My grandfather with no Jewish ties decided one day that he was Jewish. He dedicated the rest of his life to telling people about Jewish matters, and sleeping with Polynesian women. Apparently he'd worked in an industry where a lot of Greek and Jewish immigrants had worked. He apparently also made a habit of lying, then completely believing his lies.

Although Spanish is the official language of Mexico, it's not the language spoken prior to the Spanish conquest. Mexico has many indigenous languages, some of which are considered endangered, the indigenous are often bilingual and some especially the children who translate for their parents, (who are Spanish second language and have a hard time with English) can speak three languages, Indigenous, Spanish and English.

Although the Mexican government is trying to preserve the older, more traditional cultures through language programs (Nahuatl in Jalisco or the Mayan dialects in the Yucatan) and cultural spotlights, it doesn't erase the stigma of being "indio." Sadly, economic pressures seem to be erasing the more traditional way of life for those who wanted to remain closer to their roots. I find it odd that the organizations focusing on the native peoples in the United States don't seem to extend the same curtesy south of the border. Although The First Nations in Canada cover many of the larger tribes within that region, it always seemed to be regarded more positively (even though largely ignored) within the the United States.

Okay, here’s the thing (and the problem with this video).
      1. Sasheen did not lie about being NA. She lied about what tribe she was from. The fact is, it’s actually extremely unlikely that she would be half Mexican, but not NA, because the vast majority of Mexicans are NA (Mexico actually has the largest NA population in the world). However, many Mexicans do not have tribal affiliation, but at NA nonetheless. The likely scenario is, she didn’t know what tribe she would have crime from and probably just picked a better known one to associate with.
      2. As for the sisters, from what I remember about their statement, they said they were not NA, but instead were Mexican. What that tells me is they do not associate Mexican with NA, which unfortunately is all too common. So yes, they did claim that they are not NA, while in the same breath stating that they are in fact Mexican, which is predominantly NA. They also stated there were no links to tribal heritage. That is not the same as saying they are not NA. It just means they have no tribal heritage. Not all NA are tribal members.
For example: As a person of Puerto Rican descent, I am 14% NA, but the government considers my tribe (Taino) “extinct”, therefore, I’m part NA with no “tribal heritage”.

"Every time a self-deluded narcissistic pretendian wins an award, gets university tenure or is given a seat at a boardroom table, it means someone real has been pushed out or denied access. @Mark is not even close. Our family doesn't drink. So there's no drunk tirade. My father was a child of an alcoholic. His father, George, drank, abused him, fostered homes, family to family. Lost his hearing at 9yrs old. His mother died at 22yrs. Sacheen took his life and made it her story except for being deaf. Would of helped. On Google we read about her death, that it had already been arranged, and the funeral director was instructed not to communicate with my middle sister. Legally, we are her heirs, and rightfully so. we are taking care of business. Some gal parading around as her neice accepting condolences and forged her death certificate. We're dealing with that. As sisters, we were never spoken or written about. We didn't want to play Indian. Otherwise, she was afraid of the truth. Sacheen told vicious lies and slandered her family, especially our father, for personal gain. Ruthless & narcissistic. A self identified schizoaffective bipolar and spoke of it often. Plus, in & out of psych wards, which only the family knew. Try living with a family member who's mentally ill with violent psychotic episodes. We went to the funeral since no one knew we existed. I approached the podium to address the fact that she has 2 biological sisters, and none of us have children. Talk about our grandparents, parents, and the good people they were. How we had a good life growing up and my father didn't do anything wrong. Marie Louise created Sacheen because she didn't like her Hispanic hertiage. Even on her marriage license to Rubio, she listed our father's info. Wrong. After the divorce, she never married again. BTW that name comes from Sasheen Ribbon Company. She dropped the s to c that's why no tribes could match it to their language. We used to make our own clothes and belong to 4-H, ballet lessons, Catholic schools, and county fairs just like any other family in the country. No poverty. Our parents had a successful business, our home was behind the shop and our grandparents' house 100Ft away with a stable & our horse. Marie wore a Plains buckskin dress instead of traditional Apache and hairstyle to Oscar's. Red flag. As a pathological liar, schizophrenic and the victim/Saint act she was a con. A terrible actress to us because "well, we got stuck with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. This is way b4 JK. Until Oct 2022 never heard of the woman or anything she stood for except the one thing we have in common. Marie is a fraud. I've been trying for 15yrs to get a journalist to listen to me. Over a decade later, A Nightmare on Elm Street actor Jsu Garcia, who is of Cuban descent, was given the pseudonym Nick Corri by his agent so he could pass for Italian. I don't know if this is related to the video's story but here in the Philippines a few years ago, I recall a TV interview of a minor comedy actor and told stories of his first years in America as an illegal immigrant. The funniest was when he was working as a dishwasher in a diner and one day the place was raided by US immigration officers and started arresting illegal immigrant workers. He said since he looked like one, he pretended to be a Native American and complained angrily at the immigration officer for mistaking him for an illegal alien.😅😂

That's funny since a lot of Natives in Arizona were getting stopped and carded for being illegal, until they filed a suit against racial profiling.

I love this analysis. No throwing insults or jokes, no accusations of "wokism", just facts, plain and straight. Your voice is so soothing as well. You should try narrating audio books sometime.

Well, not exactly “plain facts”. He has a general misunderstanding of Latin American culture that informs his analysis. He should have done more research.
