Why? There are already V4 SSs, why do you want another one? The KTM is ther last V twin standing, and it is, as you already know, a blinder. So why would you want them to abandon the greatest bike engine configuration? Personally, I dread the day when nobody produces a big bore V twin
My first bike is a 2010 Hyosung GT650 naked and my second is a 2014 GT650R, now I will probably never need any more power than what these two have, but thanks to them I am very partial towards v-twins and just fell in love with the sound and the rawness of this engine configuration, maybe not all bikes are raw like mine I don't know, but still, I love v-twins, and I wish they were used for most new bikes instead of parallel twins. I will never own this bike, it has over 100 hp more than my bikes, but it sure is brilliant and a darn good job done by KTM!
I own the first generation BMW, S 1000 XR. It was a great bike, Even though I’ve been riding all my life, I couldn’t even barely tap into its potential… but I can’t imagine, riding that beast of a KTM, with almost double the torque!!!!! 😮 but I still wanna ride one just once!!! 🏍️
1390 Amazing bike , and you are wright , all the electronic controls are great if you don't know how to ride a high powered bike , I only got a 890R but alway's ride it in track mode with slip to 1 (minimum) AWM off and supermoto mode on (ABS only on the front) so I can really feel the bike .
The one thing that rly puts me off buying one of these and waiting for next gen MT10 is reliability.... Gonna do this year on my MT09 and hope for a new MT10 2025 then make a decision..
the styling is awesome like from one of those transformer movies or that Terminator 4 where in the future we are showed some Terminator bikes chasing the heroes
The only thing I would change with my gen3 is the gearing 6th unless to high . to much gap between 3-4 or5th so lower the front sprocket as a get around . Anti wheelie not just on or off be nice . Think the gen4 sorts all that out . If they solved the air in clutch slave cylinder problem out . Then sorted .
When it comes to doing the naked bike group test, against the KTM 1390, how about testing the more comparable basic BMW M1000R, which is sub £20K and has all the bells n whistles as standard, without the bling.
I always say liter bikes are pointless on the streets, my bikes have 72 hp and I can hit jail time speeds while overtaking cars in sixth gear, don't even need to downshift. However, I still love seeing all these big beasts on the streets. So even though others are buying them, I'm still enjoying them! And let's not forget all the tech and R&D that is put into these bikes eventually trickle down to the smaller bikes, I say it's a win all around. I just hope stupid regulations don't kill the petrol engine for the entire world, electric bikes are dumb.
@TROdesigns that's not skill, anyone can hold the throttle open and go fast in a straight line. Actual skill is cornering and braking on a track. Lap times
21k is a lot of money for a full thech pack bike and that’s without the full system looks amazing now in the other hand I bought a brand new 1290 in October last year with all tech packs unlock and 4 years Ktm warranty for £13500 so I put the Akra full titanium system . Absolutely not regret even after see the beats 1390. Provably I will change again in very few years when KTM produce a V4 . 🫶
Why not? There's plenty of dyno evidence for previous itterations of the bike to suggest that KTM aren't massaging their numbers. The variable valve timing alone would make that sort of power relatively "simple" to achieve from the previous 175bhp.
@@tubejorrit My feelings entirely. Isn't it funny how so many people are willing to accept 200+bhp from a 4 of virtually anty configuration but 300cc less, but can't accept that a VVT 1300 twin can make 180+bhp?
@@radiocrash Top speed has F*ck all to do with max power, you donk, sorry. Jeez, is this what UK education is pushing out these days? question, WTF did they do to that headlight?
They used modern optics and lighting tech. Nowadays you can basically design as light in any shape or form you care to, or didn't you know?
