I think Venus Raj was the last candidate to walk to that soundtrack when she was announced last during the Top 5 of Miss Universe 2010. Also, 2010 was the last edition where they announce the 1st runner-up first before the winner.
very true, as a Filipino I want the Rabiya's fan to behave well, like they shouldn't attack other candidates but they still do and usually say "you're not Filipino, YoU Don't support us bashing Indonesians and Thailand." Like it's so pathetic even more. Every year, it's like a tradition for them to bash Thailand even Thai candidate didn't do anything unlike Indonesians. But I can't blame Indonesians to bashing Filipinos because of this attitude. Before I like watching Miss Universe now Filipinos become so toxic than Latinos. They still never move on about Rabiya's lost. They make a video in youtube that the original winner is Rabiya. haha They are so blind for being too fanatic and prideful.

The Philippines 🇵🇭 places 4th overall in the Miss Universe winning streaks. It placed 11-years streaks tied with India 🇮🇳 who also placed from 1992 - 2002. 1st overall belongs to USA 🇺🇸 with 22 years (1977 - 1998); 2nd overall goes to Venezuela 🇻🇪 with 21 years (1983 - 2003); and 3rd overall also belongs to USA 🇺🇸 with another 18 years (1958 - 1975). The 5th overall both tied with USA 🇺🇸 (2011 - 2020) and Brazil 🇧🇷 (2011 - 2020) for 10 years streaks.
Great summary! Their streak has been incredible. Have you seen my videos about the longest placement streaks? They were done before MU 2020 but I updated the streak stats in my MU 2020 review clip!
Venus started it all Shamcey was the most humble Janine was almost there Ariella was charming Pia was the unexpected winner Maxine was the most charismatic Rachel was the so heartfelt Catriona was the most deserved Gazini was the prettiest Rabiya did her best Katrina Dimaranan is the next Miss Universe
Question for TPN: What if Gazini competed in Miss Universe 2020 and Rabiya competed in Miss Universe 2019? What would be their placements? 2019 had the opening speech where Rabiya can excel at with her great communication skills and 2020 doesn't and goes straight to Swimsuit where Gazini can show off her walk.
In my opinion: Rabiya (if she joined in 2019) - at least Top 3, with high chances of winning/1st runner-up finish. She'll definitely own the opening speech. Majority of the Top 10 girls at that time wore gold, and Rabiya's gown was orange, so she'll most likely stand out. We know she'll ace the Q&As, so she'll definitely conquer the Top 5 and secure a slot in Top 3. Gazini (if she joined 2020) - at least Top 5. Her Phoenix walk is perfectly suited for the gowns she wore and kills the swimsuit round.
That would've been wonderful for us if Rabiya joined in 2019 and Gazini in 2020 since all of the placements that the dozen consecutive streak had except for them have been in the Top 10, and those two didn't reach it.
Pageant Nerd is more than that. You see his / her videos are based on pageant statistics and not merely a click bait to attract the Filipino audience. In addition, he / she featured other pageant successful countries too. Have a look. Don’t think of any bias. Check the facts.
@@itsmeferny True. It so happened that the Philippines has achieved a lot within the past decade so they have been featuring PH a lot. Basically, for The Pageant Nerd, better stats = more feature, and the PH has the stats for it.
I’ll definitely try and do more MW videos. I do struggle with the current format of the show, however - there’s simply no competition on finals night so it makes it hard to put together content that comes across as interesting. I love the approach MW has to the BWAP and the sports and modelling events - I just don’t find the final telecast particularly interesting to watch. It’s clear the winner has been decided even before the show has begun…
Hi Pageant Nerd! Fun Fact, did you know that the walk or pasarela of all the empowered and confident Filipinas you featured on this video had names? Do a research about it and you will see why Filipinos is the most enthusiastic fans of Miss Universe. MARAMING SALAMAT PO AT MABUHAY!!! 🇵🇭
Hi Loven! Yes, I was aware of some of the walks - Tsunami, Cobra, Lava - but I didn’t know that all the queens had a name for their pasarelas. Great idea for a clip!
Hey The Pageant Nerd, have you covered the non placements in big 4 after a victory the previous year? Can you cover as well the most victorious country in terms of placements?
I think he has mentioned non-placements after a victory in MU 2020 review (because South Africa didn't place recently), but not yet made a dedicated video for it. Same with most placements overall per country in Miss Universe.
I’d love to update every video I’ve done with new stats, but I simply don’t have the time! And this video was covering the years 2011-2020… But I do plan on updating my video on longest placement streaks, sometime soon!
Nice edit but so sad because of poor video quality of videos and and those watermarks , am lucky because , from 2008-2020 i have this full show all in HD. All this videos is gone now in RUclips. But i like your hard work for this.🥰🥰🥰
Only placing this nation for ratings and reviews. I’d like to see some countries/territories that don’t usually place, actually place. It’s boring seeing the same top 20 every year.
stay mad and angry .... Ph claimed their space and it open doors and reintroduced the world to the diversity of South East Asia. STAY MAD... STAY SAD... STAY IN PAIN. you deserve it :)
Sorry to break it to you, but beauty pageants are business. Having Latinas, and as of late, Southeast Asians placing in Miss Universe, for example, mean more audience (Latin and Filipino pageant crowd are loud and crazy for their girls, as well as Thai and Indonesian fans), and more audience means more ticket purchase and streams, which means more revenue.
Well, the thing is that these countries who usually place in Miss Universe always *put effort* in their candidates. Compared to other countries who barely even support their candidates, Filipinos will always support the girls they send in the international pageants every year. Stop being salty. If a country wants to get a placement, send a strong candidate and work hard for it.
I think Venus was the favourite of the audience to win that night. And I mean, the audience which there was not many Filipinos yet. But sadly, she faltered in Q&A.
Even Sushmita Sen, Miss Universe 1994 (she was one of the judges at Miss Universe 2016) said that Maxine Medina also had a chance to win if she nailed her answer.
