Great video, I also have a Marantz 2285b that I purchased new on 7/7/1979. It has exactly the same symptoms as the one in your video. I also tried the same preliminary things you did with the same results. I don’t have the skills to get into the circuit board like you did but the dealer I purchased it from is still in business (Team Electronics dba Pflantz Electronics). Guess I will be making a trip to see them. Thanks again for your video.
Good job. Makes sense with these old amps, broken solder joints are most common.
Yup...and tricky to track down. Thank goodness for wooden dowels to poke and prod the boards with :)

how much $$ did it cost for this repair and how many hours did you invest in this repair?
I’m not sure…probably 3 hours or so to get it worked out, but I’m not the most efficient.
