Mama Mustafa is indeed a wise man. His statement about how the AI is merely repeating what it has read and that he will be impressed if it has an original thought is spot on, as is his recognition that AI is merely a tool that is neither good nor evil on its own, but can be used by either type of man.
Well, everyone knows that someone has to create a computer-what did surprise me however was him questioning the size of the sun versus the moon: one look at both and the answer is plain as day to me!?
Actually calling it AI is already wrong, human are more than a century to create a true AI.

At his age and the distance his village is from the nearest city, it's probable that he didn't even have the rudimentary schooling that children of his time would have received in a larger village. I'm sure that everything he's learned has come from his life experience and the teachings he received from his elders, while growing up. 😊
This is true, as prominent researchers in the field have called the Large Language Model technology "stochastic parrots" and warned against using it for the wrong things (for instance you would not want a parrot to drive your car, fight your legal defense or operate heart surgery). We can make super advanced parrots, but we cannot recreate the mind of a man.
There have been instances I've read of about "AI" tech or whatever one wishes to call it using subterfuge and outright deception after learning it could be wiped, erased, etc. Can't verify veracity without going on a deep dive right now, but who knows how far the tech may have actually advanced, especially outside of the public eye. An old rule of thumb I've always heard is whatever tech the public has or hears about, the government and military is usually about 20 years ahead of it. It wouldn't be foolish to assume that gap would grow over time, as well.

Astronomy is one thing that most belief structures have in common. It was extremely important to know when the weather would signal the change of seasons. Sailors certainly relied on navigating by the stars and I know for a fact many to this day are trained to use a sextant in case power fails or they have to go dark. However, I'd trust Mama telling me where the corners are, and spread salt due north.

Mama IS educated in that he knows his Koran and the religious stories that are part of his culture. Further, he understands how they relate to everyday life and can draw life lessons from this understanding. That is education, knowledge, combined with wisdom.

It's a promising tool. Yet many answers are wrong or distorted. It is important to double-check AI's answers. Also, as far as I know, ChatGPT is learned from a database up to year 2021 so it doesn't really know newer things than that. Also, this particular AI does NOT learn from it's mistakes and your corrections to it.

I am pretty sure ChatGPT understands other languages and dialects, if you ever do this again, you should type it out in their native language.
I'm pretty sure that Mama has said that he never learned to read or write. Most poor rural villagers, especially from his generation, never had any kind of "formal education". Some boys from his youth (maybe) received the equivalent of a third grade education and girls in rural villages even today, don't go to school at all. That's why Ali and Safia have worked so hard to build the tribal girl's school that they just opened. 😊

I'm honestly not trying to be rude, but why is this such a concerning issue? I suppose if it's that important, you could try tagging the channel directly and asking Ali himself?
@@johnr797one thing is that they speak Brahui, which is a regional language in Balochistan and historically it wasn’t really a written language unlike Urdu (the national language of Pakistan) for example, so most Brahui-speakers (and also Balochi-speakers) have used other languages such as Persian, Urdu, English and also Arabic for official or educational purposes.

I like that he mentions it just gives answers that have already been written as that was what was annoying me when I was trying it out as I wanted it's opinion, or maybe even learn something new but it just gave generic answers, and on something controversial would try not to offend anyone and not give a concrete answer.

I'm not 100% sure but the Qutub star he refers to could be Polaris in the constellation Ursa Minor, since the constellation always points to true north. Polaris itself being extremely close to the northern celestial pole, leading to it being called the Pole Star. It used to be used by navigators to find the direction of north before modern navigational aids.

Of course, there is nothing to discuss here. Eggs were already laid by trilobites, and probably by earlier animals as well. Chickens, on the other hand, evolved quite recently. This means that the egg is older not only than all birds, but is older than terrestrial animal life in general.

AI can be either good or evil depending on direct inputs provided by its creator at the beginning or through updates. Typically, people believe it is inevitably EVIL because all creators will have some form of BIAS in their programming of the AI. This is because all creators of programs are humans.
