    Excellent vid guys! You are top fishermen!! Spinning with gars started in the 1960s in Southern Queensland in the surf for Tailor. They used Alvey reels and the gars were pinned on 4 or 5 ganged 4/0 or 5/0 Mustad 4202 hooks. It takes a bit of practice to get the hooks in right so the gar swims freely and doesn’t get stuck in a bend. You would put a little piece of fuse wire in the eye of the top hook and wrap the gar’s beak to the line so it swam smoothly. In the 90s I used to use electrical shrink tube. After frozen pilchards became available in the 1970s, some people switched to those but they don’t wiggle like gars. I think your rig looks great! How much fun is it catching the gars?!! They are like minature marlin. Love watching your vids guys!!

    Great work bro! It’s a lot of prep work spinning Gars but it’s worthwhile and super effective - nothing more effective than fresh bait!

      Thanks bro, lots of work indeed, that’s why my mate told me if you see Tailor chasing for it, I’d better run for it 😂

      Yes lots of anchors but most of the time they come away from them .

    What rig were u using?
    I am using a rod rated for 20-80 jigs can you recommend me some jigs for Sydney harbour and what weight to use?

    • @indosydneyfishing
      @indosydneyfishing  11 месяцев назад

      For this one I used Demon Blood 962. 50-120g lure weight. For jigs I’d recommend Palms jigaro or Nomad bro
