Adam Rupp said on his Discord a week ago or so that they'd just finished recording all the stuff for the upcoming album, one of which is an original from Bastien. Well, I'll just quote him: "I'll say this. He wrote an original for the next album and I've never had as many tears trying to record a song before." So definitely looking forward to it!
Rob is the best whistler in A Capella ❤ This is only Adam B second time on the stage with Home Free the first was a festival in Lima OH and so not so many people then being the second at The Grand Ol Opry. Adam B said in a live after The Grand Ol Opry he was so scared that he had cotton mouth. I think personally he did really good also you got to remember he got thrown into this way earlier than was expected Austin was supposed to leave in the fall then got bumped up to July then all of a sudden Adam B was on The Grand Ol Opry stage. He may have rehearsed with the guys some but being on that kind of stage in front of 5500 people would be terrifying the first time. They are releasing the first video with Bastien next week
Yeah, it is a bit different sounding than Austin, but everyone else is too. This was only his 2nd show with them & it was THE GRAND OLE OPRY, so...... nerves had to have played a part. He got thrown in way ahead of time, learning songs, his parts, choreography, etc.... his energy & personality def fit in & they'll get it all meshed in. ❤❤
I would have been petrified. Bastien is adorable, has a fun personality, gets along well with the boys and can hit the highs. I would never compare him and Austin just like I didn't compare Chance to Chris.
Tell ninja I know what she’s saying but, this was live, 2 nd time on stage with the group in front of an audience, and that 2 nd performance is on the stage of the grand old Oprah! I know the 2 times I sang on that stage was nerve wracking and I was shaking some so hats off to him for being that good! I think his voice is not quite naturally as high as Austin but it will give them a new sound! Y’all my fav’s! Low bass Kenneth
Hey LBK!!! Whoaaaa re: Rob...we had no idea!!! We are definitely excited to hear more from the guys and see how Adam B. melds. Always love your comments, thank you!! ❤️🥷🏻
I hadn't heard them doing all of Delta Dawn. The first verse of Elvira was Tim , then it was Rob then it was Bastien. I enjoyed watching your reaction to these songs. It's was hard for some people to get use to Chance when Chris left also.
I know this was just his second performance with the boys, but I truly hope they can fine tune it. Not so happy yet, and I’m a die hard Home Fry! God I miss Austin!!❤
I totally agree. Bastien is a very different singer than Austin: different accent, different timbre, different stylistic preferences. It's a bit unfortunate he had to take over mid-tour instead of at the begining of the christmas tour. All the Austin runs and sound is still in my ear and the runs that sound natural for Austin aren't the runs Bastien would choose for himself. Thankfully they had time to change Delta Dawn up so Bastien could put his stamp on it - the runs sounded so much better than the ones in Elvira. Delta Dawn makes me look forward to new songs with arrangements created for the new line up. I'm sure they will impress us with their new sound. And while I'm stil sad that Austin left, there are ten years of Home Free music with him and his ever growing solo work to listen to. And Home Free will continue to amaze me. Thank you for giving your honest opinion - please don't feel the need to apologize for it. We all know you like the guys just as much as the rest of us Fries
Rob is the whistler. Yes, Bastien has a different timbre, I've heard Bastien before when he sang with Chris and it was a lot more of a poppy sound. I'm sure I will love it once I get used to it
He doesn't have Austin's warmth and country sound to his voice. I think you're right, he was singing songs that they did with Austin so some of us aren't going to like it. I think he'll sound great when they do new songs with Bastien ❤
Bastien was thrown into touring far earlier than expected so I feel that he just wasn’t as ready. I would have been shaking in my boots! You said earlier that you thought he wouldn’t blend with Rob. I’m waiting for more opportunities to hear them all together. I think he will settle in soon and we will enjoy a new sound! Happy Home FrYday 🍟 🎶 Cyd (Lawn done, swim over, time to relax!)
There is a video of portions of the two shows out there. Jimmy (videographer) went to both shows and put together an introductory video. He definitely has a different tone than Austin. I’m not saying that’s a negative, just different. Bastien admitted that he was really nervous and scared before this performance. It’s going to take a bit for our ears become accustomed to the different tone. Rob is the master whistler!
