Nonsense. American grandparents of anyone alive today had more common sense than to pour molten steel in bare feet. Sure, there was a time when we didn't have asbestos clothing and Pyrex face shields, but even back then they wore big heavy leather clothing and heavy footwear that would protect the foot long enough to get the laceless shoe off.
The ignorance of Americans is endless. They believe that American standards should apply throughout the world. I admire these hard working bare footed individuals and there attention to detail much more than any lazy American worker with all their safety standards in place, that by the way are number 1 polluters in the world.

The company owner should be prosecuted for lack of responsibility towards the employees, not giving them any PPE, no heavy lifting equipment, no proper ventilation etc . People will comment that its in a developing country and its not the norm to follow western H&S standards, but it will never improve or make the safety of the workers better by just ignoring it.
Pakistan is not a developing country. You are watching people working for very little pay in a poor part of the province. The profit margins on the products they make just do not allow for the simple working pleasures we are accustomed to, like PPE and a safe and proper working environment. I think that the owners of many of these small factories like to hang on to as much profit as they can as well, so the employees don't see a great paycheck or cash for the long hours worked. No workplace insurance either. If someone gets hurt, they just have to muster up and deal with it or lose the job to someone else. Some owners do their best to take care of their workforce, but I think that is a rarity for sure. God bless you all!
