Hey Russel, of course nobody can put her in any box. No matter how big or fancy that box is she never gonna fit in any of those, and you know why? Because she always thinks outside the box.
Thanks Nina Schofield great reaction. This song has a very good instrumental marking and the lyrics reflect the work as a whole is incredible and the artist's talent is undeniable. "Success always"!!!
Grace went old school by creating a video like the 90s when music was good! Her writing won't be compromised by the industry, she is an extra ordinary artist!
She is kicking the man's ass - the industry that wants to exploit her, subjugate her, mold her into something she is not. Remember an interview where she said, "We'll see where I go, it is up to me." Or something to that effect. This song kicks ass. Go Grace Go!
How can anyone not be inspired by this incredible, wise beyond her years, intelligent artist. I have said it before and I will say it again, we are witness to a living breathing Muse. She is in control, and woe betide anyone or any industry be it the Music industry or Disney who tries to exploit her. This song is a warning to them. Her creativity is who she is and nobody but her will take it or own it. She's growing as an incredible artist, exploring different paths. Go Grace, stay true to yourself.
I love your reactions because you can hear the things I don’t realize I’m hearing. I find it fascinating every time I lear something. It also good to see you get as much joy out of Grace as I do.
I LOVE this song - so glad you enjoyed it - thanks for your reaction! Grace says this is her favorite song she ever released. She's been heading this way for a long time, and this song release was a year delayed because of COVID. Be prepared for more surprises in coming months from Grace, and an album/EP over the summer.
Thank you thank you for your reaction/ smile and insight ......the best part is Grace.. having fun ... especially the message and the word.. very so meaningful
This song is a wake up call/warning to new, coming up artists, and this beautiful, brave, wise, insightful young woman dares to slap the so called bigwigs right in the face!! God bless this gift to the world of music!! May she ever 'rain' on their parade!!!
Sometimes no good comes from that career wise, hopefully they accuse the other guy of doing it and not take it personal so that they would skewer her career anymore than they have already
if you listen to a lot of Grace ... you'll find that her signature is taking words and spread words through notes for a few seconds... i love her she is THE female artist of our day ;)
Good reaction Nina Schofield Thanks. Grace is a daring-looking musical show. It rocks Don't assume what you don't know. The song has an intelligent lyrics with a very realistic central message for those who want the musical universe, a great job, congratulations and “success always” !!!
A great review as expected from a great fan of Grace. She liked the changes in her music and performance as we all do. SO EXCITED to hear Letters Vol 2. Don't know when it will come out...waiting.
What she is saying that industry will try and give shinny things when you are good at what you do. But then they put you in a box and want you to sing and sound like everyone else. That's not Grace . The problem is that Grace doesn't have a box she can fit in. And she is warning the new and up coming artist Telling them its all not glitz and glamor. And you have to fight for your integrity. And nobody really listened to grace from day one. [ You asked me why I cut my hair and changed my self completely.] This is part of her5 year plan..lol I love your reaction
@@pmbbmp Yeah... when she was 12 years old and had no idea about the industry lmao She actually finally changed label, cuz her contract with Simon's label is over, and is finally able to do and portray herself as she wants to
I love this song and new direction , and this don't assume what you don't know really has a double meaning with people making wild assumptions about her image change . Grace did some wildly exaggerated TikToc videos in retaliation of all the accusations for her so call drastic change , in reallity she was easing us into this side of her since 2019.
Love the song, and her maturation... its only begun. So, when groups grow and change, when male performers do the same its cool they are growing. But a young woman does it... OH MY GOD everyone freaks. I'm so thrilled that Grace has never let anyone take control of her and has continued the path she wants.
Great reaction - and yes, this is a cautionary tale for those seeking fame and fortune; it can come at the cost of your artistic integrity. As is usual for Grace the video concept is all hers. Did you catch the mustache on the guitar player? Another aspect of "don't assume what you don't know" - Grace as "Clover Dennison" a TikTok alter-ego. The song - melody and lyric - was inspired by the guitar riff during a song writing session a year (or more) ago.
This is basically a brilliant “dig” at the entertainment industry about believing all the hipe associated with it exploitation selling the dream to young people that it’s all glamour and exiting but finding out the reality of being famous can be very stressful because like she said ‘sighing of your creativity’ to a business that wants to “mould you” into a product to make them lots of money! Yea the artist makes lots of money too but it’s no longer fun for a singer song writer anymore that now has to produce music on demand like any business. and grace has now discovered this reality and wants to protect others again it’s her nurturing caring sprit shining through she is just outstanding!
Are you aware Simon C is sorta gone. SYCO has gone through some big changes in 2020. I think no friends might be due in part to the label changes. She with Columbia now, a great thing as labels go. I think the whole song is related to the label change, the Disney influence, and Grace coming of age
@@leontunnicliff1737 No he doesn't. You misread whatever article you looked at. Simon now fully owns SYCO Entertainment, which is the company that operates all of the Got Talent shows and XFACTOR as well as others I'm sure. Hi Nina, i'm late to the party, but someone told me about this reaction you did here and i gotta' say it was really technical and nice. Great job Nina on a great song about the pitfalls about wanting to be a "Star". i think i'm going to subscribe to your channel. Sincerely yours, Harold Wilson.
Although I love all of her songs, there are some I like more than others. Some move me some don't. But this song, and I say this as a musician, is pure artistic genius. The arrangement was at another level. I appreciate your honesty, and we all need that. All I'm saying is, my small amount of music theory and knowledge of instruments makes me so much more aware of her talent and intelligence therefore appreciating her more. I wish a lot more non-musicians would understand what an incredible person this girl is. And that's not directed to anyone in particular or meant to say I know more than some. It's an incredible thing to see if you know what you're looking at.
She's clearly inspired by Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift's "period" ...but it's different enough to make it distinctive. I really like it, it's obviously a completely different genre than she's done before ...but holy *F* is it cool! To me it's a mix of Groove/Funk, Rock, Brit Punk and some subgenres of Pop- in the style of Eilish and Cyrus. I love it, it's something i can put on and really get into where as her other music has a completely different mood.
Lol , don't assume what you don't know , TS Not , Billie 5% , Miley not until the hate of being herself started rolling in , but early yrs Hannah Montana and she wrote this song a yr ago at least, so in the song and video not much likely . The list of inspo's in resent yrs was not of pop stars . Grace had a slow evolution to who she is now .
Please make reaction to Diana Ankudinova - the most unique young talented singer. One of my favourite things to find and enjoy is music that gives me chills and goosebumps. I was cruising RUclips recently and discovered a Russian talent show contestant that did just that, with one of the best, most unique voices I've heard in many years. Her delivery was nothing short of magical and I searched out more and more and more, and...more chills. I was stunned to find that the first performance I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 17 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English and Arabic. The covers she performed on that show are very popular on RUclips. Many RUclipsrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "Helwa Ya Baladi" and others. Please react to one of Diana's songs and I promise she will surprise you.

Personally I don't think it's that much of a departure. It's slightly rockier, sure, but it's still very much Grace. She's consistently changing from her ukulele days to be more... edgy, for lack of a better word, which is entirely unsurprising for a teenager.
I love this song and of coarse watching Grace grow, what a song writer !