@@craigcornwell9576having heard both, I think the performance was tighter on Wednesday. The sound was better balanced. It was fun hearing Chance have a moment to step out of the background on Delta Dawn.
A couple things about the Opry: 1) It's massively intimidating. Not just because it's the Opry, but also the way the audience seating is set up arena-style. It's thousands of people rising up and up and up. I can understand why Bastien said he got cotton mouth as soon as he walked out there. If you go back and listen to their first performance there after lockdown, Austin hits a few off notes and sounds like he's run out of breath at one point. So, I always give a lot of grace for Opry performances. 2) The sound mix is never quite right for Home Free. I'm sure it's because it's not their usual sound guy or speaker setup, but it's just not quite right. I notice Chance's baritone often gets lost in the mix, for one thing. And that affects how well blended they sound. It's just never quite as good. So, again, I try to keep that in mind when I'm listening to an Opry performance.
I'll see them tomorrow and am interested to hear how they are coming together since their first show. This was an honest reaction and I give you credit for it.
Thanks, Dianne! We are very excited to hear NEW music, written with Bastien, to get better acclimated with his style. We welcome Adam B. with open arms!
Bastien has sung just a few times with the group in this iteration. Austin sung those songs hundreds and hundreds of times with them.. it will smooth out. We will have to give it a bit of time. And.....a big part of the secret sauce in Austin's singing is his Southern Twang. Makes it soft and tender.
Maybe Adam and Jerome should move down to Nashville or Atlanta for awhile. 😂 Most of my midwest friends growing up who moved down that way eventually sound like Southerners to me.
: ) ------ As I commented on this previous ... gonna take a lil time for adjustment; that goes for all the guys (arrangements), who moves where and when! Now, on Elvira -- yall said it was Adam ... believe it was actually Rob --- then Adam came in after/later! Now, to be 100% honest -- and this IS MY take on it ... audio isn't the greatest at the GOO for Home Free (other venues have the same issues [lacking])... but we do know "the sound" on and off mic sooooo.... : ) There was some "clash" when Chance came aboard [tones] and oh my since -- blending perfectly... Let's see where it goes! I mean, 10yrs -- yeah, it's gonna be different ... Be Safe
In the Elvira song, the first part you thought was Bastien was actually Rob. Bastien's part was the part that was usually done by Austin, about in the middle of the song. Range wise, Bastien is very comparable to Austin in ability honestly. The tone is different but the actual notes being hit...he is vocally the same. Basically it was a trial by fire here and the second time on stage with them...had to be a nervous situation. Truthfully, what your saying is similar to what was said about Chance after Chris left.....not sure how he would fit etc. It honestly took a little while for people to warm up to him. I mean, the first song that they could actually hear him sing in a recording session was "Try Everything" Once they heard that, everything was fine and no one really looked back.
Hey Lisa! Oh wow re: Rob...we had no idea!! We MUST go relisten (hey, no complaints here!!). Thanks for the info, and I'm sure we'll grow to love Adam B. as much as the others!!
@@musikbyjh With Rob being my favorite voice in the group 80% of the time, I've gotten pretty keyed into his sound. LOL As for the Bastien, it'll take time and like you both said, songs arranged with him included in the group will be the true measure.
If there is whistling in a song, it is Rob! If you see or hear a performance of the song when Rob isn't around, like at a Tim backyard bash or his birthday show, he always finds someone else to do the whistle if he can as it seems while Tim is a great singer, whistling is just not his thing! LOL
@lisaseverance6785 ...I absolutely LOVE Tim's first album from 12 or 13 years ago. So many great songs on that album and Tim was one of writers on all but one of them. Tim's been knocking it out of the park for a long time, and his voice and singing skills just keep improving. He has written SO many great songs over the years. ❤️
Bastien is from Michigan so not as much country accent as Austin. They need some more time to mesh together as a group. It took a while when Chance replaced Chris as will this
Bastien brings a different sound for sure, but I think he’ll fit in well. And, like Jeremy said, the new music will be a better way to gage how he will sound in the group. I’m so used to hearing Austin in the mix, it may take a bit to get used to the new sound. But I love Bastien’s personality and think he will be a great addition to the group.
