    Hello.. you don't need to remove the Grill and front end assembly, just remove the crossmember above the radiator and the condenser is easily accessible in a fraction of the time

    One of my guys did this just yesterday, but pulling the radiator back and sliding it out from the car. literally took him 45min.

    I'd love to see a video from Colby on how he does it without removing all the parts. I've heard a couple of times it can be done and I need to replace the condenser on my 2015 Yukon Denali. This part going bad has been a nationwide issue with GM and they want about $1300 for the repair.

    You can pull the air cleaner, core support, and a couple brackets and pull it from the top. Just did my 2015 Escalade.

    Really good info. I'm a little worried about the lights hanging from the wires that a reason I don't like other people working on my yukon

    Thank! I'm doing a suburban but it looks just like the truck on your video. I spent a whole day trying to follow AllDatas wrong directions. Losing my ass on the flat rate game. Someone else here said they pull it out the back. I tried that for 3 hrs before I found your video. As far as I can tell your way is the only way.

    Thank you for the informative video. I have an 18 Escalade wanting to add a transmission cooler.
    Is the transmission return line on the passenger side?

    Should we have to vacuum it down before adding refrigerant?? It had absolutely no ac for a week before we done this and now it is blowing cool one minute and warm the next.

    Um, why would you pull the whole front end off? Remove the top core support bracket (7 screws) and tilt the radiator back and the whole job takes about 90 minutes. Not sure why you did this...

    These steps are way extra. I do this on a regular basis by just folding the top support up and pushing the radiator toward the engine and pulling the condenser out. It’s tight but makes this 4 hour job become a 30 minute job.

      Colby Golightly I’m all about making the most efficient videos as possible. I tried looking this up no one has done it before. Next time I get one in the shop I’ll try it your way and try shooting.

      Pretty much all of the Yukon/Silverado/Sierra have the exact same front end mounts. I think the hardest part is getting the bolts out of the support frame. Other than that it’s a pretty straightforward swap.

      How-to-Automotive's method is the correct method. The method of removing the top support will not work on a Yukon. The channel that the support rest in has a higher back lip prohibiting it from being removed without removing the headlight assembly and in-turn, the front bumper. Furthermore, the six bolts fastening the support have far less clearance than found on the trucks. Four of the bolts can be removed with some effort but bolts 2 and 5 cannot.
      Save yourself time and headache. Use the above video as a reference for Yukons...and I would imagine the
      Suburbans.

    I have a 2016 gmc yukon denali and the ac condenser has gone wrong after pulling out from the dealer for fixing transmission wiring harnes, changed the incab air filter and made an oil change. I think the dealer could've done something wrong that cause my condencer to go wrong. Any thoughts? Im fighting for them to fix this issue. Never thought it was an ac condenser/ transmission cooler.

    Brian, Nice video. Looks pretty labor intensive on this newer model. What is book labor hours on this ?
    Also picking out a couple tools from your list to purchase. Thanks !

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  6 лет назад

      Ron Baynes The labor time was around for hours with Evac and re-charge. That Milwaukee M12 1/4 hex Impact Driver is a good one. I pretty much did the entire job with if that one tool.

      How to Automotive would this condenser / transmission cooler also cause my transmission to shift HARD from Reverse to Drive (takes 3-5 seconds to lock into gear)? BTW- I just left the dealership and they told me my condenser is bad and needs replacing, 5hr job (my a/c stopped blowing cold like overnight).

    • @HowtoAutomotive

      MrRangerZr1 for the most part I would say yes as long as you’re up on the maintenance.. GM products always had issues with the transmissions.

    I should of read all the comments before takling this job. I did the same thing this guy did and I found out from another video that theres 3 screws holding the bumper to the fender. This guy doesn't explain that those screws need to be removed in order for the bumper to drop. I should of continue looking for a better video. Instead I followed this JOKER!.

    Taking advantage of the fact that they already have it disassembled, they can change the engine! lol, is this serious? the condenser comes up pushing the radiator a little, it will take you a couple of hours! It is a crime what they did to this beauty of a vehicle, how much did that repair cost? to the owner? maybe two of the big ones, and not for the condenser but for disassembling and assembling!

    What happen if i drive my car with a bad condenser. Imean the one i have is leaking water or a grrenn liquid?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  5 лет назад

      Daniel Guzman As long as it’s not coolant leaking out of the vehicle you be OK to drive it . Your AC will stop working. The fluid your probably seeing is oil from the AC system. I would not turn the AC on until you get it fixed.
