My Brother served 20 years in US Marines. Signed the contract after US 9,11 attacks. Served in Afghanistan, and Iraq, amongst other continents. Retired as Gunnery Sergeant USMC. He had more losses from suicide than direct combat.
I served in the USAF for 8 and my brother served in the US Marines for 22. I can vouch for this too. Too many get caught up in the spiral when we get back. It sucks.
What they are showing is Survivor's guilt where they feel guilty for coming back alive when others have died. Most times when friends or family enlist together they are separated. Yet there are still many that suffer from this.
I can attest to this statement. I suffer from this. It is the only issue that I really have, going over there with buddies who I believe to be a POS and should have perished over there rather than the ones who were good. I still sit even decades after and spiral down the abyss. I have tried drinking, not drinking, and seeking professional help to be put on antidepressants, but that feeling of why a POS lives while the good guys die makes no sense to me.
I am a US veteran and I completely understand your questions of why.... My answer to that is I and the rest of my brothers in arms were called to do something bigger than ourselves. We all volunteered so most wouldn't have to. I carry survivors guilt but it doesn't define me and I would do it all again for my country.
This is a very emotional video that not only shows the one survivor living without his friends but also the guilt. It was his job walking in the front to look for the mines buried in the ground but he missed it and then his friends ran over it.
Hard vid to watch when you have lost 2 out of 5 man team. :/ its been over 10 years but not a day go by that I wouln't want to bring em back. We fight for what is right, and sometimes we give our lives while trying to help others.
Thank you for watching this video. Survivors guilt sucks. Semper Fi to my warrior brothers and sisters. We will meet in Valhalla one day. NEVER FORGOTTEN USMC
Lovely reaction by you 2! Emotional song, video and message indeed. Losing someone in such a horrible and tragical way is always hard. Seeing videos like these hits me hard, I lost my father last year in a tragical fire. Came so suddenly and I still can’t get over it, one can never really feel okay. Just try to learn how to live with it. Just subbed and wish u 2 a great rest of the day! 🙌🏼🥰
I was first turned on to these guys by my co-workers. Warren survived the suicide bombing of the US Marine barracks in Beirut in 1983 and Michael survived an IED explosion that killed a few of his friends while he was in Iraq. They turned me on to these guys and I can say, I enjoy them even though each of us have different circumstances causing our PTSD. There is never a good reason for war, never. People often ask why America needs to be all around the world and involved in other nations' affairs. In short, the answer is this: America tried isolationism in WW1 and WW2 only to get involved in both wars. America's involvement in WW1 was only 584 days and still, the US lost 116,708 soldiers. In WW2, the US lost 416,800 soldiers in just 44 months. So, in the two cases where America tried staying out of conflicts, the US lost 533,508 soldiers, in a combined 75 months. Thats around 7,113 caskets per month because of isolationism. Since WW2, the US has fought countless conflicts, for wrong reasons and right reasons, but in 77 years, the US has lost less than 150,000 soldiers. That's 162 caskets per month, not 7,113. There's the justification. Like it or not.
There is a high price to pay for our freedom. But if no one were to sign their blank cheque to serve their country then none of us would enjoy the freedom of speech nor the freedom to live a full and free life that we do today. And there is the justification for serving and being prepared to lay down your life to protect the freedom of others. Many of those who return from active war zones where they lost their friends often feel guilty and wonder why their own life wasn't lost. This is what Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is about, along with the nightmares that are repeated night after night after witnessing battle.
I’m a 4th generation disabled vet living under hudvash for homeless vets. As of right now, the national urban stats center has the homeless vets at about 750,000 and the Veterans Administration as of September 2022 , shows the veterans suicide rate at 44 a day. So if hundreds of millions of Americans have seen these videos in the last 8 years, why has it got worse? Simple, the American people use their freedom not to care enough to stop it. So the vets will continue to pay the price for volunteering to protect that American right. Everyone says, the Government should do more, yet our oath was to protect the people’s freedoms. Funny how that works. But we can get a lot of ❤s and happy crap thoughts of thanks, which makes my walks to sell my plasma to buy soap and toilet paper. But this is just my opinion and who am I. Just one of 750,000
@@suefantastic4584 well thank you, but you don’t know me. You know, I wasn’t trying to be mean in any way. I was just trying to put facts to what people don’t understand. Thank you for at least reading what I wrote and responding. At least one person did.
22 a day lose their lives via suicide.. Heros who cant handle reintegration into society.. Its unacceptable that we dont give them the care they deserve. xo

Another great reaction to another powerful video by FFDP. Thank you from a U. S. Army veteran.
Coming Down is another good one to check out Very heavy subject-matter but a poignant and powerful message behind it
I cry every time I watch this. They did a great job with this. Nice reaction ❤️
first offspring made me cry about it not 5fdp made me crack all over again. God bless them!

Imagine it´s war and nobody goes! The normale man want to live in peace with everyone. Pointless suffering and death. Iwish peace for the world
At the end... the black bracelets on his wrist show fallen brothers.

Thank you from a homeless vet.
another good Five finger death punch song is Coming Down
My husband was in the marines for 20 years he went to iraq and came home in a wheelchair his war never stops
Hey, but this is the cover. 😮 Originally it is The Offspring's song, probably their most heartbreaking song.
The lead singer is a Veteran and I think most of the band are as well.

'Offspring' done Original Gone Away....Faster
Personally I prefer the original offspring version
I really don't like this version of Gone Away it's too slow & the singer's voice sounds like it's being auto tuned.
You guys definitely should react to the original by the Offspring. Here's a link:
