The process involves unsetting diamonds from the original rings, melting down platinum to create the new ring's cast, and setting diamonds into the new ring.

That eternity band was a very expensive ring with considerable carat weight. If she's happy, then good for her. For my money the original rings were gorgeous, classic pieces and now she has a ring that looks not well thought out and fairly tacky. There's no accounting for taste. Obviously it appeals to many people, I'm just not one of them.

I think it's well made and fairly striking looking, but seems more like costume jewellery. The original eternity band was beautiful and very wearable. I wasn't keen on the original solitaire, it just needed a nicer setting! ​@mountainmama2101
