This was my favorite moment from the first season! It was really amazing to break this record on the show and with the guys there! Thanks for all the support! 💪💯
Killed it big man!!
It was awesome to see it in person!! Well deserved Brian!
Top notch dude, big respect, love the show. Is there any advice you would share for a big guy like yourself but is just starting out after years of not working out really? Like, what I should focus on, goals to reach or set, or ideas on how to maximize strength if you were born with a good amount already?
You were the only guy not to show your hands afterwards and they should have been the worse off being under pressure the longest. Dinnies showed respect!
Man you nailed it damm!!
I would personally hire Robert to just stand by my bedside and yell "GET UP" as an alarm.
YES.

That would be terrifying the first few times.
You could rip the audio from the video and set it as a ring tone/ alarm / etc on your phone lol

seheadhunter50 deadlift isn’t the ultimate lift that determines all quality’s of strength so flawed
Andrew Amora that’s an incredibly vague statement to make
Nothing vague about my statement , you deadlift more than me doesn’t indicate you’re stronger than me overall
Andrew Amora you don’t get to decide what constitutes as “strength”. You didn’t provide reasons for why something is flawed. All you really did was make a sequence of criticisms with zero supporting evidence for why your criticisms may or may not be valid, which is inherently what “vagueness” is.
The notion that “x person deadlifting more than me is not indicative of strength” has so many inherent problems, because then, YOU, the critic, need to provide an agreed upon definition for what “strength “ should look like.
Well, the next thing we'll know about Brian Shaw's grip strength is that he probably compresses coal into diamond.

@@stevelajoie5682 ... so man given talent it is!
@@stevelajoie5682 He also didn't carry them across all at once, he set them down after every step
@@jennytwohands6863 Most of the competitions that Shaw attended have strict anti-doping policies and administer drug testing under suspicion. They can do this randomly as well. Brian Shaw was never known to be tested for using steroids. There is no concrete evidence showing that Brian Shaw was ever tested for steroids, let alone gone through drug testing. So it's up in the air. However. If he were to be tested and found positive, he would have been banned from future competitions and many others. Even if he had been tested and found to use a potential masking agent (which could imply a usage but not necessarily be) that would be a temporary ban. He has participated every year since 2009 for context.
But, by being one of the loudest anti steroids voices on the strongman circuit it casts into doubt any usage. He could’ve achieved the same results by using natural supplements formulated to create the optimal anabolic effect in your body. Had he used steroids, some of his events he's traditionally lagged behind others in the past he likely would have had a better showing, which leans towards him using natural supplements with his meals of low end 8k-high end 10k plus calories. Especially given his efforts the last couple years to reduce his body fat and lower his target weight significantly, something not as plausible with steroid abuse given his size. Many of those who use also start showing certain health habits as they get older, none that have been readily found in Shaw who is inordinary public with his video posts photos etc. with his fans.
A masking agent wouldn't hide those outward changes. So to me it leans towards him not using them, but others may see that as they wish.
@@Gungho73 if you really bielive that eddie isnt on PEDs this alone proves tht you know nothing of the strongman world and the strongman competitions

500kg deadlift:Am i a joke to you?
Grip helps a lot.....if you lift heavy.....bars are way easier and are meant to be held and lifted that way.....but those loops are only meant for crane hooks
@@vipullnohoes i know lmao
It's the narrowness of those loops, man. The difference in bar circumference is a huge contributor to pain. Even when you're talking a Olympic style bar (usually a whippy 28 mm diameter), a normal bar (29 mm) and a power bar (sometimes 30 mm), it can make a difference on the hands.
On the extreme end, there's things like axle lifts and carries, where the bar's roughly 45-50 mm, and the hands don't get torn up, but the muscles get challenged.
On personal experience, I trained for a long time with a 28mm bar before getting an axle with a 40 mm diameter. The difference in pressure on the back and shoulders during squats, or in the hands doing bench presses, was night and day. The first time I did squats with that 40 mm bar on my back I wondered if I had a pad on or something it felt so much different.
Now you take the loops on those Dinnie stones. They look super narrow, probably in the 15-20 mm range, or half the size of a normal bar. The pressure on the skin in that instance therefore is multiplied by a huge amount.