Thanks for the reaction and your thoughts! This is a long post, so please, bare with me. I'm a huge Austin fan, he was the one who drew me into Home Free 10 years ago this month, on August 16. But I fell in love with Bastien avd his voice when I first heard him with 7thAve 8 years ago, and he was a huge reason why I listened to them. I know he will fit in perfectly with the guys, but also that it will be a different sound and dodgem certain of Home Free that we will be getting, one that we need to get used to. When Chris left it was different to me, because as great as he is I also always felt that he didn't really fit in. Which is funny because he's the founder. But that's how it was to me. When Chance came in he brought what I was missing to the sound. Because I Love Austin and his voice so much I knew that whoever would step in I would have to stay open minded and give grace, for the sake of the new guy, for Austin, for the other guys, for the fans, and for myself. No matter who or would be, it would not be Austin, my all-time favourite singer. It would not be fair to anyone to judge the new guy from that place. I think you touched upon all the things I wanted to say about this recording, except for a couple of things. I'll start with the things you said, and one that's so important. These songs were arranged for Austin avd Austin's voice. Period. It's impossible for anyone else to get that right. Partly because it's what our ears are used to, but also because it doesn't fit Bastien's voice. Bastien was also not supposed to do his debut until this past Wednesday, at the Opry, but was thrown in with only a few days notice more than a month in advance. That's a big deal. He did have some practice under his belt, clearly, but not to the point where he was able to feel as confident as we all deserved for it to be. All these things put together and it would have been spectacularly surprising if it had been to our satisfaction and thrill. Now to the thing you didn't mention, and it's a very important one. The sound whenever they play the Opry never sounds good at the highs, not on air and not on recordings. It always sounds off avd pitchy, even with Austin. I'm guessing it's because they don't have their own equipment and maybe not their own sound guy to adjust the mics properly to each other. This leads me to something I haven't thought about until now, even if they they did have their own equipment and sound guy he hadn't yet had the time and practice to get to know Bastien's voice to get the best blend settings on his mic. I'm certain, that when we get to know how voice and his place in the blend and the group, when we get a few songs under our belts that are arranged with Bastien and his voice on mind, where they can play with his strengths against the strengths of the rest of the guys, we'll grow to love it. It is my understanding, and what I see and feel in him, that Bastien is an incredibly loving, caring, fun, kind and genuinely nice and happy person. According to Austin and Amberly they love him as an artist and as a human, and from what I've seen of him interacting with the rest of the guys they do too. Austin has said that Bastien is very present in the moment, and people who are tend to be authentic and easy to be around, and they reflect your own love back to you. So, while I'm sad the Austin era is over, I'm also excited for this new era. It won't be the same, it's not possible, but it is exciting. I, just like Austin, love and thrive in change. Evolution is inevitable so I choose to embrace it, chosen or not. I felt believe that everything is simply a pointer and stepping stone to more of what we want. This change will not be for everyone, and I can't say how I'm feel about it 6 months or a year from now, but I do know that I will still travel to see them next time they come to Europe. Btw, if you made it this far, we'll get the first song next week. And I'm super excited. I'm ready to move forward! Oh, and you need to start reacting to Austin's solo music, covers as well as originals. There's not a bad one in there. ❤❤❤❤❤
Love Rob's whistle! He is amazing. The woman in the audience is a bit Tim does when someone shows up a bit late. Love Tim's playing with the audience! Jillian, I felt the same way you do. It is an adjustment. Austin is amazing, and I'm sure Bastien is going to be wonderful. Jillian, I loved when you told Jeremy that Jimmy Choo is shoes! I'm probably spelling that wrong! Love you guys! Thanks
Great analysis guys! I think we just have to get used to Bastien's voice. Austin is a very hard act to follow, but i think that once they start recording new music with Bastien, everyone will love the new sound.
