I do have a 40 gal blue water barrel with a RV pump to transfer water if needed but left it at home. You can get by on a lot less than most people think. It just takes practice!
sounds like your getting ready for adventures! I liked to keep my panels portable so I can park in the shade if it gets hot and I don't have to worry about damaging my solar and easier to clean. even though your rig is new I suggest getting ziplock and store extra O-rings for your faucets. you never know when they start to drip which is annoying and wasteful. safe , healthy ,joyful journey ahead. Grace be with you
Hi 👋 Loved this video. Thank y'all so much for doing videos. I am new to the RV world . I have a 2021 Casita. My question is about the soft start you mentioned. Where would someone interested in a soft start go to get one installed?
A man we know installed it when he installed the solar. I'm relatively certain if we were getting it now, Sharon would install it. You can find the soft start on Amazon.
Sounds like y'all have been preparing for this type of camping for awhile. Doing your research as well. Glad to see it's all coming together. Have a great day lovely ladies 🌷
It's a great setup and it will work just fine . I would add 1 more battery when I had a chance to so you have more amp hours with out having to run your Honda . Nice set up
That's a great idea, but we have to put in on hold until we recover from the cost of the Micro Minie, the renovations, the solar installation, and the generator.
Congratulations on living the DREAM, ladies! I’d love to do more boondocking in the future. We also carry bottled water for consumption. My thinking is not to worry too much about going without as in our > 30 years of camping we’ve realized 1 that our home is on wheels so if anything becomes uncomfortable we can move and 2 no matter where we go there’s a WM or camp store within a reasonable distance as long as the toad has a full tank of gas. Safe travels 🏕
Just what I intend to do. I'd love to hear your review when you actually try out the generator. Y'all really help by being near (well...sort of) my age, female, and experiencing things just ahead of me. I appreciate it.
Did your solar system not work for you to recharge your batteries? It appears that you relied almost solely on the generator. If you had to do it all over again for dry camping would you not do the solar? What kind of portable panels did you buy?
The solar was fully charged; we just couldn't access that power. It had to do with the solar being incompatible with the microwave. Once we replaced the microwave the solar has worked beautifully. We used it on sunny days on our Natchez Trace/Smoky Mountains trip. We will get back to you on the brand of solar panels we bought. We've just gotten home and need to rest a bit.
You have a nice setup. Did you get a special charge controller for your lithium battery? I have heard that they have to have a special monitoring system. However, I am under the impression that Battleborn batteries have the monitoring system built into them. Safe travels.
Oh I'm so hard you !you've got solar gay and a generator! Your all set ! Just be a wonderful feeling know I g your able to be off grid/blocking and will be okay
Great discussion- you gal’s really got it together 🍻
Thank you very much.

Very nice. Sounds like you've done this for a while. I'm sure you could teach us a thing or two.

Thanks so much for your comment. We are learning. It's easier than we had thought it might be to use less and rely more on solar.
I enjoy yall's videos so much!!!
Thank you so much. We really appreciate it.

Thanks for the tip about the o rings. We love having the portable panels.

Can't wait to hear how this all works for you. Sounds great! Enjoy! 😊
So far it's working great. We love the freedom that dry camping gives us.
Very Informative as always. I too have struggled with understanding solar. So thanks on sharing your solutions
Thanks for the positive comment
Hot dog! You gals are ready to hit those National Parks where dry camping ⛺️ is the only thing available. Looking forward to see how it goes!
Our first stay was at Padre Island National Seashore, and it was wonderful.
Sounds like y'all have been preparing for this type of camping for awhile. Doing your research as well. Glad to see it's all coming together. Have a great day lovely ladies 🌷
Sharon researched the solar for several years; after that, when she still didn't understand it, she called in a tech guy to install and explain.
I just bought a 2020 micro minnie 2108tb twin bed model and love it and love your videos especially the inspirational ones
Congratulations of the Micro Minnie. Ours is perfect for us and the pets. Thank you for liking our videos.

Since we sanitized the tank, we are drinking water from our fresh water tank. We are loving dry camping.
I am excited to see how your shakedown trip went!
It didn't go at all as planned, but it was still wonderful.
Hello Ladies. Love your videos. Wife and I just bought the 2108 dinette Micro and going to a state park at the end of the month. Excited!
That is so exciting. Please let us know how it goes.
Just what I intend to do. I'd love to hear your review when you actually try out the generator. Y'all really help by being near (well...sort of) my age, female, and experiencing things just ahead of me. I appreciate it.
The generator saved us on our first trip after we blew a fuse on the solar. We love it.
Sounds awesome, enjoy👍
Thanks. We plan on enjoying every minute of it.

I think I drove by your camper today at Meriwether Lewis
You probably did. We just got home. We were at Meriwether Lewis 6 days ago.
Please can you make more videos from South Padre island and all around?
We have lots of travel videos coming up. Thanks for the request.
My lithium battery charges even on cloudy days, just more slowly. I couldn't survive on 100Ah if I didn't have lithium
We are finding that out. Thanks for the comment.

This is MiLena. I know next to nothing about solar. You'll have to ask Sharon when you see her.
@@twotiredteacherstwotiredte5308 Will do.
Is the fridge running when you are driving ?
If we have it on propane, it is running. In the fifth wheel we had, it ran off the battery while we were driving.
Oh I'm so hard you !you've got solar gay and a generator! Your all set ! Just be a wonderful feeling know I g your able to be off grid/blocking and will be okay
On a recent trip we were without hookups for 2 straight weeks and made it just fine. It is a wonderful feeling.
