  • In this series of 38 tutorials you will quickly learn all the basics of working with the software.
    The tutorials are organized in seven sections and were designed to be easy to follow, clear and to the point.
    Basic Interface
    videos 1 to 4
    In the first part, you will learn the overall interface, how the layer structures work, what is the logic of the timeline, how you can animate already created characters and how to export your animation.
    Basic rigging with bitmaps
    videos 5 to 12
    In the second part, we will show you how to create a puppet from a Photoshop file. You will learn how to prepare the illustration, create a basic skeleton and even create distortion meshes and Smart Bones to animate expressions easily.
    Basic Animation
    videos 13 to 15
    In the third part we will cover concepts about movement, how to use different keyframes types, why and how to use the graph and even create cycles of animation.
    Vector Drawing
    Videos 16 to 21
    Once you know all the basics of working with images, we will move to the vector drawing tools coming with Moho. In this fourth section you will learn everything related to the drawing and filling tools, the basics of masking, the power of Liquid shapes and, finally, how to draw an entire character in Moho.
    Rigging Vectors
    videos 22 to 26
    The fifth section will show you the difference between rigging vector and images, how to set up Smart bones for vector, rigging and entire character, creating Vitruvian bones and animating the vector character.
    Animating Backgrounds
    video 27
    With all that done, in the sixth section we will move to set up our background. You will learn how to create parallax to give more depth to your scene, use the camera tools and even add automatic wind to your scene.
    More tools in detail
    videos 28 to 38
    Finally, we will cover other tools that can be very useful for your characters and scenes, such as the different options of the timeline, controlled bones, the powerful particle system, frame-by-frame layers, automatic physics, scripts, actions, references, quad meshes, brushes and layer comps.

      I have a question. Is it possible to bend an arm that's being affected by IK Stretching? For me, the stretching only works when the arm is straight. Thanks.

    It's good to have a reference video for setting target bones for feet.

    Can you elaborate on the "Link Bones" button? What exactly is it doing?

      It helps more than two bones bind each other? i guess.

    Is the file with the arm from the start of this video available anywhere?
    I can't find it in the zip download!

    If your using the 30 day free trial, be absolutely sure your using the pro version. I realized I had opened the debut version by mistake which didn't include the functionality featured in this tutorial. When I tried to save and open it up in Pro - corrupted. Layers duplicated and out of order. Bones that didn't work as intended. All progress effectively nullified. Giant bummer...

    Thanks for the tutorial. Are the target bones on the feet fixed so that they move with the legs when you adjust the legs frame to frame or are you also adjusting the target bones per frame as well? I didn’t understand this from watching.

    Is the Link Bones button the same as choosing Flexi Bind in the Bone menu?

    • @mohoanimation
      @mohoanimation  Месяц назад +1

      It used to be called "Use selected bones for flexi-binding", but since version 14 it is "Link bones"

    What is the PURPOSE of Target Bones? If I was looking in a manual for this program, how would the definition of Target Bones read?
    When you have the fox crouching (6:15) it almost seems like they're anchors for the feet...?

    Im still not clear on what the "link bones" button does ? I know someone else asked this as well

    • @mohoanimation
      @mohoanimation  5 месяцев назад +2

      By default, a layer will be affected/bent by all the bones that the bone layer containing it has. When you use the Link bones option, you are telling the software that the selected layer will only be affected by the bones you chose, ignoring the rest

    Hey i used this tutorial too but I have a small question, when I was adding the targets to the legs and moving them they didn't go the wrong way instead they went how they should bend, do you know why?

    • @mohoanimation
      @mohoanimation  2 месяца назад

      By default the legs will bend in the direction the knee is pointing on frame zero. If they are not bending correctly, try modifying the angle on frame zero ☺
