The E-Revo will need upgrades, but it is fun to drive and will go more places than the Vorza. The Vorza will need less upgrades, but will be more limited to where it can go due to ride height. It is a tough call. Just buy whatever one you think will fit where you are going to be driving the best. If I had the money and I was looking at both of them, I would go with the Brushless E-Revo. I just find it more fun to drive. I am sure some people will disagree with me on this.
I personally prefer the Vorza. I am not a fan of monster trucks. They just don't handle well, and I like a car that handles well as well as a good basher. The Vorza is great for both!
hey thanks for the help, i decided to get the hpi vorza myself. btw your tbone racing rear bumper is on backwards. the point is supposed to go foward to avoid hangups. thats from the tbone racing website
In my opinion The firestorm would be a better car to start with. The savage XS has a lot of issues to deal with. They are both good cars, but the XS needs a lot more upgrades.
yo buddy, yup i buying this in may 2012 for de Vorza Flux! i'm a basher & also a racer so therefore i want to speed on this vorza upcoming soon! thanks pal! , )
The Vorza is tough, I run with a lot of people that have rustlers and stampedes that are always broken. My Vorza has taken out 2 Revo VXL and a slash. With the stock set up on 4s it is solid, it is built with quality parts that include metal gears instead of plastic. It is faster than your stampede although to me they are different types of r/c's, one is a buggy and the other a truck which has nothing to do with speed but they are not going to drive the same way. The faster u go the more u break
Hey bro, i agree 100% with your review, i had one for about a year with a a 109 oz servo and allthough it seemed plenty this time im going with the 7955tg, should be no slouch! Badlands. I use Futaba fasst. T Bones will be on my new one for sure. Great video buddy :) Vorza is a scorching beast on 6s.
Already got it man! I've had it about 2 weeks now running a 2s lipo and LOVE IT!!! Thanks so much for your vids man. I do have a question for you though. Im already having issues twisting yokes, half shafts, and stubs. Do you think the mip cvds and steel diff yokes would be a solution?? Again, Thanks man.
the vorza is a beast I like how you said it took that smack in to the wall.cool sumup .just one thing its better to look into the camera then it looks like your talking to us rather than you.lol JS
I sold my Vorza a while back. I do miss it though. It seems like the older ones are the better than the new ones for some reason. However, for me, I would take a Mugen MBX6 ECO over any buggy on the market right now, but I would love to have the rc8.2e as well.
@playlife44 I have never heard of the LRP S8 BXE. I know for a fact that the Kyosho Inferno is a great car. The Vorza would a decent choice for racing as well.
the vorza is geared low which could be the cause of the nose dipping when jumping. may be you could of changed the gearing to 20 46 which might of given a better gyro effect in the air even on 4s. 5s is the way to go i am using a 20 46 gearing in my voza
Me like ! I am a nitro head myself, but these hpi flux machines have been calling to me...The power they put out is insane,so much more punch than a nitro. I have a few savages, 25ss, 4.6x and a 5.9xl and all get bashed regularly. I also got a hobao/ofna hyper 7 that don't get much bash'n (not much ground clearence). The clearence on your vorza looks pretty good. You also had the savage flux too? Given the choice of vorza or savage, which would you go for if you could only have 1 of them?
Your review, was one of the main reasons for me to buy my Vorza. I have to say, I really love that car! What's a good place to buy those T-bone racing bumpers?
I would go 6s for sure. I do not run from bears though. I usually just hang out with them and have a few beers. They seem to prefer whiskey though. It is pretty crazy to see a drunken bear. They start to show off their strength and scare all of the chipmunks that I hang out with.
I'm glad you like the Vorza, man. Mine is on Craigslist. +1 on the Badlands. I'd say they're the best offroad tire. What happened to your 5b ss? My 2.0 is going good and I'm just about finished dumping money into it. Maybe.
@Leprechaun79 I understand that, but for a kit like this the 27mhz radio is, in my case, absolutely crap. I have had two of these already and both fail at a range of 20 meters or so.
Ive just ran across the Traxxas stampede vxl 4x4. Im really liking it! if you think its a better choice please let me know, I've watched alot of your vids aqnd I would really appreciate your input. I'm ready to order.
ima get this if i can this coming christmas, just wondering can u put the hpi trophy truggy bumpers on it? itd looks pretty sick (Rip Emy and Geo forever loved
how many screws did you use to mount your tbone bumpers if you can remember ? It seems I only have for screws I'm wondering if i'm missing some screws here or the 4 i have is all I need ?
I've been reading a lot of reviews recently about the vorza, a lot of people like it, a few people dont, but what do you think about the drivetrain durability or part availability? I have a stampede 4x4 and i'm selling it because ive been breaking parts on the drivetrains and it's been pretty frustrating. I am also looking for a car thats a little faster. Would i need a lot of hop-ups on this car or would it be pretty durable out of the box?
