    Since your looking for a quick snack for on the go, My dad recently found a healthy cookie/snack bar recipe that I’ve come to adore. It’s one of my favorites because you can change the recipe to taste with it also being short and easy to make.
    Ingredients:
    2 Bananas
    1 tablespoon honey
    1/3 cup nuts (we usually chose walnuts)
    1/3 cup fruit (we favored raisins)
    1 3/4 cups instant oatmeal
    First you want to mash the Bananas in a mixing bowl until they are a consistent paste and then you can add the honey. Then you can mix in the nuts and fruit. Finally you want to mix in the oatmeal 1/4 cup at a time to ensure that everything is evenly mixed.
    Preheat the oven to 350F. Place on a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes.
    You want to make sure that the cookies are shaped like pancakes or little bars to make sure that they hold together. I tend to make my cookies a little thicker so that they are still chewy.
    Anyway I’d thought I’d share. Love your videos and I can’t wait for herd boss Hope >: D

    • @SinfulKiss
      @SinfulKiss 5 лет назад +3

      @@margaretbedwell58 I think they could. I've never tried making it as one large item, but it sounds like a fun experiment. I tend to add double the ingredients to make larger cookies so I think it could work in the pan sizes you described. Hope it turns out well and they are delicious. The batches usually don't last long since we all sneak a cookie when no ones looking lol.

And a small part of success just has to be good luck. I have watched two other channels along with yours. ( I'm pretty old and a polio survivor from 1948. So this year I seemed to have run out of strength ,not bed-fast but pretty tide to it. So I have spare time now. I have stopped watching one of the channels I mentioned because of the way the patients work thier 3 older boys. And the other family is so sad I become depressed for then I've pretty much stopped theirs. And not because of these other folks and the good /bad, I have just begun to feel like you'all are family. Any way just to say how very proud for your family and family farm. Fondly, mrsjob.

    Al, I have learned so much from you sharing your homestead with us. You are so knowledgable. So have you always known all this stuff or have you gone about educating yourself? Were you prepared to farm when you moved there or has all of your learning been between reading and trial and error? Just curious to know. I grew up on a farm and I now understand why my dad did the things that he did. He was pretty progressive to have a homestead. He bought his during WWII. After the war when everyone was moving to the "new" idea of suburbs, my dad created a homestead. I always loved growing up there. But in the 70's things started changing as far as gardening and I began to learn to grow in beds. Now there are newer ways. I always like to progress as long as it makes sense. If not, I will stick to the old ways until I find that it is better to change. :) But i love your homestead, it is very workable, and you make it easy to follow during the seasons. I am that kind of a person, I need to know what needs to be done when. I think that is why I enjoy your channel. You go about your daily chores and it is the same routine daily. It is relaxing and comfortable to watch you share your life. :) Thanks.

The reson you use raw honey from your area is because it contains all the pollens you might be allergic to. There's something in the comb other tha pollens that will drain your sinuses. Here you go Al. You and Libby can make these, no baking. 3 table spoons Heresy (unsweetened, dark) Coco mix, 3 table brown sugar, 3 table spoons coconut oil. Mix in a bowl, til smooth, add two table spoons of oats, stir again, place drop of this about a half a teaspoon, this is going to spred out some, so space the drop apart from each other, on non stick plastic wrap on a plate, then put in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Once you made them, you can, experiment the next time, start adding different types on nuts, even the oats are optional. I use a brown sugar spend, the coconut oil is really good for you! Once done they spread out into little chocolate candy snacks in the freezer, that are actually good for you, and taste great! You can't eat them all at once, put'm in a container, keep refrigerated. Hope you enjoy.

    When I had a vast multitude of chickens, I'd have a few that would be very clever at escaping the coops. Clipping one wing didn't seem to phase them. Clipping the primary feathers didnt do much either. I ended up Clipping both secondary and primary feathers and that did the trick for a while until they grew in their feathers again.

    If Moose were at our farm he would be in the fridge. A roosters job is definately to protect the hens from danger or threats but those of us that feed and care for them are not threats. For every aggressive roo there are plenty of docile roosters out there. We do not sell nor breed/hatch from ANY rooster that flogs because that behavior is hereditary and passed onto offspring. Hopefully you'll figure out what to do with that boy♡
