Great video buddy -- I'm in the middle of this assembly and it's going great. Nice kits and I like how you end the video with some honest/objective comparisons.
You mention that the Americana and Minstrel will sound essentially the same because they have the same drum. What are the differences between the Americana and Minstrel kits? I can't quite tell from the website. Is the only difference the tailpiece? Thanks.
The difference is the necks are styled differently and the Americana comes standard with frets. I don’t offer the minstrel with frets. Thanks for your interest!
Irv Perlman if they are way off flip one side over- they only fit one way. If they are off by a small bit, you can use clamps or heavy weights to hold them flush as they dry. The powder on the skin can be rubbed off when you soak it in water. Please send me an email if you need anything else.
Colton Malich I’ve never heard of this happening, I’ve sent many banjos to low humidity regions and have never had any problems. Though I do recommend putting a coat of thin varnish/oil on any instrument to seal the wood.
Your videos are great, but even cast to the TV, I have to turn the volume all the way up. You need dead silence to hear you. Someone needs to buy you a lapel mic for Christmas.

Send me a picture of the joints, I remember checking everything before I sent it out to you, might be a simple fix. Carverbanjos@gmail.com
Thanks!
do you do anything to the wood at all? I want to leave it unfinished but live in Vegas so I don't want the wood to split from the dry weather

@@brncrvr do you have any oil recommendations that will still give it an unfinished look yet seal the wood?
Colton Malich no not really because any oil is going to “finish” the wood by definition. Maybe try a low shine variety like teak oil.
Out of curiosity, is there a fretless option for the Americana?
yes, any fretted kit on my site can also be ordered as fretless.
@@brncrvr Cool, thanks! I'll be placing my order within the week.
@@dpgfla I have the minstrel banjo it is fret less and love it

agreed, the audio is terrible
@@brncrvr please don't stop making these videos though.
@@AraceaeFanatics for sure, top goal for 2022 is to remake the assembly videos and instructions for all the banjo kits
@@brncrvr wonderful news as we're hoping to pick up a kit for Dad.
