What seems more shaky is your steering input. You're not someone who drives like Sir Jackie Stewart at least, who is of the camp the smoother the better.

In my opinion it cant always be smooth, as a racecar has a stiffer suspension, and no comfort + the bumps on the public road that longbeach is, the shaky headcam just makes it much more realistic.
Was fine for me, didn't have any issues watching with VR or shaking, if anything made it more realistic, like the helmet cam. Nice race there Jimmer!
Jimmy, look at your view settings. G movement and world movement. It will help the VR shaking people will comment about. Drop them down to the 15-25 range.

Dude though its a good idea to set them as you say ... even if you set it to 0 it will still shake when driving with an OSW and talking , unless some how Jimmy mounts his Rift on a chicken head on-top of his own head to stabilise it.
well...he does have some nearby chickens.
though I doubt they'd want to be parted from their heads =O
Not on an OSW here - V2 Base and GT Omega Rig - but I think in the VR videos I've published in pcars2 seem stable in comparison. I'll update my post with the exact numbers I'm running after work.
To add, the excitement alone in this video is worth the watch. Keep up with the VR content! VR needs to be shown in all its glory as its a game changer in our application.
I think it looks more raw as it is. Like the real Indycar helmet cams.

Racing can only be commented on with that accent. Any time an american does color commentary for racing it's cringy for me. You really get the sense of the race with him.

I hope they add the 2018 aero kit cars down the line, or if not pCARS2, then some other game gets them. They look fantastic and from early reports should drive fantastically too.

You got me really hyped for this game! Lol I thought the first one was GREAT, after you're done tweaking with settings FOREVER and getting them the way you want lol. Hopefully this one you won't have to fiddle with the settings to much to get the feel right. Looks amazing!
Really respect your opinion on sim racing titles. As an Xbox user I have high hopes for Project Cars 2 and I was taken down a notch by your first impression video. Great vid Jimmy. If random buttons are activating on your wheel, it's likely an electromagnetic interference (EMI) issue due to your servo motor. I had the same issue, and you need to ground the servo motor to get rid of it. Your HE pedals controller should have a ground pin you can access and use a wire with lug terminals connected to your servo motor somewhere. That should hopefully sort the issue out.

AshRichardson F1 hahaha I know he's just playing with the wheel so much. he should try being smoother like Lewis H. He's probably scrubbing so much speed, and making the car unsettled by doing it.
IndyCars don't have power steering, so you feel every bit of the road. The aerokits in the game also have the big bumper pods which add a lot of weight to the rear, so you constantly have to make corrections on the wheel. The aero also isn't as efficient as an F1 car, so smooth inputs aren't much of an option. Watch any of the helmet cameras from IndyCar drivers and you'll see them working the wheel just as much.

you need to try out some gokarts if they have those in pcars 2. they were a blast in VR on pcars 1. only thing i really enjoyed about the game actually. if u think that open cockpit is amazing just imagine being able to look down and see any of the 4 wheels u choose and drive that wheel straight into that apex. another great video jimmer and i was cheering for u as u took the outside on the last corner. well done

Lovely video and driving there, Jimmy =). There's a night and day difference between your first video on PC2 and this. Very happy to see you've come around to see the good in the title. Also glad you can overlook the AI weirdness and focus on the positive in the physics/handling/ffb.
Advice I would give is to try out he dynamic stuff. Set up a scenario, where you have a long stint... _really_ feel those tyres overheat/wear down over a longer drive and sense how the car becomes more nervous over time as you get less and less grip and the fuel gets lower. Also, of course, try out the weather! =) Hint - if you drive the same track in the same atmospheric conditions at different times of the year, the track temperature may vary enough to warrant using different tyres altogether! (Think GT3 and softs vs hards - the softs are your weapon of choice in low temps and melt in moderate-high heat scenarios; hards are your choice for anything not wintery that needs to last a whole race)
Everyone complaining about the shaking lol when in real cars the cam shakes too so IMO makes it more realistic

Man, I don't understand why people just does not like the "shaky" cam by the VR. For me it adds live to the video. Remember that when you drive a race car, your head is constantly moving.
But in a video it's not your head that is moving, but somebody else's.
Erik2Ammo But the helmet cam/POV cam it's made because of that, watch the Driver's view! It's kind of artificial to watch a POV about a race car without shaking or vibrations.
But it's just an opinion, Jimmy will decide if quit the shaking or not.
I understand, but when you move your own head you don't get a shaky image. That's what making people feel sick when they watch videos like this.
I can't wait for this game!!!!!! Especially after being let down by Codemasters with Rally 4 having no VR support. They really dropped the ball on that one.
Jimmy I hear you say in your video that basically speaking project cars 2 is very good and exciting and you wish you could have said the same for project cars, I just wonder are you basing your opinion on the game its self or does the fact you have a new sim racing rig and VR come into those opinions? Just curious as from a viewers perspective I would imagine with your current setup project cars might also be just as exciting???

if there's one thing i can say about VR is that it's a first impression's booster. but it's a gimmick that wears down FAST.
last year i played a 30 lap f1 race in the original pcars using a vive and a thrustmaster tx. after it ended i was just glad i could take that damn thing off. i just wanted to go back to my ultrawide screen and play normally. vr is mentally exhausting (everything is blurry as fuck and it kinda constantly forces your eyes), and physically uncomfortable.
GraveUypo damn I just bought an Oculus rift out of curiosity since the price dropped. Hopefully I’ll enjoy it.... never tried it before
I love street circuits, I hope they start putting more of them in sims. St. Pete, Toronto, and Trois-Rivieres are all incredible circuits.