I think you got Rob mixed up with Bastien. It was Rob in Elvira in the beginning. Rob is also the whistler in the group. He’s a great whistler. Bastien did ok in Delta Dawn. He is different from Austin for sure. Hoping they do some new stuff so we don’t compare too much but I think he is a little “poppy”. We’ll just have to wait and see. Good one guys!
The country emojis are gone on their responses so I wonder if they will eventually drop the country a capella and go pop. I'm not impressed at the moment, but change is hard. He has a such a great personality. I had the opportunity to hear him with Rupp and Chance as Rob and Buegs had the 3 Adams for a movie game night on The Avid Indoorsman. I just laughed for 2 hours. It's going to take time to adjust to the new sound. I'll see them on September 14,so am looking forward to seeing them live. Austin is hard to follow since he has one of the best tenor voices today. But Bastien will shine in his own light. Thanks for your honest reaction!
@@nanadeborah8717 Chance inadvertently stole that movie game night with his "just got back from the dentist and my mouth is numb" speaking voice. All of them trying to be sympathetic while laughing their asses off was a whole mood.
I don’t think they mix as well. It’s almost like Bastien and Robs voices are too similar in range and tone. I also agree, his high range is not as smooth and more sharp. Now Fries, please don’t come for me, I am in no way saying they sound bad…but I am not going to blindly pretend it’s as good just because…I am also worried they will be less country, or forced country. Of course, I love Home Free and will be excited to see what the future holds!
I think you're right about Bastien having a poppier voice. I'm sure that he was so nervous about being new AND being at the Opry. And he had to learn their whole show in 2 weeks. I think we need to give him a little time to settle in.
I'm sure Adam Bastien will do great with the band but I'm really going to miss Austin's warmer tone - no matter how high the note, he was never shrill. I can't imagine how intimidating it must be to join a well-established group and then make your second public appearance at the Grand Ole Opry! As always, their harmonies, singing & beatboxing were all terrific.
I think this was well said. I like what yall had to say. I made a playlist of HF on the Grand ole Opry over the years if yall ever wanna react! Their last few times they sang the exact same songs, tho. Thanks for the reactions!
I look at it this way. Adam (Bastien, #3, new Adam...you know who I mean) sang with Home Free years ago when they weren't classified as a country group. they only got that "title" so that they could be on the sing off. So I am keeping an open mind. He hasn't really performed as a "country" singer with them. I think it will be fine with new songs that Austin never sang on. I think we are all expecting an Austin double, which Adam is not or ever be. Adam is new. We have to give him the benefit of the doubt. It's a new beginning. Keep an open mind. thanks Double J - always enjoy you guys. Great commentary!! ❤
This is the first chance I've had to hear the "new" Home Free. Wow, what a different sound. Bastien does sound like more of a, for lack of a better term, "do-wop" kind of tenor. He might be more of a natural baritone, but has learned to sing in the high ranges too. His voice is darker than Austin's. Like I know what I'm talking about, lol. Maybe they're going to need to do some new arrangements for the older songs that they keep in the lineup? It'll be interesting to hear the new music. If Darren's still their producer I'm sure he'll help them out and get them all polished up.
I agree with you guys 100%. Austin really was irreplaceable. And don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who got upset about him leaving, or anything. I just generally like deeper voices better, but that's just me. However, that doesn't mean I don't recognize how remarkable Austin's voice was. I think what is bothering me is that now that I'm hearing somebody else singing with them, I am realizing that Austin's voice really helped Home Free have that "Home Free sound," and that's where Bastien needs to find his place. Not very many men can do what Austin does because of his naturally super high tambour, which allows him to have such power in both his chest, head voice, and falsetto. His voice is special. It just is. And so far I don't think Bastien's voice is all that remarkable. He can hit the notes fine, he has stage presence, and he has some runs there and range, but for me, there is something missing that will take some getting used to. I definitely think he has a great voice for blending, so that's good. But it is just too poppy for me so far. My feeling, without trying to be an a-hole, is that Bastien is a great backup singer. That's all well and good, but I don't think he will be able to take over Austin's role necessarily. So now I think he needs a different type of role in the group. Whatever that ends up being, I'm sure Home Free will play to his strengths, and they will come out with some really great stuff to highlight his talent better. I think they are all going to have to redefine the direction they're taking and like you said, we need to hear a lot more to really formulate an opinion. Great reaction as usual!!!
