Agsgs thank you! The first one was only half of the video...and to be honest, I don't know how that happened. I never rendered just half...a ghost 😨

Holy FUCKING SHIT!!! the edits to this video are AMAZING😲😲, the song with Jame bringing "weight" to his choices(in what a person would feel for these life and death scenery), and the scenes with ozcar beginning, middle, and end, goosebumps❤❤💯😆😆

Ooh that was slick :o Your skillful use of masking never ceases to amaze me. And of course, the storytelling was perfect for the song! You alluded to making more videos of this AU in the future - I can’t wait to see where you go with it :D

Thank you! The bit at the end was actually referring to a different AU; the edgey Salem!Oscar AU from a while ago (ruclips.net/video/stp5edSFfuQ/видео.html) but now that you mention it..I might borrow some of the plot points from this video 👀 Thank you again!

god, i just HAVE to know what program you used to mask. they’re so perfect and flawless every time and the way you’ve always used them is beyond stunning and chilling. this video is no exception and i’m excited to see what comes next!

Okay, so it's kind of embarrassing that in the year 2021 I'm still piggybacking on Vegas Pro while occasionally dipping into After Effects but. Here I am. I will elaborate:
I primarily have used Vegas for masking. I deliberately pick shots where this isn't a lot of movement so it's less intensive, and beyond that, I tend to just...wait until I'm in a certain mood. Listen to Critical Role episodes, or a show, or music or something while I do it. It's part of why projects take so long to come out. Also, I SWEAR I start projects with the intention of not doing so much masking, and then inspiration happens adfasd. I'd say it's a lot of tedium and time. I feel like the main thing is practice? I realize that's incredibly unhelpful. I've been half considering getting the editing discords I'm in to upload their greenscreens to youtube for people maybe. Some of mine are actually kind of messy but I think it'd be neat.
I *have* started leaning into rotoscoping with After Effects, since my "All Eyes on Me" video (non-RWBY) with mixed results. It's described as being a non-intuitive tool and I have to say that's pretty accurate...I've also wasted some time using it when masking actually would have been faster lmao. I used it here with Oscar at 2:21, and you can see how it sort of "jumps" at that moment, which I didn't correct because I wanted the video done and out. Would have been better to mask, since it's not very dynamic and he's low contrast to the background to the clip he's from.
      Also thank you!!
