I'm just here to tell that diamonds aren't rare but the industry puts a cap on how many diamonds get to be on the market to keep the prices high. A self made limitation so people fight over them lmao. ALSO there is literally a way to make diamonts in a lab and the only thing that can tell the diffrence is a special machiene. Diamond merchers fight so hard against them, saying a natural diamond is somehow better and that's the TEA. If you want the source I can find it for you.

The Korean guy may probably see this as a marketing opportunity. He is smart. He may in fact intentionally overprice these diamonds to invite customers. Then, when you see him, he will give you an actual price or the lower price. Between the two of them, one would immediately think of going to the Korean guy and dismiss the woman altogether.

Took my 2+ carat ring into a local jeweler, supposedly honest, well-known. I wanted an appraisal. He wouldn't do it in front of me wanted me to leave it, maybe a couple hours, maybe overnight. Then he said he could do it but had to "take it in the back". Gave some kind of excuse. I could just see him stealing it and putting a fake back in the ring. I didn't know any better, but I noped out of there. Good thing. Apparently they should be able to do it in front of you.

The best thing to do is get out of a mall and find a trusted local jeweller to work with you so you get what you want at a price you can afford. (Like smaller nice stone or larger stone with low colour/lots of inclusions/lower quality)
Or don’t do a diamond. Or do a tinny diamond. Or find something second hand. Theres always a way if it means something to you.