Love this comment, Dani!!! I'm so happy we have such a good bunch of people (Fries) to have these kinds of open conversations. It's important!!! I (Jillian) really resonated with the comment about good backup singer, but realize I have a long way to go to fully appreciate what he has to offer. Only time will tell re: Adam B. and how he fits in the group, right?! Hope you are enjoying your summer, our sweet, spunky friend!!! ❤️🥷🏻
LOL! The voice you weren’t impressed with in the Elvira song was Rob’s. Poor Rob. I was there, the songs sounded much better in person. Bastien did do a really good job. Nobody can fill Austin’s shoes. Plus that isn’t what HF is trying to do.
Bastien doesn't yet (and may never) have the lower range that Austin does. I find I can hear Rob more in these mixes than the ones with Austin. Rob and Bastien did sing together a lot before Austin joined HomeFeee. But that was 11 years ago. It's going to take anyone new some time to settle in. And this is a new direction for him into country music. I think they picked Adam in part because they knew he'd fit in with them, because he was already part of the touring group from before. He might never match Austin's particular vocal prowess. But I'm happy they are continuing to make music. And over time, they will adjust as needed.
I think Austin sings with a more open sound. I think it's called his chest voice. I think it is a cleaner sound but we have to admit that for rushing his entrance into the group Bastien is doing a wonderful job. I agree that they need to get a few new songs in their play book. Remember how long it took for you to appreciate Chance's voice. Still loving all the guys of Home Free!
I know we will miss Austin because change is hard. I have to remember that this is Austin's choice, not Home Free's. We need to give grace and time as the growing pains happen. Bastien is facing a great opportunity and a great challenge. I hope he rises to the occasion as Chance did.
I expect a few bumps in the road for the first few months, especially with the harmonies. Bastien's lead voice is great but the harmonies aren't as tight. On the other hand, people may not remember but when Chance joined that first summer he had some bumps with the harmonies. But within a few months, he fit in perfectly and smoothly. We need to give Bastien a bit of time to get just how the guys do their harmonies.
Their Opry performance this week was markedly better. They’ve had some time to work some kinks out. Rob and Bastien are getting that tenor harmony worked out. It’s not an easy thing to do, but they are both pros and will only get it tighter. I can’t wait for their new song next week. It’s an old favorite of mine. New music, new territory. Good discussion guys. 🎶💕
It is going to take me awhile to get used to this new sound by Home Free. I really miss Austin's voice in the mix. Bastien has a nice voice. I thought Delta Dawn suited his voice the best. I think I will enjoy the new songs recorded by Home Free with Bastien. But the older well known ones with Austin do sound very different to me when Bastien takes over Austin's parts. I am not good with change. Takes me awhile to adapt.
Love all y'all defending Bastien, and I mean that, HF fans are awesome and the most loyal. But just remember, it's ok if you don't prefer his voice in the group as opposed to Austin. It's ok to vocalise that respectfully too. 19:22 100% agree, as they go forward, they've got to write/perform songs with Bastien's voice in mind and the sound will be better. Atm listening to his voice personally, he sounds like he is 'filling' the role of Austin so his voice doesn't quite mesh with the others in a way that makes me go 'wow'. But I acknowledge that is simply because he just joined recently and a recording from a live show lacks audio quality. It will be interesting to hear him 'find his own voice' in the group in time.
@@musikbyjh Know what it is like when you join a new group like when I joined the new choir at church , took me a while settle in and I’m sure he is feeling quite a bit of that - as soon as he relaxes then we will really see what he has to offer
I listened to the latest Opry performance and it sounded identical so I don't think it was just being thrown in. He goes to his head voice way quicker than Austin and the harmonies sounded off. He is talented but very concerned right now.
Phew....thanks for the update, Craig. We are trying to keep an open and optimistic mind. Such a heavy burden for any new band member, especially with an a capella group!!
