    It has taken me 10 years to finally understand these concepts. I had been through corp trainings, talked to colleagues, and no one has broken it down as logically in such relevancy as you. Thank you so much!

    I have been in the FMCG trade marketing for the last 4 years and based on experience in more simple words numeric distribution is the highest universe contributor this indicates the number of outlets handling your SKUs divided by the total universe of category then multiple by 100 and weighted distribution is the highest volume contributor here we consider off takes this means share in category sales of outlets handling your products divided by the share in category sales of all outlets in the universe then multiple by 100. An ideal scenario is considered when weighted should be greater than numeric.

    Hi, is the %PCV same as the WD. As WD based on its definition is category specific. Or are both of these different terms in marketing?

    Suppose I am selling a new product, how do I obtain this data for my product?

    • @businessofmarketing8868
      @businessofmarketing8868  3 года назад +1

      Hi Chris, the data providers are the same whether it’s a new or old product. Usually there is Nielsen, Spins, IRI, Kantar, etc who provide most of the marketing data when it comes to retail and consumer panels.
      It might take a some time for a new product to start featuring in their data. So initially, your benefit lies in having the data for the category until your brand has grown enough to reflect in their data.
      You should speak to their relationship/ service managers and understand more.
