What is the Timeline project? Basically, you'll see all of the story events as they chronologically happen. Which is seemingly easy to do, but...if you're familiar with Kingdom Hearts, then you know the series is so full of flashbacks, callbacks and retcons, and it's extremely easy to lose track of them. I always like to think of the Timeline as an experiment. I wasn’t sure if it could be a welcome one but, somehow, it was so well received that it exceeded my expectations. The original 2018 Timeline was just a way to re-live all of the Kingdom Hearts titles leading to KH3, in a different, yet familiar way. I never had plans to go back to it, as I was fully aware of all the flashbacks and callbacks that could be added in the future titles. I don’t really like the idea of uploading new, fixed episodes every now and then, as it would just confuse all of you (and, more than anyone, myself!). But I've seen so many requests of seeing this project to be continued that I decided to go on with KH3 in a special way. I can’t stress enough the purpose of this project-this doesn’t want to be the best or the perfect way of experiencing the Kingdom Hearts saga. All of the titles should be played following their release dates. The Timeline is simply an alternate way of experiencing the story we already know and only players who already played the games should watch it. New players would be spoiled about some plot points, so be warned. This project gives you a different perspective on specific events, and the adding of new musics, flashbacks, callbacks and secret reports, makes the whole experience even more unique and immersive. Woody roasting Young Xehanort on saying _"My guess is no one's ever loved you before. Because you know nothing about hearts and love."_ followed by _"You’re Hollower than any Toy"_ was a good takedown on Xehanort. Still following the release of _Dark Road,_ that scene kind of hit differently as it did painted Young Xehanort in a different light and I think Xehanort’s experiences in the Disney worlds and what happened to his classmates Heimdall, Helgi, Sigrun, Urd, Hermod and Vor being slain by Baldr really changed him dramatically.
Got to love you use the Orchestral remaster of the King of Toys fight theme (Skyward Striker) from the World of Tres Orchestra album, and it makes me even more excited on the Anger Unchained orchestral score for the Grim Guardianess and Sköll boss fights once you get to Kingdom of Corona and Arendelle. For the Lump of Horror fight in Monstropolis, keep the build up score of "Unforgettable" from the original game without using the one from the KH3 soundtrack. But on the subject on Toy Box, I think it’s one of the best Disney Worlds in _Kingdom Hearts III_ by a mile, I just enjoyed the world and Sora and the gang’s friendship with Woody, Buzz and the gang and the adventures they had in Galaxy Toys. I realistically see this world and Arendelle (as much as the VAST majority detested the world) from _Kingdom Hearts III_ as the likely returning Disney worlds to appear in future _Kingdom Hearts_ games besides Olympus and 100 Acre Wood.
I should never have doubted the amount of effort in this, even lightly. Formchanges are HERE! And Sora's first is by the power of Toy Story friendship. Magnificent.
Woody: my guess is no one's ever loved you before You have no idea Now that we had Dark Road give us context to Young Master Xehanort, there's not as much truth to his words 6:32
there's still truth, the way xehanort acts is as if no one's ever loved him before, that's why woody can make that guess... which comes to increase the value of the story in the way that, he had love before, but now he's hollower than any toy
Looking back, Woody and Buzz were really key in driving home Sora's motivations and how he can go through such tough choices later on, thus awakening his Power of Waking. :)
@@BlaxeFrost-Xbecause there's barely anything to write a text from. Whatever development Sora may have had was undone by the game's end, and it proved the journey was unnecessary, because the Power of Waking "was inside Sora all along", and none of the new Princesses played any part in the upbringing of the real Kingdom Hearts.
This Xehanort is interesting because he has experienced pretty much nothing from his life, he’s a kid who’s been gifted power, knowledge, and purpose without any of the build up. Not surprising then that he is hollower than any toy.
Here something I geniuly want to know if anyone does, WHY are toy donald/goofy costumes so good, why didn't they get new drip, mickey got new costume after all. I literally thought for the trailer of toy story world that they were wearing new outfits but we don't get to see till the next trailer
My guess is two episodes for the shorter worlds, three episodes for the bigger worlds. (Due to how much content is stuffed into The Caribbean in KH3, that might need four episodes, although it depends if Everglow considers that content to be part of the world's story or not.)
I had a feeling that we’d see the Dark Road flashback. I wish we had a fight with each organisation member too in the worlds. That seems like a missed opportunity for me.
