The "believe all women" thing is how I will treat him.
The interesting thing is how Gaiman was getting a pass while Ed Piskor didn't. I think Piskor was always a leftie, but Gauman sold himself more as a feminist, and watching many of his videos he was really acting in them. He wasn't speaking naturally, and I get most pros will be prepare for a Masterclass video. But he was good at having dramatic pauses when speaking about how he got a slow start with his writing career.
He was good at making strangers think he knew him, not just knew his life and stories, but his fans felt like they were buddies. Parasocial bonding and it's best.
People will pick and choose what they are upset about. Gaiman slept with his child's babysitter, while Ben Affleck gets a pass. David Letterman paid money to several interns for sexual favors, but Letterman had Democrats on his show and was happy to kiss their asses.
People are jumping on Blake Lively, but I thought all criticism of women was bad? Most women on the left are fine with threats against JK Rowling because she thinks biology is real. Male feminists know when they should shut up when it comes to defending women.

I bet he regrets believing the woman (Scarlett) when she texted him with the reassurance "everything between us was consensual (and wonderful)". There is no way of interpreting this story in which she didn't lie, at some point; either when she said it was consensual (which she claims she only said to cheer him up) or later when she told her story to Tortoise media and said it wasn't.
I do believe though that he believed it was consensual otherwise he wouldn't have been doing the virtue signalling during "Me Too".
But, I do see a lot of the standard virtue signallers doing hand-wringing videos titled "we need to talk about Neil Gaiman" and I think, "do we? How come? I don't recall being called for jury service!" As if, if we don't condemn him we must be condoning him, when clearly none of us are in receipt of all the evidence, we only have the information we have through the filter of unreliable journalists with an agenda who will be cherrypicking details to fit a narrative structure, and this really should be tried in a court of law, not in the public sphere.
One such virtue signaller is Vaush, who is by (albeit, unsubstantiated) internet rumour not without his own unsavory predilictions, so really should be a little reticent about casting stones, who speculates "how long before Gaiman turns MAGA?" (Citing people like Russell Brand as the pattern) Well... could you blame him, if he did? Who would want to be in a social space in which everyone around you dogmatically assumes every detail of your public demonisation to be true without skepticism (unless your surname is Biden, in which case it is Russian disinformation)? He also tried to draw parallels between Amanda Palmer's collusion with Gaiman as being like Ghislaine, but they are not remotely comparable as a couple. I would suggest a better comparison might be Simone De Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre, though it is less topical, in that they too were polyamorous and De Beauvoir seduced young women (significantly younger and morr impressionable than the women Gaiman and Palmer were involved with) to be lovers for Sartre, and both couples espoused a modernist feminist ideology that informed their sexual lifestyle. Whilst Epstein and Ghislaine were running a blackmail operation which there is no reason to think Gaiman and Palmer were using women in that way.
The other thing I notice is a large proportion of the feminists now doing scandal videos about how they are "done with" Gaiman or so disappointed or feel betrayed by him, are transwomen, so in other words men that already have such a high dose of misandry that they can't accept that they themselves are men, and I think "c'mon, if you were that conscientious about consent then why are you demanding the right to use women's changing rooms? Is causing a woman discomfort not a problem if you wear a bra; is that the rule?
That sums up my thoughts. I'm never really impressed by numbers because I think once an allegation is made public there is a domino effect where past events get reinterpreted through a new lens, almost like scenes from a movie played with a horror soundtrack become sinister just by the mood suggested by the soundtrack. Yes, the journalists managed to collect nine women, but by their own admission "of varying shades" of egregiousness, some of which would have been unremarkable without the context of the first allegation.
Fourth observation, before I wrap up: I'm making no assessment of his guilt or otherwise, but the reception of the story and Gaiman's current predicament reminds me of Annie Teriba who was an Oxford student union rep back in 2014ish, I think, who was very "woke", by current terminology, or an "sjw" by the terminology of back then; an activist in the "Rhodes must fall" campaign which was aligned with BLM before the George Floyd incident made BLM mainstream, and ran "consent training" workshops that preached an absurd level of conscientiousness to ensure that apparent consent was real consent, (consider "power dynamics", level of intoxication, possible emotional pressure or peer pressure yada yada, until "real consent" becomes an unobtainable ideal). Naturally she got accused of sexual assault by two "women" (at least one of which was biologically male, we can assume since she was reported as using a "transphobic slur" when she was first confronted with the allegation). No one came to her defence! The anti-sjw crowd rubbed their hands in glee that she was hoist by her own petard and the sjw crowd of course wouldn't countenance the idea that any allegation was false. She was forced to make a public apology that her accusers curated (the first apology she wrote they binned because she attempted to "humanize herself" in her telling of it and they made her write a new one) and she had to resign from her position on the student council and disppeared from public view. But, by normal definitions I don't think she had assaulted anyone. Unfortunately for her she had by the definitions she herself endorsed. Whenever I see someone in that culture of activism get accused I do think, bear in mind the company they are keeping that the likelihood of getting accused must be quite high, given the expanded definitions they endorse. I also think bdsm culture must present a high likelihood too because it is a form of bedroom LARPing in which one is playing out fantasies of being abused, so you know it is attracting people who romanticize the idea of being victims, so you know that is already something they have an obsession about.

I wasn't into the Sandman comic, so skipping the show was easy for me. Innocent until proven guilty, of course. I did enjoy reading Good Omens, but I suspect Pratchett's talents were responsible for that.

As someone who read the entire series, he's right about Sandman always being woke. There were a lot of eyebrow raising moments in those comics. Read the story arc A Game for You centered around the character Barbie, and tell me that that isn't a very woke story before the term woke even became a thing?
Edit: Sorry for my english, not my first language. Also, are we going to forget the very pdf file character Delirium?

to be fair Sandman was truly always super woke. That was at the time woke was not a curse word though. But the wokeness of the Sandman was mostly based on sexuality and trans people. Also, most important characters were white. Though The Endless were unnaturally white like statues. I love Sandman comics and will not ever stop loving Gaiman projects despite his behavior. And Netflix's Sandman was pretty good except for race swapping many important character. Lucius I was ok with being portrayed by black woman, but Death and Rose being black makes no sense. Atleast in if one considers that in 15th century flashback Death was in England's pub and Rose being descendant of rich woman from UK Unity Kinkaid is also unrealistic considering history of racism in Europe.

at one time the sandman comics had some of the best storytelling in the comic book world. weird, harsh, bloody and emotional, and not fair or soft at all. good mythic world building stuff.
its a gd shame this is how he ended up, too bad he insisted on carrying an extra long petard. die young or become the villain neil, good riddance.

I mean he must have known stuff working with Gaiman and probably kept it under his (stupid) hat, having something to hide himself.

Sandman was ok on Netflix. I would have preferred to see a comic accurate set of characters. That said the actors were really good for the folks they played. As for Neil, yeah I am disappointed. I was a big fan of his in the early days. I had grown out of most of that type of work a decade or so ago. Also never trust a male feminist.
