Love your laid back, common-sense approach to engines and slow, steady pace. You remind me of a guy I know here in Florida---------me. Life rolls on and the pleasure of fiddling with old antique engines sure adds a lot. I've got 'em in my blood and I sure an grateful. Keep up the good work and pleasant approach.
Nice I have a 1.5 and a 3 , ine have the crank handle in the recess I see in yer flywheel. Nice instructions to initiate new folks to the hobby. Good job!
Thanks for making this video, several things in there to help me get mine started when I try tomorrow. EDIT: I actually went back out to my shop in the country where my engines are after dinner and cleaned my points, regained my spark oiled everything up and fired it up. Runs like a top again. Thanks a ton for publishing the things you do.
I have enjoyed your videos and I will have me one or twenty of these engines some day. I have some antique flat belt driven farm equipment and when I get them together I will find an engine to pull them. You seem to have a lot of little tips and insight into these old engines and you sharing this on here for others is priceless. I really appreciate your effort cause this kind of information needs to be handed down. Thanks again.
Nice Runner. I pull the plug out of the mag end on mine,,,crank it with the choke held in about 5 times,,replace the plug wire and then on the first compression stroke its running.
Nice video Sam. I was relieved to see you post a new video as I was worried about you after hearing of the tornado outbreak in Arkansas. Be well my friend.
I just bought a LM 3-5 international harvester. Cylinder got water in it . Needs boring or bore and a sleeve . Where can I get parts or get machined work. Head needs rebuilding also .
Boy you talk about a vanishing form of knowledge. Thanks for sharing! I certainly love the sound of these old girls.. Funny the other video you have from the 4th , that engine reminded me of the old guys on Hee Haw . When it started running I could just hear those guys slapping their legs and hips doing the old Hillbilly "Heave haw" making those crazy sounds...! lol thanks..
Thanks for the clearances , what would be the clearance on the intake pushrod? did I miss that one? got the exhaust at .008 to .010 and the points gap at .020 and also plug gap at .020
This'd be the very first of your videos I have watched Sam. I liked it and I believe I like you too Sam. Not in no "FUNNY" kinda way but,I like'ya. Simple statements,no need makin shit any more complicated than need be. Good job man!!
Hey Sam, I do believe I have one of the Internatinal hay presses (mine is a 1937 I think) that you are talking about. The engine on mine is solid rust with a missing head. Piston is rusted into the cylinder and looks like its all one piece. But it does have a good radiator mounted on top of the engine. There's probably some other parts missing off it too. The rest of the press is operable and looks real good.
I'm glad Wranglerstar mentioned your channel what you do is neat I don't think I ever seen this type of engine run before. and I really am pretty interested in that electrolysis stuff. new subscriber here also.
Since you say (leave a comment), i will! Never hold a crank handle with your thumb around it, put you thumb on the same side as the rest of your fingers so if the engine kicks back it doesn't brake your thumb off! and tie your hair back before it gets caught in the flywheel! maaaaan.... it's like watching rowan atkinson about to stuff something up and hurt himself. but nice engine, and enjoy running it.
great video sam what is the clearance on the intake push rod, you said the exhaust push rod clearance is 8 to 10 thousands cheers bud keep up the good work
Thanks for the vid, Sam. BTW, I have had great results using Stabil fuel stabilizer added to non-ethanol gas(available at our local Farmers Co-op. Please check out my vid of my LA(1-1/2 2-1/2) running my Simplicity garden tractor converted to a gutter cleaner. Later, RT.
Where these engines used to bring to a job site to power other kinds of equipment/ tools. Or is this engine just off of an international Harvester tractor?

Cody has gotten his running.
I would like the specs on the crank you used on the radiator cooled LB engine so I can get one made.
Awesome work.
Youre awesome. Just subbed!
putting them to work is the hard part
Sweet little engine!
Since you say (leave a comment), i will!
