REST UP (AND DOWN)
Stéphane Wrembel and Josh Kaye demonstrate the picking techniques used in the Django Reinhardt style of guitar playing, also often referred to as gypsy jazz. There’s a relationship between this picking style and instruments that predate the guitar by many years, such as the oud.
can you upload a long video of these 2 dudes jamming please :)
I must admit, I was completely mesmerized watching this video. I want one of those. . .
this happens to me every time i watch some other string/ fret based instrument. i am instantly on thomann checking how much is the budget version of the instrument. esentially, alternate picking in modern invention connected to amplification, the rest stroke technique is pretty standard across the world of plectrum based instruments. watch for example playes on the cuban tres
The Oud is such a powerful instrument and expressive instrument. I love the way it sounds. I should really get one but don't know anything about them.
What a sound Stéphane Wrembel can get out of that beauty! What guitar is that? Sounds fuller and less dry and high than many petite bouche I've heard. Of course, hands matter!
That guitar looks old, dude. Must be a relic, probably past down from father to son.
Good stuff!
Thank you
Thanks 👍👏👏