To be fair, KH2 tried that sort of thing and only one of them (Xaldin in Beast's Castle) was truly done right. (Being that he was also killed right in that world. Obviously, for most of the real Organization members in KH3, that can't really happen.)
Our heroes now have to rescue Buzz. They soon find him along with Young Xehanort and Woody gives him a heavy lecture about friendship that Young Xehanort no longer understands, made all the more heartbreaking with the flashbacks of his dead friends from his days as a Keyblade wielder. Sora, Donald, Goofy, Woody and Buzz now have to deal with a large Heartless, and part ways. Soon after, Riku and Mickey share some information with Sora and his friends about the Organization’s plans. To Infinity and Beyond!
There's something very interesting and deep in Sora's comeback against Xehanort. He touches on the fact that light is not inherently good and darkness is not inherently evil, which at this point in the timeline is something only Riku has pointed out explicitly (Riku to Xemnas, ~end of KH II). Thanks again for making this series! The production quality is insane 💕🌟 🌟 🌟
Also, fun fact! When the boss here does it's DM, there's a block on top of it you can Airstep to, giving you enough height to launch a Dive Attack against the boss, cancelling it's DM and letting you whale at it with impunity! That's all! PS. Switching Keyblades to the world-related ones will be a recurring thing for this part of the Timeline, huh? Wonder if they'll appear again later?
Toys are not always friendly. The best proof of that is Kairi (let's be honest, that's how she's treated). There's a theory I heard, that wether she realizes or not, she breaks whatever fate Riku and Sora have in store for themselves, as she always pulls them out of their cyclical conflicts. Analysing canon and the fic series "Sea-Change of Fate", I'm inclined to agree. Ahhhh...She'd make such a good nemesis against Luxu.
Thanks again for the video. I was also glad that you included the transformation formchanges. I was kinda worried that you weren’t showing them before. Is there a reason for that?
From this episodes it convinces me more that the conversation Master Xehanort, Xigbar and Saix had about the vessels is after what happened at the Toy Box. After all, in Twilight Town and then in the world of Toy Story, the Organization was still trying to fill the last spots, which would have been filled by Xion and Terra, and I think this would have happened after they had their confirm on what they were doing in this world...
The bit with Terranort seemed to not require Toy Box; In fact, going by Young Xehanort's words in Toy Box, this was probably when the real Organization were starting to put two and two together regarding Xion. (In the vessel conversation, it seems more like they were milling about the concept, but hadn't quite figured it out.)
This video came on a little later than usual. Much like Missing Link... Ah well, we got one world down! Five more to go until the endgame! *SPOILERS* Adding those Dark Road flashbacks...They still hurt... Although considering this Xehanort has yet to meet his to-be classmates, I imagine he only saw the outcome of his studies there and not the pain and tribulations he had gone through to get to where his present-day self would end up right now. Hence why he still acts cold and calculating here, not to mention the whole 'I'll forget everything I did here when I go back' deal...
Woody confronting Xehanort is a peak Kingdom Hearts moment. I love that you added flashbacks from Dark Road! I’m only bothered by the fact that Toy Box leaves a kind of “unfinished business” feeling. We never get to know if Woody and friends will ever find Andy. Also, the whole “this world was split in two” part felt a bit unnecessary in my opinion.
You aren't the one who would have had to negotiate IP rights for all the other toys. I'm pretty sure that person thinks the world split was a crucial feature...
It was an excuse to separate humans and many of the returning characters from Toy Story 2 from appearing in Toy Box. A lazy-written scenario unfortunately
The separation makes sense from a storytelling perspective since they'd already setup a similar scenario in DDD (specifically Traverse Town). Also, we do get to know that Woody and Friends reunited with Andy thanks to the scenes playing during the credits.
@ yeah, but how do they manage to get reunited? How do they overcome such a huge problem as the splitting of their words in two parts? We never know. And yes, the separation of worlds was already in DDD with Traverse Town, and I didn’t like it back then, either. Seems to me an unnecessary over complication that serves no real purpose. There were countless of ways to justify the separation of different characters without going as far as “sorry, it’s the WHOLE WORLD that has split in two”. I find this is somehow typical of many Japanese media, they introduce these totally random elements that complicate everything and achieve nothing. I think DDD with its whole time travel stuff did just that on a bigger level, in fact it’s my least favourite in the series.
