I think that if we were to write down the people who are in love with Suzanne around the world, a box of pens would not be enough... Lucky guy her husband.
Well Suzanne, you inspire me a lot!! I admire you because you've demonstrated you can sing about anything you want!! I'm following the same steps than you, I wish someday our ways can come together... I wish the guys of my generation also know who you are. The best female singer I've ever heard. I'm 16 and I admire Suzanne Vega :D
Much time passed like water under the bridge. Time has not changed your liveliness and beauty, Sue. I used to go to your concerts in Italy when I was a young student, with a girlfriend, just to see you. Good Karma to you.
Suzanne is still one of the best artists I know! And I am only 22 years old =) This interview was interesting because the interviewer was very interested in Suzanne and asked her different questions from other. A bit silly but mantained serious. Love it =) "Do you have a window in your room"? hahaha
@loombaron That's what age does to you honey. LOL It's life it happens to all of us. It's dumb how people (the world over) are so obsessed with "keep young and beautiful" (as the song goes) and act like it's some tragic thing that someone has lost even a small amount of their youthful looks...
That's exactly my opinion. pin point. I just would like to have a laid-back conversation with her one afternoon. Just sitting on a couch and talking. I think beside her being a singer/songwriter one would be surprised how many sides there are to her.
It was the style back then never a fan of it. I was 21 in 1987 and started work in a business office and most of the women wore shoulder pads. I think it was a way of showing power in a male dominated work place.
i like how the interviewer was so blown away and shocked when suzanne said "Luka" is written in the point of view of a little boy named Luka...like, duhhh
Look at them shoulders. My sweet little Linebacker. David Burne had nothing on this girl. How women circa 1987 dressed for success. It looks funny now, as they say... but in fact it often looked funny back then too. "The folk revival of 1979." I guess it DOES keep coming back... but certain of its more innocent/intimate features got sheered off I think, aren't heard on radio any more, seem gone for good. Where have all the balladeers gone?
That's great... unfortunatelly my poor english didn't understand all well.... hard to me to listen with music in the background.... I thought Luka was a woman... there is some clues that made me think of this... "clumsy, ...door again, only hit... don't ask..." this seems a woman mistreated by her husband. or maybe "girl" and "boy" are true.
It's not letting me reply but to Leandro Luka is a Russian name and it means the same as "luke", so it's a boy's name. It's about a child mistreated by his father. And the song Song of the Stoic on her newest album is a follow up..
I think I'm in love with Suzanne Vega from the 80's she really is a perfect girl to me. Intelligent, talented, beautiful, kind...everything
haha, you have high standards :)
Me too. Brilliant acoustic guitarist too. I would still marry the 63 old year Suzanne.

Wish people sounded this articulate again
She is so beautiful it almost hurts the eye (and the soul).

"Do you have a window in your room"? hahaha
Now I'm 22 years old
Everyone is 22 years old.
This interviewer is actually really good... despite her hair, haha.
Hmmm, I wonder if the disused elevated train track outside her window is part of the High Line now.
Qué joven!! y con hombreras. Los 80...
I would love to meet Suzanne Vega!
People just spoke better and were more articulated before the digital era. Oh, the irony...
she's beautiful!

Beautiful smile ❤
geeeeee, she is beautiful!
If you can make it in New York City, you can make anywhere...
Why oh why I couldn't have ran across her in the day. She is my perfect woman.
If you gave her whiskers she'd be a cat
Goddess.
How beautiful is she?
@ 2.06.....Can you believe she's an Angel ???
Dude, you're right.
Thanks !!!

Oddly, she reminds me of Agnetha Faltskog.
She was my first as a child
I love this woman, have done since I was 17... Not sure about those shoulder pads though pet.

Fiona Apple reminds me a lot of her :)
hit 4 over and over
Seems like the interviewer was angling for a date. Can't blame her. LOL
My own~

Yea, 1987.
She kind of reminds me of Jean butler the Irish dancer.
Press 2 repeatedly
1:13 SALUTE!
I saw pictures of her now, shes old =(
Yes 1987 to inevitable now encompasses over a few decades. Imagine us forty years ahead?

She's cool as all, but I am not lovin' those 80s shoulder pads. I bet she'd cringe if she saw them now.
NOTHING good.
