If you do use the mesh conversion, you can then go to menu MESH>CLEANUP>LIMITED DISSOLVE. This will give you a very clean mesh with just the vertices on the outlines.
Thank you! One question and suggestion, why acting so fast while selecting commands and menus, it is clear that it is a simple tutorial for amateur people.. I had to slow the video down to follow
Fyi, if you find that independent curves keep getting selected. Select all and Cmd+J to join all curves. Then solidify. Just had to research why one curve at a time was only getting selected.
Maybe you were in the wrong mode? Certain options are only available in certain modes. If you are in "edit mode" you will not have an option for convert to mesh. You can press tab (or click the mode drop down at the top right) to change to "Object mode", and convert to mesh will appear in your options
Unfortuately, this video isn't helping me much...at 2:54 I don't have half the icons on the right side panel that are shown here, and the wrench icon selected to bring up the "Modifier" window is nowhere to be found, so that's as far as I got lol. I had to play the video at .25 speed just to see what was being clicked to bring that window up.
Actually if you select the whole item and right click and join it all together, then the icons on the right will appear and you can follow along with the video perfectly. :)
Hi thanks for the video. One question though. When I went to remove the material on the svg I wasn’t able to remove all of it at once by selecting the whole thing like you did. It was a logo and instead I had to go in and individually remove the material off of each letter in the logo. Any idea why this might be? Thanks again
I Dunno why when I extrude- even at 0.1, it goes overboard 😢 ! Anyone know why that is? 💀 Amazing tutorial ! I tried both options. OH-! I got it! HIT SHIFT WHILE YOU ARE EXTRUDING !
if you want to center things more precisely you can do right click > snap > selection to cursor.. if your cursor isn't centered you can select the cursor from the right menu and press shift + c !
Just thanks man been looking for this simple tutorial all day, everyone makes a quick tutorial no explanation just annoying music, shortcut after shortcut without showing how, over complicating things, Just thanks man

You need to be in EDIT MODE to see the MESH MEN, Then roll a l l l l l l the way down to CLEAN UP

instructions unclear: its still a SVG
Hi there. My svg just keeps extruding the outlines only and not the fill. So just the edges of the drawing. Is there a way to fix this?
