- Microphones run into the usb-c port in the back of the Mevo Start. The Rode VideoMicro listed in the affiliate link below is probably a better option than the old VideoMic Me. Just FYI.

Great info. Thank you
I appreciate the kind words!
Could the Pop lapel mic be plugged into an iPhone and then use the Mevo mic app to mix it into your stream?
Yes it can! Did your iPhone come with the adapter from lightning to 3.5mm?
I bought a Rode VideoMicro compact on-camera microphone. I initially plugged it into the 3.5mm aux input, but I wasn’t getting any sound. Then I tried plugging it into the USB-C input using an Apple USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter. Unfortunately, that didn’t work either.
I’m not sure what I am doing wrong. Do you have any suggestions?
When you have either plugged into the Start, do you go into the sound settings and make sure the appropriate slider is activated? In Mevo 2.0 app that is.
@@JasonHoffmanYT I think I figured it out. It was set to Line Level (Stereo). I changed it to Mic Level (Mono). I’ll try it out next weekend at the ball park.
I received the Cold Shoe Mount. It works great.
Thanks
This happened with me as well. Even when I change the line level from mono to stereo. My USB C still doesn’t recognize my microphones. I’ve tried multiple mics. Lapel (wired and wireless) shotgun mic. Nothing connects
I’m using my mevo start to record my son’s baseball games. Lot of wind noise and the setting doesn’t seem to help. Should I get one of those fuzzy mics? Suggestions on which one to get to cut the wind noise?
I’ve had the best success out of the RODE VideoMicro. Comes with a quality wind sock.
any of these mics help to lower the crowd noise? i am learning how to stream my sons 10u baseball games with a mevo start. any advise to help lower crowd noise
Yes, the RODE VideoMic. As a shotgun mic it picks up what is in front of it much better than what is behind it. When mounted on the camera behind home plate you’ll get much more on field noise than crowd noise. This game was streamed using the RODE mounted as described: ruclips.net/video/rpwkZXfdBkI/видео.html
@@JasonHoffmanYT i just order it. how would you mount it? i use mevo start with the fence clip mount. thanks for your help
@@mleon602 I've designed and printed a series of Start mounts that slide on the back of the camera. Send me your email address and I'll mail you one.
Good Information I am looking for a Shot gun mic
I’ve been surprised at how useful they are. Even the cheap RODE one you see here. I’d love to get one of their better ones for our Sunday night bible study.
