can't wait to order supplies and start throwing my designs on my fav.sneakers.
I like that
Great Tutorial!! Shows everything in under 2 mins too nice!
Thanks for the kind words!
I can't wait to do this to my shoes . I just got some Adidas myself.
This is what we need and this is who we need to show first timers how to use angelus products and how to customise ! Please upload more basic tutorials please
Great tutorial for beginners like me and your voice is so good :)
Not my kind of shoe but I like the concept, I’m impressed.
I just used this stuff on a guitar strap and it worked amazingly
Angelus, you are the BEST!! always Great Info.,from these Videos!! also.......Sophie Does Great Work, and Beautiful Too!
This is wonderful paint. I like that I can combine the paint colors to create the exact color I have in mind.
Sofie is so talented 🎨🎨
Didn't think about washing the brush out between coats, also learned why I bubbled some paint with the heat gun before. Good tutorial! 👏👏👏
Did you hold the heat gun too close?
Nice vid! Im doing a undefeated 4s custom soon using your paints! I've been using angelus for a year now and it works really great!
Nice informative vid! Question though, I know you don't recommend to paint the lower rubber part of the shoe but is the sole bright suitable to use instead? I like all my shoes to be white as freshly fallen snow.
angelus...my big question that keeps me from using your product till today is that i dont know and really really wanna know how strong they stick, or how long they last espicially on jordan midsoles...my question is will they chip, crack or strip when brush while cleaning. Are they like original colours by factory production? Do they stick on the midsoles firmly or needs repaint after every brushing when washing for cleaning. I've searched a satisfactory, trustworthy answer for this from different youtube videos but never get any yet even till date. Now i think the best is to ask from you, the very angelus. PLEASE IF YOU COULD ANSWER MY QUESTION BOUT MY PROBLEMS, I WILL BE VERY THANKFUL TO YOU, PLEASE HELP ME.
Angelus Brand thank you so so much...you give a big relief....so now, what i need to consider carefully is the preparation which effects the the big deal bout chipping and cracking.....i will look or search for the correct preparation and if you(i.e. the angelus brand) have uploaded bout the preparation video, i will study and follow it to have a perfect finish to wear my shoes comfortably without the chip or crack and scratch issues on my midsoles and toecap....in this vid you are doing on the leather, but i need toecap and midsole repaint. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH, I APPRECIATE ALOT.
these guys product is the best I have sum green suede dye on its way ...can't wait4 my shoes to come in
would 2 coats of finisher be ideal, in case of missed spots?
If I have a few scuffs in the leather should I lightly sand, apply filler, sand again, leather prepare, paint and then finish? Not sure when using filler when in the process to use the preparer.
this was soooooo helpful thanks for the post
big ! fan of Sofie...great to see her hook up wit angelus..feel like she made it to the big leagues lml 🎨🏆
Nice video, short and sweet 🙂 .
Is the finisher in the set or does one have to buy this individually? Does it have to be from Angelus or can it be any Acrylic finisher?
Hi there, quick question: if I only want to paint one small area of the shoe, should I still deglaze the entire surface, or can I just deglaze, paint, and finish that area?
So excited to get started! 😊
You would want to prepare only that area. Be careful with the rest, the leather preparer will dull that paint there.
Short and concise! I love it
I can’t get the finisher where in my country. Is it ok not to add this step and instead use a polish or just leather cream?
Hi, how long do I have to wait before applying the finisher?
Very, very nice job i'm going to try this 😉...........btw what is the title of the background song.?... I love it.😅
how much is the paint
We have a few sizes to choose from. Check out our site for the prices. Angelusdirect.com
I am excited watching your video and am hopeful about your product. Great video; wonderful delivery. I have some $500 white shoes I wore once. They look amazing but aren't that useful. I want to do them in purple pearlescent. Just got the paint. I also got the pearlescent perfect blue and a white to transform some black dress shoes. These colors and finishes I have not seen on men's shoes and the cobbler or shoe repair/store said these colors the don't have. They thought they could do it (probably buying Angelus paint but wanted $170 to do it. So I said I would do it myself - because I wasn't sure about the colors they would have. I am hopeful. I got acetone, white paint for the darker shoe, purple and pacific blue pearlescent and the finisher in high gloss. I think the cost for everything was about $100 CDN. So it hopefully will do at least two pairs of shoes. 4oz bottles.
I got to thinking how this could be used for leather furniture. Do you sell the paint which is pricey when you are in Canada in like quarts or gallons?