To be fair to Adam Bastien, Austin was supposed to finish out the tour until fall, so Adam kinda got thrown into this, trying to fill Austin's spot. And on his second show he had to debut at the Grand ole Opry, he was so nervous. But you're right once they create songs for his voice he will be better. But I saw them for the 1st time live last night in Ohio, they had to cut the show short because of lightning, but they were amazing, Adam B. Was wonderful. But for me Adam Rupp stole the show. He got to do his solo right before they ended it.
Thanks for being honest! I'm trying to keep an open mind but it's hard due to Austin being my favorite. I love all the guys but Austin touched something in me from the beginning. I've listened to 2 or 3 songs that Bastien sang with 7th Avenue. I think his voice is fine, even good. I really didn't enjoy any of those 3 songs in this review. I didn't like the harmony of all of them together. Home Free with Austin had (in my opinion) the best harmony out there!!! They always just sounded awesomely beautiful! I will continue to listen & hopefully it will come together more & I can adjust to their new sound. I love the other 4 guys & hopefully I will grow to love Bastien too. I know he is supposed to be a very nice person! That always helps too!
Ya know - it really confuses things when you compare studio recordings and live, which this was. He’s different …ain’t nothing wrong with that. I’m anxious to see how Adam3’s personality blossoms in the mix.
To me, Bastein’s vocal qualities are reminiscent of Austin’s when he first joined HF, before he was letting go of his smoother musical theater training. It’s not a bad thing- there have been times when I’ve preferred that Austin over the later one.
I think it's going to take some time to figure out rearranging to fit Bastien's voice into the old songs with Austin. As you said, this just being his second live show, was a little awkward.
I will reserve judgement until I see songs that were specifically arranged with him in mind instead of Austin. Right now they're just putting a square peg into a round hole, so he won't blend as well as he could. I just saw the new video on Patreon that will release on Friday and it's much more cohesive of a sound. I don't think the guys would choose someone who would jeopardize their future.
I totally agree with Jillian. Bastien needs to prove himself to me more. He's got a little Bieberthing in his voice and I hate it. But when they come to Europe next year(?)I will go and see them anyway
Adam B has a thinner sounding voice then austin for sure. Tone is similar to Rob, but also isnt as full of a voice. Thin is just the word that comes to mind. I wont judge him really until i hear them do new music with him. His solo things were a lot better then this. Delta dawn also was one voice down from their origional cover so wasnt as full of a sound.
And I'd also like to say how much I love that you guys keep it real. You don't just pretend to like something that you don't and that you can also appreciate the tallent even if things aren't your taste. I'm actually quite nervous that I won't enjoy HF as much as I have in the past as so far, their newer mix isn't my cup of tea. I totally will give their new stuff a shot and be open minded. Chance took a minute to shine as well and was such a wonderful addition as time went on. I don't actually like country music, but home free are special. (The bluesy chris stapleton stuff another exception). Question for J&J: if you could have Rob, Tim, and Chance Cover any one song individually that you think they would nail...what would you choose? Too early for Bastien.
@@princessButtercuppI know you addressed this to our hosts, but do you mind if I take a stab at it? Tim- “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”( when Tim sings in “Everyone Walkin’ This Land “ I hear Tony the Tiger; that singer also sang the Grinch song. Rob- “Cara Mia” by Jay and the Americans.
I know what you mean, I don't like country either. But I love acapella. So I love country-acapella, seems I found my Hillbillybone😂
Rob does all the whistling
Rob is the whistler.
Yes, Bastien has a different timbre, I've heard Bastien before when he sang with Chris and it was a lot more of a poppy sound. I'm sure I will love it once I get used to it
Hey guys!! ❤
Hey Vicki!!! ❤️🥷🏻
He doesn't have Austin's warmth and country sound to his voice. I think you're right, he was singing songs that they did with Austin so some of us aren't going to like it. I think he'll sound great when they do new songs with Bastien ❤
That's because Bastien is from Michigan, not Georgia. He's going to sound more like Rob or Rupp accentwise.
