  • 2022 was a year of wonderful accomplishments for Ruth Negga. The phenomenal actress took home the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female for "Passing," opened on Broadway opposite Daniel Craig in "Macbeth," and stared as the legendary Josephine Baker in a limited television drama series. At SCAD, we honored Negga with our Spotlight Award during the 2021 SCAD Film Festival, a festival that fell in love with her after screening "Loving" in 2016. On this episode, hear from Negga as she sat with SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace to discuss "Passing," its ripple effect as a history lesson, and what she seeks to pursue as an artist.
On Creativity is a SCAD original interview series featuring conversations with visionaries in art, design, and entertainment, hosted by SCAD President and Founder Paula Wallace.