Sounds like you are all set! 4oz bottles will be more than enough for a few pairs of shoes. If you are looking for larger sizes then check out our Canadian suppliers. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com

Does this work on faux leather clothes? Liek trousers and a corsets?
if dont want to use leather prep, can i use other stuff like alcohal rub or something to substitute the leather prep ?
Yes, the only substitute we recommend is Pure Acetone. Rubbing Alcohol may not be strong enough and won't work for what you are looking to accomplish.
Ooh love the color
Thank you for the video. I’ve experimented repainting my first pieces (a small wallet and small clutch handbag) following these steps but I have found the finish to be sticky and tacky. Any advice on where I might have gone wrong?
Do you guys have any videos/links to how the different acrylic finishers look when applied? That would be very helpful in my decision on which one to select for my starter kit. Which one is used more often? Thanks!
my shoe leather/paint peeled off, and the surface is now kind of suede like texture. can i use this paint to recolor my shoes? thanks
Nice Video And It Covered All The Basics
I love these easy customs
Hi Angelus, do i need to apply mink oil after applying finishing coat to make the leather waterproof or you have another suggestion to make custom paint job on leather shoes waterproof. Thanks.
Thanks, I will try it that one then.
Looks great!
What kind of paint is it? Water based? Oil? Epoxy?
Angelus is a water base acrylic paint.

Angelus I have a huge question that I have yet to find the answer to. Will the paint bleed from canvas if lets say a vans custom gets wet?
Angelus ! I have a question... I'm about to buy some paint for a few pairs of air Jordan 1s I have but I also wanted to know if I can use the paint on canvas shoes like vans, converse, Pumas and adidas? Please get back to me soon!
haha, "keep painting until all brushstripes are gone" - still shot, most messy shit every lol :) even so, I am in love with this product!
Should I buy Satin or Matte?
please be so kind , answer this question : i have Puma Jamming EvoKnit , all-white . The outsole is blueish , i wanna paint it with your Chilly Red , and also the silocon lines near the laces . Would it be enough to stand a bit of water and be durable? one layer of paint is enough? do i have to add a layer of anything else? please answer . Love your products!
Hi there, we tried looking for those shoes and we could not find the all white with a bluish outsole. Can you please email us a picture of the shoe you are looking to work on and one of our reps will be able to give you detailed instructions. Please email info@angelusdirect.com Thank you

i have some AF1's w/ some light grey would your white paint be able to give good coverage of the grey?
Does this tutorial applies to leather backpack as well?..tq
This will apply to leather in general.
I have a couple questions:
1) Do you have any tips on how to best paint with bright colors over black? Just multiple thin coats? I want to paint a portion of the black shoe upper neon green, and then use paint a black design over it with a small detail brush. I could perhaps paint a layer of white first, and then paint the green *over* that, but I worry that the more layers of paint, the more likely cracks are to appear.
2) Do you have any experience with adhesion promoters? Do they improve crack resistance in your experience?
Good questions! So, when painting on a black surface we suggest adding a white base coat first then apply the color of your choice. (each coat should be a very light layer)
Neons can be a bit tricky. Neon paints tend to be a bit thinner and translucent so we typically suggest to apply a layer of a color similar to the neon after the all white base and before the actual neon color goes on. For example if you are using one of the neon greens then applying a color like Joker Green will help to give the neons better coverage and pop. Regardless you will have to add quite a few layers so make sure each coat is light and then.
Adhesion promoter works best for synthetic surface such as plastic, vinyl and patent leather. We do not suggest it for leather. For leather just make sure to prep the surface first with acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer.
If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
THANK YOU!
Do you have to do any prepping if the sneakers are material like for example converse?
If they are fabric, you will not need to prep them. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out to us at info@angelusdirect.com
Just gave my UNC dubzeros a blackout. 🔥
Is it possible to make black sole white????
Soooorry for my english
Although Angelus paint can be applied to soles/midsoles of shoes, it is not guaranteed to hold up. Therefore it is not recommended to paint on soles.
I was wondering if you guys know the best way to paint rubber midsoles such as Vans without them cracking?
Can you replace leather preparer and deglazer with something else?
Yes, although the leather prep & deglazer is highly suggested. You can substitute that with either acetone or nail polish remover (with acetone).
@@AngelusBrand Ok thanks!
If you don't have a hear gun can you use a blow dryer? If so on what setting low or high
Yes a blow dryer will work just fine.
I mixed Angelus duller and finisher to get a more matte look for my custom and it left me with a really weird chalky substance that didn't dry clear and left residue on my custom. Any tips for application of duller and matte finisher or how to remove this chalky substance?