@@peggygross7409 I know lol
Bastien was thrown into touring far earlier than expected so I feel that he just wasn’t as ready. I would have been shaking in my boots! You said earlier that you thought he wouldn’t blend with Rob. I’m waiting for more opportunities to hear them all together. I think he will settle in soon and we will enjoy a new sound! Happy Home FrYday 🍟 🎶 Cyd (Lawn done, swim over, time to relax!)
Cyd, we don't know how you do it all, and still make time for us....busy lady!! Enjoy that pool, no one deserves some R&R more than you!!
Bastien was on "She's gonna jump and holler".
They had their 25th Opry performance Wednesday. It was the same set as this one.
And it sounded exactly the same. I thought maybe they would tighten up the harmonies but it still sounded off to me.
@@craigcornwell9576having heard both, I think the performance was tighter on Wednesday. The sound was better balanced. It was fun hearing Chance have a moment to step out of the background on Delta Dawn.
@@peggygross7409 I think I was really keying in on Bastien. Was more referring to the blend then the tightness I think. I misspoke a little there.
A couple things about the Opry:
1) It's massively intimidating.
@@lrfcowperThis is super insightful
The second singer was actually Rob
I think once new music with bastien comes out it will be easier. Cuz with the old songs were going to be puting austin in the place
Most of my midwest friends growing up who moved down that way eventually sound like Southerners to me.
Be Safe
Great comment, Rod. Thank you! And WHOOPSIE on Elvira - after re-listening we see just what you mean. Happy FrYday!!
@@lisaseverance6785 try everything is awesome!!! I looooove Chance's part. It was his 1st video with Home Free. 🥰🥰
LOL
Yep, Tim can't whistle worth a hoot. To hear him try is pretty funny. We love you anyhow, Mr. Foust.
@@justkaron It always cracks me up when I listen to "Champagne taste" from Tim's solo album where he obviously tried to do the whistle 😄
@@justkaron I love that album too. So many great songs on there!!
"I get a funny feeling" is Rob, I'm pretty sure.
That part was definitely Rob. And the whistling is always Rob. Rob is a whistling champ.
Yep. ❤
Anyone else think Rob might be doing a little light whistling at the beginning of "Crazy Life"? There's a certain sound to those early notes...
@@uosuaqhe is.
Ah hah! That could only have been Rob whistling, or Adam Rupp doing his usual "look, we do this all the time on my home planet" kind of thing.
Thanks
Rob is the sweet whistler.
Great analysis guys! I think we just have to get used to Bastien's voice. Austin is a very hard act to follow, but i think that once they start recording new music with Bastien, everyone will love the new sound.
This was also a live performance vs an edited studio mixed, auto tuned recording. Looking forward to seeing them live in Sept & Dec. 💜💜💜
@@lrfcowper Yup. On IG, I commented on Chance's post and ended with, By the way, where's woger wabbit? I laughed through the whole game.
Excellent analysis, J&J! My thoughts, too.
Thanks so much for the nice words AND the playlist offer, Daniel! Sure, we'd love to see / hear!
It happens 😭
I agree that Rob is standing out more with Bastien, so far anyway. Which is a great thing to me.
No one whistles better than Rob. It is definitely a different sound without Austin. Gonna take some getting used to.
nAdam Bastien actually sang with Home Free before Austin.
Great attitude, thank you for this comment and your terrific energy!! We are excited to hear more!!

That's completely ok!! We suspect others feel the same. Looking forward to hearing so much more!
First time hearing new guy , got to hear more before I can make any comment
So smart!

I listened to the latest Opry performance and it sounded identical so I don't think it was just being thrown in. He goes to his head voice way quicker than Austin and the harmonies sounded off. He is talented but very concerned right now.
Update: Hearing some live performances from the past two days and things are tightening up. Makes me feel a lot better.

I think you should re-visit Home Free's cover of *Brothers In Arms* with Jillian. Please.
Sorry Jillian.. I initially misspelled your name.

You failed miserably, your first "Bastien" was obviously Rob at 2:44
Thank you, Karl.
I miss Austin. The sound isn’t the same. Hopefully with time and some new songs it will get better. Still sad though.
Poppy? What does that mean?
A sloppy word for the sound of Pop music. I make up words all the time, Sally. 😭
