"No Words" for me is pretty much the best a commercial can possibly get. Being able to create and invoke such passionate feelings for fans for past wins, while also stirring up hope and desire for the future playoff push. All with neigh a sentence finished in the video. Perfection.
Brandon Hall Theres definitely been lots since they made these, I think it was 2010. One that comes to mind is Boston’s game 7 comeback against the Leafs
the NHL's "history will be made" series are among the best ads ever produced. (how can you not be romantic about hockey?) i think alot of the ones that are online are fan vids...the one about, "what if duncan keith didnt have a dentist?". i never saw that one on tv
alitlweird probably speaks to the greatness of these simple ads when fans can go out and replicate them so easily and we will never get sick of them. I wish they would bring back more slowmotion what ifs!
Mike C starts with a dream does it for me. How many of us here believed in that dream so strongly as kids that we knew it would become reality? The least we can do as fans is support the ones who defied the odds and made it the whole way and realized those exact dreams. They are the heroes of our childhoods. and im pretty high right now
I can’t say I’ve seen or remember all of these commercials that were made but I remember quite a few. Based on that and being an old Sharks fan, I can’t imagine any that could be much better than these 10. Well done.
Please keep in mind these videos were arranged by how well I thought the commercial was made. Not by the significance of the moment. I realize Bobby Or's moment was incredibly iconic however the commercial didn't bring tears to my eyes the way some of the others did. Also, if anyone cares, I am a huge San Jose Sharks fan. This video was also created in an 8th grade video production class and I didn't expect this many people to view it so I didn't put a whole lot of thought into considering EVERY commercial they made. Hope you guys can still enjoy and step back and realize how amazing hockey is. Thanks!
What? No Ray Bourque version? That was the best one of the originals. I'm actually surprised only one of the 2010 commercials, (and at #10) no less made it. Ah well.
In 1994, Detroit was first in the Western conference with 100 points while the sharks were 8th with 82 points(an under .500 record too). Because of this situation (and san jose being a relatively new team), basically everyone thought Detroit was going to win (they were a powerhouse team around that time and were expected to go far every year). However, the sharks stunned the redwings in 7 games and moved on to face the maple leafs in the 2nd round where they ultimately fell in 7 games.
Love all of these, but as a Flyers fan, I'd include "Comeback" on this list. The Flyers comeback from down 3-0 in the series and 3-0 in the game against the Bruins to win was epic.
Number 1 should have been the Flyers winning the Stanley Cup in 1974, and it wasn't even in the top 10. There are two things that changed the NHL forever, the Gretzky trade, and the Flyers becoming the first expansion team to win the cup.
#1 deserves to be #1. That gives me chills, its what every 5 year old kid grows up dreaming about. Lifting the cup. From toews growing up skating on the frozen ponds of Manitoba to me skating on the frozen canals of maryland, we all blow out the candles with the same wish.
Love Them !!!! Im glad Teemu Selänne got to win something a great player, as a Swede 2006 Olympics is a high with the win over Finland but, Teemu Selänne deserved to win something with the national team aswell.
I love them all but Orr should be #1 and the Bruins 2011 one should be up there too. The Bobby Orr one is just done so well too along with the Bruins 2011 one. All of them are done really well. I wish they still made these.
did they make one for lanny mcdonald or bourque or brett hull in the crease or theo flury sliding across the ice. so many moments in hockey history that u could make a commercial for
i find the 2010 commercials better...the ones with the moment and then they rewind it in slow-motion and there's a question usually beginning with "What if..." . Number 10 on this list, Bobby Orr, is one of them, two more are "What if there was no Greatness?" for Wayne Gretzky and "What if Ray didn't believe in one more year?" for Bourque. I find them much better than these new ones.
they need to bring these back
finally someone who agrees with me
ANDrew MULLigan Those are the greatest parts of the sport..
I know really
Still do
yes it does
"No Words" for me is pretty much the best a commercial can possibly get. Being able to create and invoke such passionate feelings for fans for past wins, while also stirring up hope and desire for the future playoff push. All with neigh a sentence finished in the video. Perfection.
No Words gives me chills. every time. It should be no. 1!
Same
absolutely
Was literally about to type this
It epitomizes sport
"No Words" should be number 1 in y book.
Christopher Johnson Still gives me chills, years and years later
These commercials used to give me the chills when they were on tv
"no words", even though I've seen it over 1000 times, still almost brings me to tears each and every time.
should be a commercial every year imo, or atleast ever 5. such a beautiful commercial
Genius marketing strategy by the League.
Anyone else remember when versus was a channel
Leaked Snapchat Versus was the shit. NBC is the closest thing to it now
They need to bring back the rewind ones.
+Ed Ingersoll Those ones sucked.
The Cam ward one is my favorite along with no words
why did they stop showing these
I think they didn't want tot run them into the ground. And there are only so many "greatest" moments
And f you los Angeles f you
Brandon Hall Theres definitely been lots since they made these, I think it was 2010. One that comes to mind is Boston’s game 7 comeback against the Leafs
I wish they would keep making these. I always get goosebumps when I see these.
No Words is the best one.