I bought a pair of Jordan 8s on eBay and the uppers are terrible. The paint is completely cracking off. All the way through. Should I just strip them down completely and repaint them like a ordinary restoration/custom?
The shoes I planned to paint has already some paint removed and exposed the leather. Should I remove the paint from the area where it is (like if the removed paint is at the back, remove the whole back paint) or just paint the spot?
Do you have to put a finisher?
Is there a way to completely remove the factory finish for a better bond without destroying the stitching? I bought a pair of osiris shoes online and im unhappy with my selection. Its hard to find color patterns I like in my size and switching for another color pattern is not an option. What about acetone and emery cloth? They have this gray snakeskin pattern on black i didn't notice online. And, it has a stripe of this gray reflective like material i thought was just regular gray. I dont like things real flashy. I just want regular black and regular gray. So is this even possible or is the stuff in the video the only option?
how much paint would i need to paint a pair of shoes completely? (in oz)
Usually a 1 oz bottle can cover about 3 pairs of shoes.
Angelus Shoe Polish thanks!
Can i paint with it on other materials such as woven or flyknit? I want to paint my oncourt basketball shoes
Loverboy If you want to do materials like that add gac-900 to keep the fabric soft
so I'm thinking about doing something sort of like this my girlfriends snowboard boots. They have a leather vans along the sides and I wanted to change the color. Do you think the paint will hold up in snow and being wet?
Yes, if the boots are leather and the prep is done correctly then the paint should hold up just fine being wet.
Hey guys,
Im starting to do customs and one of my main goals is to make custom football cleats. Do you have any MUST DO tips in order for the cleats to sustain the wear and tear that cuts and running have on cleats? I have heard that minimising cracking is tough so also what is the best way to eliminate to minimise cracking i.e having a very, very flexible paint. Thanks in advance and i appreciate your time reading this.
Spence.
Expect acrylic what material can paint on the shoes?
How do you care for the leather, once it has been finished painting? Can you put leather conditioner and/ or polish on it? I want to paint a pair of genuine leather cowboy boots.
Can I use hairdryer than heatgun?PLEASE PLEASE AND PLEASE ANSWERED MY QUESTION
Do you need adhesion promoter for this?
I have put two layers of a dark blue on and it’s still a bit streaky...I can see brush strokes, how many layers do I need to put on please ?
Hello there! I'd like a bit of clarification about this product:
After applying the Leather Preparer/Deglazer, should I clean away the Leather Preparer/Deglazer from the surface of the shoe before I begin painting? Or should I just let the Leather Preparer/Deglazer dry and paint over it?
You should not have any leather prep residue when prepping. You want to make sure it is dry before applying the paint.
How long should you wait for drying times in between layers if leaving to dry naturally? And can you use a hairdryer if you don’t have a heat gun?
Typically it will take 15-20 minutes for the paint to dry on it's own. For quicker drying times, a hairdryer will work well.
can i put this onmy jordan wolf grey? and does it wash off quick????
Hey Elijah, email us at info@angelusdirect.com we can assist you better there.
After I've done those steps then worn them out a couple of times the angels paint starts to peel of and crack, why is that? Please help 🙏🏽
A lot of the times, this can stems from the preparation process. You definitely want to make sure that you deglaze the leather well. You'll also want to make sure to apply the paint in thin layers and allow ample drying time. That should help get you the lasting results.
@@AngelusBrand thank youuu
Does the heat gun help with anything besides time? A hair dryer on low is ok as well? Can you let it air dry in between coats? I saw another tutorial say to not let the paint dry in between coats because Angelus is acrylic and it will be easier to flake off. Can you please comment?
You can use a hair dryer to help with the drying time. It's also perfectly okay to let the layers dry between coats. If you're painting fabric and using 2-soft, then we recommend using a heat gun because it needs to heat set at a higher temperature.
I just purchased a white nike sneakers online. The nike logo on the sides of the shoes looked red, but unfortunetely it came out to be more dark pinkish rather than red. I preferred it to be red. I just purchased your red color from Amazon, but didn't apply it yet.
I have some questions. Do I need to purchase the finishing product? Can I wash the shoes on the machine or by hand after painting the logo with red color? Does it get ruined when it rains? This is more textile sneaker with leather parts. I really do not want to ruin them but I also want the logo in red.
Hi there! you will not need a finisher. The paint is fine once dry as long as you prep correctly. However if you want the finish to look a certain way, like a satin, then you can apply it once dry. The paint will NOT ruin once it's dry. It is waterproof.
can you guys do a white heel and cage custom on a black ultra boost please?
Can you paint it on Leather Sofa?
Yes and there are whole industries using our product for furniture repair and repainting.
