Question about lead core line, if u want to let out only 4 colours of lead, is 4 colours all u have on that reel? Or can u put 10 colours on the reel, than only let 4 colours out?
Thanks guys! Just subscribed. We were out on Superior recently trying out the Versatroll. Seems like a no brainer tool! I did not put a swivel/leader length to the spoon. What length do you recommend? I'm guessing that if a strike doesn't trigger the release, reeling line to where the swivel would hit the Versatroll would release it? Thanks!
@@SuperiorAngling some good trout fishing in the lochs but its all sea fishing that i do our competitions are just starting ,there should be ling on the grounds and the commercial boats are having big hauls of cod, there is now a ban on commercial boats catching common skate(which grow to over 220 lbs) but the angling boats can catch and release you can catch up to ten of them in a day when the conditions are right, thanks for your reply i look forward to your videos tight lines and good luck stay safe
Not too sure. Cant seem to catch a King out of Lake Michigan to save our lives. LOL. They can handle Lake Superior Kings just fine! But the 20-30 pounders, not too sure.
So awesome thanks for sharing
Subscribed! Thanks for the detailed set ups, trolling has a big learning curve and can be painful at times. Yall are awesome.
Sweet fishing trip! Thanks for all the great info!

Great video loaded with information!
What camera did you use to film a lake trout hit the spoon behind the downrigger ball?
Thanks and best wishes!

Do you run all lead core on the reels or just from the planer board back. Thanks

Great video as always. You guys making a trip down to the St Croix factory this year?
Yes sir! Will be there for Customer Appreciation Day this coming weekend!
Thanks for the tips bro.. awesome vids.. godbless
Are those lake trout good eating fish?
what type of reels and size? Do you like them
Do you run straight lead core? I’ve heard that you shouldn’t do that because it’s possible for the line to break? Any opinions on that
So with the versatroll, would it make sense to use a light release? Seems like it would be difficult to get it to release from the downrigger clip.
It would, and could, but too lose and you may pop it off when jigging.
Awesome info! Would love to see a gear and tackle video for jigging lake trout!
Do the spoon run below the ball like a crank bait?
Why not connect a 2ndary line to the weight so when it drops down, you can reel that in as well.
Can we see the setup for the camera behind the cannon ball showing the spoon
great fishing(from scotland)
Appreciate the comment Robert! Whats biting over your way this time of year?

What would you say is your go to starting speed for trolling lakers?
How are those st croixs with big kings?
Not too sure. Cant seem to catch a King out of Lake Michigan to save our lives. LOL. They can handle Lake Superior Kings just fine! But the 20-30 pounders, not too sure.
About how fast do you troll?
2.1-2.3 is a good speed!
speed?
Those are the smallest lake trout I ever seen catch, your fishing wrong if you want the big guys.