Some of those parody one were amazing though 🤣
No Words makes me tear up every time

I will always remember that magical, cam ward run he was absolutely spectacluar.
Stevie Y's was deserving to be on this list
It's an honor to be the 19th person to like this statement!
i will always miss these commercials every time playoff promos come around. such a brilliant idea, that gave me chills every time
I can’t say I’ve seen or remember all of these commercials that were made but I remember quite a few. Based on that and being an old Sharks fan, I can’t imagine any that could be much better than these 10. Well done.
I just love Cam Ward.
i love the one where theyre all just at a loss for words, i can't describe how i feel when i watch that, goosebumps all over
No words should be number one, in my opinion. These ads give me the chills. Bring these back
As a Sabres fan may day will always be my favorite call but every single one of these are gold.
I remember watching 6 live, one of the best comebacks I've ever seen. Still gives me chills watching it today.
Who's cutting onions?
We need this back!
Lewis13 why wasn't your profile on?

stevie y's and patrick roy's should be in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These videos send shivers down my spine
Thank's for posting this marvelous vid
Blackhawks fan and there is no way No words isn’t the best of these.
I loved May Day
That one really stuck ...
They need to bring these commercials back
I get teary eyed when I see these.
In 1994, Detroit was first in the Western conference with 100 points while the sharks were 8th with 82 points(an under .500 record too). Please bring these commercials back
Give me goosebumps just seeing all of these
absolutely brilliant advertising. if a commercial can give me chills, congratulations! you've done you're job right
I love these history will be made things, they're just pure awesome!
i miss these.
Best one is the Sharks comeback
'no words' is my favorite, and i know it's cheesy to say but i think it says it all
Wish and No Words are absolutely genius
As a Sharks fan, that clip beating the Red Wings hits.
lol. that Sharks one is so funny after the playoffs this year.
LOL
Both series were actually pretty painful... this year more so because of the balanced team we had (more or less) and just pissing it all away =_=
Cam Ward!!
no words gives me goosebumps
no words tore at my heart.
Gives me chills
#4 is the greatest hockey ad of all time
These were so much better than the "Previously on the Stanley Cup Playoffs" ones they do now.
great selections
Fascinating
A true hockey fan gets goosebumps when watching this
Tears, every time.
Miss these. Now we are stuck with ESPN 😭
the definition of hockey is honestly a truly unanswerable answer
Bobby Orr should have been Number 1. That goal is one of the most famous moments in sports.
I honestly can't believe Raymond Bourque's didn't make the list let alone get number 1, that one always gets to me.
wow the best comeback ive heard with gretzky playing in it
chills
Love all of these, but as a Flyers fan, I'd include "Comeback" on this list. The Flyers comeback from down 3-0 in the series and 3-0 in the game against the Bruins to win was epic.
"It's hehe uh... Huh."
The ones from the 2010 playoffs were the best, need more of them in there.
the Steve Yzerman one should have been in their also
it's #1, this was made by a hawks fan
nooo the best moment in hockey history Ray bourque
Number 1 should have been the Flyers winning the Stanley Cup in 1974, and it wasn't even in the top 10. There are two things that changed the NHL forever, the Gretzky trade, and the Flyers becoming the first expansion team to win the cup.

Goddamn I miss these commercials...
What about the flyers comeback on the bruins?
i am the only one who cries when i see some of these?
no words is the best commercial of all time, not only for hockey. should top this list without competition
Halak one that's not here is my favorite. May Day is my favorite from this top 10 list
#3 and #1 pure awesome
can't wait untill next years bruins game 7 commercial
dude true words right there. haha I am cold right now lol.
Only commercials in the world that are fun.
Bring these back @nhl
Bobby Orr #10? Probably the best one of all..
Love Them !!!! Im glad Teemu Selänne got to win something a great player, as a Swede 2006 Olympics is a high with the win over Finland but, Teemu Selänne deserved to win something with the national team aswell.
no words is the best one
Exactly what I was going to type.
these were so feels
Need to make one for the Stars-Sabres no goal situation lol
I love them all but Orr should be #1 and the Bruins 2011 one should be up there too. The Bobby Orr one is just done so well too along with the Bruins 2011 one. All of them are done really well. I wish they still made these.
MAY DAY! MAY DAY! MAY DAY! MAY DAY! BRAAAADDDD MAAAAYYYYYY!
go sabres Stanley Cup in 2020
Earlier then that .. 2017-18
+NHL/Hockey Highlights O got dayum...
What makes this even better is the fact the Sabres didn't even make the playoffs in 2020 with 24 teams making the "playoffs".
is amazing videos
I love number 4!
"What if Broad Street didn't fight back" from the 2010 season should have been #1
Where is the Mario Lemieux goal on the north stars? Incomplete list without that one. Or the Patrick Roy save.
MY TOE!! MY TOE OWW MA-GOD DAMN - TEAU
how does one simply omit Steve Yzermans "The Goal"
beautiful commercials, i actually think if they brought this back it might make non hockey fans more interested.
hockey is best beutiful game on the all world and its my live
did they make one for lanny mcdonald or bourque or brett hull in the crease or theo flury sliding across the ice. so many moments in hockey history that u could make a commercial for
it happened in 2008 montreal cameback from a 0-5 in regular season
No Lanny? That is the best one!
As much of a Blackhawks fan I am, Bobby Orr's should be 1
i find the 2010 commercials better...the ones with the moment and then they rewind it in slow-motion and there's a question usually beginning with "What if..." . Number 10 on this list, Bobby Orr, is one of them, two more are "What if there was no Greatness?" for Wayne Gretzky and "What if Ray didn't believe in one more year?" for Bourque.