@sjoperdje It isn't that bad for someone who can't afford to go out and buy a $250 Futaba. Your or I may be able to buy a 2.4 Futaba 4pl or 4PK-S, but not all people are.
Hey you should check out the vids I got of my Vorza running. I completely agree with you on this review buddy. Tougher then nails an faster then running from a pissed off bear. I do have to say though I like it on 4S an am thinkin bout 6S. Have a good one boss.
Hi friend, for race..Which is your favorite buggy? You said that Vorza isn`t good to race, is correct?I would like buy a buggy, but i don`t know which car I will buy. Which do you suggest?
The trophy truggy breaks insanely easily. Do not under any circumstance buy that car. The Vorza is in another league entirely. That said, i recommend a Kyosho MP9 with a 6s setup. Best 1\8 buggy on the market.
Hey I have a traxxas rustler and it is having problems getting up to speed, I don't know what's going on? can you help. Also I recently installed a new pinion gear that came extra with it and it says to not go off road with it! What will happen if I were to go off road?
I can always count on this guy and jang for no-nonsense views and opinions.
Great stuff.
Thanks for the review. Im really thinking about getting it
You can't go wrong with either one. If you want to run 6s go for the Vorza, if you want to run 4s, go for the RC8.2e.
The E-Revo will need upgrades, but it is fun to drive and will go more places than the Vorza. The Vorza will need less upgrades, but will be more limited to where it can go due to ride height. @Bornindafire I am not sure how many it came with, but I have four screws on each bumper.
Thanks for the review. Gonna pick up one maybe this Friday.
I personally prefer the Vorza. I am not a fan of monster trucks. They just don't handle well, and I like a car that handles well as well as a good basher. The Vorza is great for both!
If you are debating between this and the Stampede 4x4, go with this.
hey thanks for the help, i decided to get the hpi vorza myself. btw your tbone racing rear bumper is on backwards. the point is supposed to go foward to avoid hangups. thats from the tbone racing website
@BlueStarHD It is for sale at the hobby shop too, so if you want it, shoot me a message.
In my opinion The firestorm would be a better car to start with. The savage XS has a lot of issues to deal with. They are both good cars, but the XS needs a lot more upgrades.

It is one of the best, if not the best bashing buggy right out of the box.
Already got it man! I've had it about 2 weeks now running a 2s lipo and LOVE IT!!! Thanks so much for your vids man. I do have a question for you though. @Coplax44 check your gear mesh and slipper clutch.
@graeme127 However much Google says it is when you type in "HPI Vorza for sale."
I have just had bad lick with Spektrum. I have never had bad luck with Futaba.
@CriticalBF3 Thank you! I do have an amazing life full of amazing people!
nice review man ! thinking of getting one of these!
Nothing but the looks and radio.
@Jagger2637 It would be a normal medium, but I am tending not to fit in them since I put 15lbs of muscle on in 6 months.
i would highly advise outerwears! saved me multiple times in snowy weather and rain
@BlueStarHD Just let me know if you want to buy it.
I sold my Vorza a while back. I do miss it though. It seems like the older ones are the better than the new ones for some reason. However, for me, I would take a Mugen MBX6 ECO over any buggy on the market right now, but I would love to have the rc8.2e as well.
It's making a comeback available in stock in many stores like amain hobbies
@Leprechaun79 haha nice buggy as well ive seen those being raced and your right the losi associated ofna etc are just a bit more composed on the track
The Stampede 4x4 kicks ass. Get it!
@Leprechaun79 look at the pics of the vorza skid plate on the t-bone racing site
@RCREVIEWERS I am alive, but college is killing me. I hope to get a vid up soon. I have been sick too.
@1sjirk1 No, I wouldn't put anything less than 35c in it.
@playlife44 I have never heard of the LRP S8 BXE. I know for a fact that the Kyosho Inferno is a great car. The Vorza would a decent choice for racing as well.
@rb26capri I may have, but that is how it pictured it.
the vorza is geared low which could be the cause of the nose dipping when jumping.

5s is the way to go i am using a 20 46 gearing in my voza
@Bornindafire I just typed in HPI Vorza Bumpers.
Me like ! I am a nitro head myself, but these hpi flux machines have been calling to me...The power they put out is insane,so much more punch than a nitro. Just had my vorza 2011 model running 6s lipo on it just need the rain to stop now so I can take it out and do some jumps
I haven't had any problems with mine at all.
@Coplax44 either stock pinion is fine. I am not sure why you are not getting up to speed. What exactly is it doing?
I'm glad you like the Vorza, man. Mine is on Craigslist. +1 on the Badlands. I'd say they're the best offroad tire. What happened to your 5b ss? My 2.0 is going good and I'm just about finished dumping money into it. Maybe.
