You know I’m Thai and I love Thai and Philippine pageant. Only one thing I annoy is why we always mock each other. I love all my Thai queens and also Philippine queens my fav is Pia Cat Fashai Amanda Annchilee. Please don’t fight against each other we are same asian. We are the cool beautiful woman and country.
I have a Thai friend so i know how great and fun you guys are. I hope we could all get along specially in a pageantry since this is one of the field our countries excelled the most❤️🙂
Yes I want that too but how dare a lot of Thai people insult our people mock us and our candidates and say that we are pagpag country and that Anchilee is better than Beatrice. My country may be poor and experiencing a lot of hardships, divisions in our culture but we are much more than that we Filipino's have our own identity. It's so sad to see the before departure and home coming of Anchilee. Still want to visit Thailand someday. But I know for a fact that you can't deny our talent. We are both asian countries that should be happy and bring each other up enough with the crab mentality.

@Versus TV well, sash factor is an unfair reality. however, i think Ph benefited from it. so we also have to “thank” the succeeding Miss Philippines for raising the “sash factor” even more each year.
@Versus TV i agree. Singapore, Aruba, the Bahamas and Paraguay did very well despite not having sash factor. the pressure for the next Miss Universe Philippines is high. Imagine, you have to continue the 12 year streak but i hope it will be seen as good pressure.

I really don't understand why people still compare Philippines and Thailand when it comes to pageant. Philippines is literally a second powerhouse with Venezuela being the first when it comes to number of crowns in Big 4 pageants- not mention the crowns from minor pageants. If people were to consider being an Asian, shouldn't they compare Philippines with India or Japan? They're really strong and has numerous placement in the pageant. Thailand is definitely getting better but I think they're not on the same foot as the Philippines yet- Indonesia or Vietnam would be a fair comparison.

As a Filipino, I would like to say that although there have been ups and downs in the placements of the Filipina and Thai representatives, both countries have been sending incredible woman each and every year. Same applies for the other countries competing for the crown. Even if Thailand has been unplaced in 2021, Anne did an incredible job. Applause for all those phenomenal women for raising their countries' flag at international beauty pageants.

I’m amazed that even the unplaced representatives from the Philippines really did well. So classy and elegant. It’s evident that they were trained. Although I think at this time, training camps still haven’t found the formula to crack into the semis.

After Catriona in 2018, Thailand keeps trying to find their own Catriona Gray but as you can see, it’s not working. MUT director just wants to beat the Philippines but the harder they try the harder they fail. Sad what happened to Ann... they need to send someone who will bring a new cut to Miss Universe, a new face that will not remind them of any former Miss Universe, most especially the reigning queen.

When Anchilee Joined MU2021, everyone kept supporting her because of her advocacy and I think it's a slap to Coco Araya who body-shamed Catriona just because of her body figure. That is the reason why Thai people hard to earn crowns and placements, apart from QnA they also strive to try not to be jealous of other candidates.

Even a small percentage of Indian people watch pageant it is huge enough to cover an entire nation, because of your population. For me, it’s really a mismatch. Philippines and Thailand cannot be compared to each other, it will honestly be unfair for Thailand to be compared to powerhouse like Philippines since they are still on the process of establishing their country sash in Miss Universe. Thailand can go up against Vietnam or Indonesia. Philippines is Philippines. India is a different topic as they are a “sleeping powerhouse” due to their hit and miss scenario on MU.

I don't know why pure blood, half blood matters. What is this? Harry Potter? A lot of Miss Universe countries send half bloods in Miss Universe too. Miss Universe 2013, Venezuela Gabriela Isler is of Irish descent, Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo has Latina blood in her. These people bash Philippines as if Philippines hasn't proven their power in the world of pageantry. Just to let you know, Shamcey Supsup from MU 2011, Janine Tugonon from MU 2012, Ariella Arida from MU 2013, Maxine Medina from MU 2016 and Beatrice Gomez from MU 2021, all landed in the top 6. So I don't think it's Philippines who has issues sending either half or pure blood because Philippines has proven again and again that they have power in pageantry. Instead of bashing Philippines, support your local candidates.
In my opinion the blood doesn’t count, it’s all about the heart, so even if it’s half but if it spent her whole life on that country then why not.

What a coincidences:
- When there are Philippines and Thailand in the Top 10 , and Thailand ends as Top 10, the winner was from the Philippines. Just like in 2015 and 2018.
- But when Thailand enter the Top 5 along with South Africa, South Africa become the winner, Just like in 2017 and 2019.
But i love those countries. They give a huge impact on stage in Miss Universe every year.❤

Both countries have beautiful contestants. I have always admire Thai beauty in the Miss U stage. Specially maria, amanda, chalita, and aniporn. Though I am Filipino, Asian beauty is just stunning. Japan too! India is given with their striking beauty. Someday, I would really want to see all asians in a Top 5.

I'm still wondering 2008 and 2009 miss philippines representatives why didn't go through to semifinal they are very good both swimsuit and evening gown.
At the turn of the millinium Asian queens were still not making noises, and still just had weaker sash factor. It was when Philippines Venuz Raj made an impact in 2010 that put Asian beauty in the spot light, and being noticed year after year, that give way to the rest of the Asian beauties being noticed.. Thailand followed Philippines popularity, Vietnam, Nepal and lately Singapore are making the cut... and India is bouncing back big time. Seems the Asian beauties are finding their confidence and are now coming on strong... they are now giving the erstwhile favored Latinas and everybody else a strong competition!
Weak sash, 2008 miss philippines wasn't that really good compared to the semi's, and Bianca on the other hand, her dress made her lose and that time it was asian blackout.

Yes, I experienced that myself. Thais and Filipinos have very similar facial features. When I was in Bangkok, I had a friendly dinner date with a pretty and fair young Thai lady who looked like a pretty Filipina. She was introduced to me by a friend of my mother, also a Filipina, who owned a restaurant in the city at that time. I was also mistaken for a Thai because everywhere I went, people were speaking to me in Thai. Thais are very friendly and wonderful people if you really get to know them.

The thing about this pageantry is not really about the placement of each countries. I'd say that lashing each other's countrys out is rather a sing of enviousness. Most Asian people are expecting sisterhood between their very respective candidates and other Asian ones-for them who (mostly reasonable) are neighbours. No shading intention for the other party that mentioned in the vid against the Ph....but as I saw Miss Vietnam and Singapore 2gether with the Ph..I saw no envy or disappointment at all. Yes they were roommates but I personally think that it was because they know it themselves that supporting each other was the only best way they could provide and help spread the word 'friendship' for each generation as well to do the same. Just hope every one as well to not think Thailand aren't worth to win the crown cause every country are deserving...it's just a matter of time. Peace 2 U all✌️