Do I need a finisher over the glitterites? I’ll be doing black base colour the tuxedo black glitterites
The finisher is optional. The glitterlites will not have any fall out and if the surface is prepped correctly then the paints will stay and last. Finisher will provide a little extra protection but will also add a sheen to the project. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
Can I use the colour on my Nike Free 2.0 too? Nonleather on the midsole?
It will start to peel and chip after some wear and tear unfortunately.
@@AngelusBrand okay Thank you though!
What do you think about the Crep Marker? Would that last?
Does it work well on vinyl? Does the finish have to be reapplied all over the shoe since u went over it with the prep
STEP 1In order to prepare vinyl you will need high grade sandpaper and adhesion promoter. Lightly sand down the vinyl with the sand paper.STEP 2After giving it an even sand, wipe down the areas using Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer.STEP 3Once dry, apply two to three even coats of adhesion promoter allowing the shoes to dry between coats.
Can you wash the shoes with the finisher and paint on?
Yep if prepped properly the paints will be durable, flexible and waterproof. The key is to prep the leather with acetone or our Leather Preparer and Degalzer before applying the paint
Angelus Shoe Polish Nice Video and thanks for the quick answer !! :)
Can I paint over a color already on the shoe with white and then put the color I want on top? For example, I want to cover a strip of dark green with the light blue color and was planning on painting the strip white first and then doing it blue but will this work?
Yep, White or some customizers even use Light Grey. Regardless just make sure to do very light layers and try not to clump the paint on.
Does the angeluz leather dye work on canvas. I have a canvas shoe i want to dye in black
We do not suggest using dye for canvas. However our paints work great. When you are working with that Fabric material you can mix our paint with our Angelus 2-soft fabric medium. Mixing the 2 will help the paint adhere on that type of fabric materials. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
What happens if I don't apply a finisher? Will it hurt the new paint?
Sweet vid, just whats i was looking for. Whats the tune paying in the background?
The original song - is Case & Joe "Faded Pictures" - it's been remixed - but Im sure with the name of the original you'll be able to find it as there aren't too many mixes of the song...it's a deep 90s R&B cut.
Love the video, who song is this?
When you add a finish to your sneaker how many coats of the finisher do you add ????
When adding finisher, apply 1-2 light and even coats
@@AngelusBrand thank you
I've seen people using acetone to prep before, will rubbing alcohol work?
Acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer is definitely preferred. Rubbing alcohol may not be strong enough to remove the factory finish. The finish needs to be completely off to allow the paint to adhere to the surface. If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com
Can the white angelus paint be used on a leather shoe? And also can it be used for covering up scratches without having to paint the whole shoe?
Yes, just make sure to prep the area with acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer first. The paint is great for touch ups... Just keep in mind, the colors may not be an exact match so a little bit of trial and error may be required.
Does this work on vegetable tanned leather? How long does the paint last?
Yes, All it takes is proper prep and application. When prepping the leather, we suggest using our Angelus Deglazer to remove the factory paint/finish. This will allow Angelus paint to adhere better to the surface so it will not crack or peel. Also, applying several thin coats of paint rather than one or two thick coats will help a lot more.
How does the paint hold up? Has anyone painted shoes? Do they withstand scuffs or paint peels?
It holds up very well, that also depends on your preparation of the item. Shoes you ask? YES. Checkout @angelusdirect on IG.
Can you use this paint on the soles of the shoes or will it not last?
We don't recommend it. The paint is very likely to chip and crack when applied to soles.
Does this work with suede as well
When working with Suede. We suggest using our Angelus suede dyes. Especially if you are only planning to change the color only.
How do you prevent paint flakes?
First, prep the surface with acetone or Leather Preparer and deglazer then apply light even coats of Angelus paint. 👍
Do you have to mix the white?
No, mixing the white was used to lighten the blue. It's all preference.
so you can put one two drop of duller into some matte acrylic finisher as a last step
Yep, that is correct!
Can I use this paint on the border of sole?
Unfortuantely not. The paint will crack and peel after some wear and tear.
Does it crack?
does this work on something other than shoes, like say a leather jacket?
Yes, any leather items. Jackets, wallets, bags, etc.
All it takes is proper prep and application. When prepping the area, we suggest using our Angelus Deglazer or Acetone to remove the factory paint/finish. This will allow Angelus paint to adhere better to the surface. Also, applying several thin coats of paint rather than one or two thick coats will help a lot more.
sophies work
how many minutes or hours between coats?
Maybe 15-20 mins or so between coats. Just want each coat to be fully dry to the touch. Some people use a blow dryer or heat gun to speed up the process.