You have to run two 2s or 3s batteries, or you can run one 6s or 4s battery.
i thought the rear bumper looked ok been on back to front... what camera did you film it on the picture looks pretty good..
the rear bumper/skid plate is meant to go the other way
@Leprechaun79 I understand that, but for a kit like this the 27mhz radio is, in my case, absolutely crap. I have had two of these already and both fail at a range of 20 meters or so.
I will be bashing and racing the Mugen. I will also be buying another Vorza.
thanks for your review, i like it !
Ive just ran across the Traxxas stampede vxl 4x4. Im really liking it! if you think its a better choice please let me know, I've watched alot of your vids aqnd I would really appreciate your input. I'm ready to order.
will the battery sled fit two 7cel nimh flat packs ...looks a little short ?
ima get this if i can this coming christmas, just wondering can u put the hpi trophy truggy bumpers on it? itd looks pretty sick (Rip Emy and Geo forever loved
@SurneySingh Yes, a rather large one.
how many screws did you use to mount your tbone bumpers if you can remember ?
It seems I only have for screws I'm wondering if i'm missing some screws here or the 4 i have is all I need ?

Well it's like it hesitates at first and when I just full throttle it it sounds like something is slipping maybe
Go with the Vorza!
I hope you didn't die! You need to make some more great videos!!
Great review
Ordered my Bumpers !!!!! i'll post a vid soon !
@sjoperdje It isn't that bad for someone who can't afford to go out and buy a $250 Futaba. Your or I may be able to buy a 2.4 Futaba 4pl or 4PK-S, but not all people are.
Hey man I'm just getting into rc cars. Im torn between the hpi firestorm flux and the savags xs. which would you reccomend?
Hi. How do you eliminate the freeplay in the steering system and rear end of the Vorza?
Could you please do a running video
Thanks
What happens when you run your rc car with lipo and the low detection is off??
@xxgg As soon as I get some time I will have a bashing vid up. It should be pretty soon.
I know its an old video but should i get this or a brushless reeve??
I would, but I just bought 700.00 worth of wheels for the Baja.
Can you tell us more about the Mini savage ive been hearing about it only seen a far away video of it.
Hey you should check out the vids I got of my Vorza running. I completely agree with you on this review buddy. Tougher then nails an faster then running from a pissed off bear. I do have to say though I like it on 4S an am thinkin bout 6S. Have a good one boss.
did you have any problem with the bearing at all . I want to use my vorza on beach but am worried about cleaning and killing my bearnings
would you recommend this over the savage flux hp? which one is more fun overall?
Thanks ,, But what do I type in to find these bumpers on ebay ...... I'm gonna pick up the bumpers and some badlands ,,,,
@Leprechaun79 and a bettery of 25c to 50c?
I'm new with the lipo's...
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't hpi double the castle warranty when you run it through them?
I do want to buy it but I can not find anywhere to buy it
Hi friend, for race..Which is your favorite buggy? You said that Vorza isn`t good to race, is correct?I would like buy a buggy, but i don`t know which car I will buy.
Which do you suggest?
@BlueStarHD Yes
Do you know if the new one is smaller? I heard some one say the new one is quite small
The trophy truggy breaks insanely easily. Do not under any circumstance buy that car. The Vorza is in another league entirely.
That said, i recommend a Kyosho MP9 with a 6s setup. Best 1\8 buggy on the market.
@Leprechaun79 two of them.
Hey I have a traxxas rustler and it is having problems getting up to speed, I don't know what's going on? can you help. Also I recently installed a new pinion gear that came extra with it and it says to not go off road with it! What will happen if I were to go off road?
hey can u get and reviewthe ecx type e revenge. im thinging on choosing bewteen this the trophy buggy or truggy (IDK) and the ecx
@richardpridham I haven't broken it once.
@BlueStarHD No batteries
Oh and make sure the ^s fits i got one and it didnt fit so now im getting a 4s
i ther one question the trugy flux trophy can you drive with four cells '?
in your hpi e firestorm how many cells are in your lipo battery
i want that car so bad. put up a video of the losi eight e
Where did you get the T1 bumpers from ?
so for a first rc would you say this or 8.2e plus i may perhaps POSSIBLY race once. i know the video is old but plz reply
@1sjirk1 Get a 2s or 3s battery that is at or above 35c
@Leprechaun79 what about the losi eight t 2.0?
is this car better safer (terms of fire explosion) with two 2S lipos or two 3s lipos
@Leprechaun79 and battery im just wondering because i want to buy it
can you do some videos of you driving your cars?
I miss it.
I would go with a higher C rating, but you should be ok.
@Leprechaun79 what makes you say that? just wondering! :)
Awesome show !!
