A770, RTX4060 and RX7600 all around the same price (more or less) new. Of the three id pick the RTX due to its 115w power draw compared to 225w of the Arc and i think its 180w for the RX. All are very similar in their capabilities though.
For the same price second hand though, id go RX6700XT.

i think that intel have a long way to go to gain the mindset of the public. it's great that they have and continue to work on the drivers. i hate to say it but AMD's numbering of their GPUs to show which of the GTX/RTX cards they equate to helps me know what sort of performance to expect but with the intel ones i have no clue, so to me it would be helpful if they kinda got on that bus.

Intel uses the CPU tier divisions for the GPUs.
      Arc 3, Arc 5, Arc 7, and presumably Arc 9 someday. Just like i3, i5, i7, i9.
The first number in the name also signifies this. For example, the Arc 3 A380 is a budget entry level card, and the Arc 7 A770 is a midrange to high-end card.

I have the Acer Predator A770 16GB card and love it. Jamming New World at 1440p 90fps 4K I get 45-60fps. Quiet and runs around in the low 70's C. No issues with stability. Jam 12hrs straight not one issue. BF2042 plays okay, but if you are looking for high FPS look somewhere else. BF2042 is playable at 1440p. Image Quality and colors IMO are much better than Nvidia and just a bit better than AMD. Had a buddy stop by and his first comment was WOW your colors look so much better why? Good update Yam Yam. And I can't agree more about ARC control and the need for a hotkey for recording. I don't like the pop ups when you get to desktop either. Also, every time I install drivers it gives that "your system is not compatible" error message. Have you seen it yet in you testing? I am wondering if it's because I paired it with Zen3 and it's referring to deeplink support? I studiously ignore it.
BTW, This latest driver update failed the first time when doing a clean install. It rebooted and when it was back at desktop the audio drivers were missing. I reran the update without checking the clean install box and that did the trick. I have updated drivers probably a dozen times or more on this ARC card so I consider it a one off.
I use the A750 LE with a 55" 1080 TV so none of the problems with multiple displays. Starfield with the new Steam beta is a big performance improvement using hardware XeSS. Looks much better than FSR as well.
I don't stream, so you have my vote to test it out. Interested in how it goes.

The only real issue I faced during my seven months (March '23 to October '23) daily driving an Arc A750 LE were the drivers would sometimes seem to partially crash when I didn't reboot my PC for a long time. There would still be a visual display on my monitor and I could do general tasks, but I wouldn't be able to playback videos, run games, or screen record. Rebooting always fixed it. Beyond that, I just didn't like its relatively high idle power draw (around 30W for 1080p 60Hz). I feel like the perception of bad drivers was overstated, but admittedly I don't play a lot of games, especially not new AAA titles where Arc does seem to struggle.

    • @ProYamYamPC
      @ProYamYamPC  5 месяцев назад

Did you do a full DDU when you encountered the driver issues? As for the idel power draw, mine is around 30W too. But it's lower than a lot of Nvidia cards I've tested (usually around 40W).

    • @freudia
      @freudia 5 месяцев назад

@@ProYamYamPC No, I don't suppose I did. It was a minor inconvenience and helped remind me to reboot my PC, so I never really tried to see if it were fixable.
As for idle power, I see about 15W on a GTX 1660 Ti, 10W on an RTX 3050, and 7W on an RTX 4060 Ti (1080p 60Hz single monitor). Perhaps it's higher for higher tier cards.

I bought a a770 and used it for a year. I have a 4070 super which costed about double, but gives about double the frame rate for a bit more power wattage. I am super tempted to just return the 4070 super and stay with the arc a770. Cause it wasn't a bad experience and Nvidia has bugs I do not like. No av1 exporting in davinci relosve free, and second monitor video playback lagging and monitor not waking up from sleep when 2nd monitor plugged into motherboard rather then GPU. I tried everything and man such a headache for what's supposed to be a good Nvidia card.

    • @AshenTech

i went from a 1070 to the a770 when newegg got their 2nd batch of acer cards and, every RTX user i know has complained about how nv have f-ed up multi monitor support.
as to video lagging... is it in chromium based apps/browsers?
if so, its nv's drivers video acceleration being borked with chrome.. the only fairly consistent solution i found for that is the vulkan beta drivers that... rarely break anything just add more vk support for upcoming vk features.
and.. i know a few people who sold 3080's after getting a770's because they could get over 2x the money and, in some cases not lose any fps at all.. hell in a few betas we are in.. they gained because 10gb vram even at 1080 is not quite enough these days...
try waterfox if its a browser lag issue though, we discovered this 8+ years ago and you can find my buddies reddit thread still getting replies all these years later.. lol

I've used my A770-16LE since late December of 2022.
In the simracing titles I run, I have not had a single crash.
That's not to say all is perfect. AMS, AMS2, AC, ACC, RRE, LFS all launched and ran flawlessly.
Sadly...but understandably, it took a few weeks of updated drivers, before RF2 would even launch.
The first few driver installations were not great. The installer would crash after gathering information prior to installing the driver.
I had to download the driver's exe file...extract it using 7zip...then manually install the driver from the Device Manager.
That lack of a game recording capture hot key is an annoyance. It has kept me from using that feature since buying the GPU. I'm still having to use OBS.

The 6700XT was bought out of necessity after my 1080Ti died and my 1080Ti ran unbelievably smooth. I know im probably taking a performance hit but if the Arc 770 is anywhere as good as the 1080Ti then i'll be plenty happy as I dont play all the latest and greatest AAA titles anyway.

After using the built in driver update function to update driver, it was not able to connect to the sever to check for update, so I have to DDU every time to update the driver
The screen might black for a second randomly, but it just happen might be like once or twice a week
Some old game, such as Sherlock Holmes might have a bit graphical errors or low performance (but didn’t tried in these few months)
Cossacks 3 had very bad performance (didn’t tried to play for few months)
Sinking City might have a little stutters but still playable
Other than that, the cards is quite good. I love my card!

I have been running arc since amd killed support for my radeon vii. Im running am asrock a770 phamtom gaming 16 gig and it runs flawlessly. Ive had minimum issues and intel quickly fixed them. The only thing i wish they would add was a fps counter in the metric overlay

I haven't. I can't say how well VR performs on the Arc A750. If I had to guess, it should be better than launch. But I encourage you to watch a channel which focuses on VR, so you can get the best recommendation!

5:10 it is my opinion that ARC was made for content creators who occasionally game. Just look at it, that does not say gaming. I think Battlemage is where things are gonna get reeeeaaallllyyyy interesting!

A770 specs wise is comparable to a 6800 xt, but drivers pull that down to a 6650 xt, the price point is that of a 6650 xt as well. If the drivers were in a better spot as there is the couple titles that they just fail with but most no issue, you would never find these in stock.

I used a Vega 8 APU, they simply refused to give it RSR, which definitely have 0 technical issue, it was so disgusting.
After that, they simply ditch GCN cards while it is still very capable. On the other hand, Nvidia, they are still supporting GTX900 series.
I really glad that I sold my Vega 8 APU computer after a year that there is no sign AMD would give it RSR.
