You can't compare the F Type to the XK, having had both, the XK is in a league of it's own, they just had to work on the interior, also what camera do you use, good video!
Nice review, well balanced. The XK (380bhp, V8) and XKR (510bhp, V8 Supercharged) are hidden gems in the luxury sports car market, especially 3-4 years old with low mileage. They are not as sharp (or as common) at the 911, R8's or even the new F-Type but softer GT's for half the price of the Bentley Continental or Mercedes SL. They are not your everyday car or even track day cars but something for the weekend sir. Timeless style, thanks to the classic design lines of the Aston Martin, and within its heritage is there with a courteous doff of the cap to the E-Type 'shaguar' from 60's. The XK is understated, smooth and powerful. Not in your face. It's not a track day car, it's a luxury cruiser with a naughty streak. The V8 purrs or growls depending on your mood. The 510 bhp will achieve light speed, galactic hyperspace from 40mph to 90mph with alarming ease when required for an overtake when the road permits. When the rest of the world is in a hurry and trying to compete with you, sit back in comfort and leave them for dust. Full aluminium chassis and frame makes this car light and the technology ensures every horse gets it's chance as it's balance and poise is perfect, maybe a little light over 120mph... but seriously, that shouldn't be too frequent. Huge torquey V8 up front under a long sleek bonnet, with the drive train urging the vast back tyres to catapult you in the direction of desire. For those questioning the future of Jaguar, now part of Jaguar Land Rover. They don't sell the mass market volumes of BMW, Merc, Lexus, Porsche, but with sports cars, that's a good thing. There is nothing worse than arriving at an event and seeing 20 identical cars as yours to remind you, you're not special. The F-Type and F-Pace 4x4 coupled with the XF is selling very strongly and it's Land Rover bigger brother is shifting huge volumes globally. Jag is here to stay, it's found it's niche. Jaguar has a personality, it has a heritage, it has an attitude of grace, space and pace. I couldn't think of a better Sunday drive. Nice review, let's not compare it to the F-Type, it's not an angry graduate, it's a well-groomed English gent.
Ones a man's car, ones a boys car. Would love the XK to get the interior and infotainment upgrades but keep the mature look. Its already a Jaaaag; does not need to try to look like a muscle car.
A well composed review. The XK was more of a GT whereas the F-Type was a sports car. But seriously, what person who can afford a new Jag is going to drive across Europe, or anywhere else, in these times? That era was over decades ago. So now it's all about flash, performance, and luxury. And thanks to strong leadership and funding from Tata, Jaguar remains in the hunt.
Didn't GM, Chrysler and Fiat face bankruptcy? Do Pagani, Koenigsegg and Bugatti have combined sales that rival Lexus RX350? I have driven Lexus LS models since 1994 and wouldn't have anything else as a daily driver but we're talking about a GT here. This car is a true Gran Turismo. I've owned and driven some of the worlds best and have never gotten the enjoyment let alone the reaction from people, many who are obviously not really car people. Reliability? Check the forums before you judge on very old Jaguar reputations for reliability.
An F-Type does not look better than an XK.Only the rear tail lights look cool and of course everybody is under the impression that an F-type looks cooler, but we all know the reason behind it is because it's only a new design. The F-Type headlights look like something they did back when the 1st ford Focus came out in the early 2000s.Those headlights on the F-type alone are an ugly ass no go
When I bought my XK it was between the XK and the F-type. In the end, I went with the XK because it was more subtle, more classic, more elegant. Although I have absolutely no regrets on the choice I made, the F-type still causes me to gawk every time I see one. They're both beautiful cars - just depends on personality type and desire as to which one you buy.
yes, he's natural but his facts about Jaguar is all wrong. Jaguar is not one of the fastest growing luxury car companies. In fact, Jaguar is a DYING BRAND that maybe not exist soon in the future because no matter what it does or has done in the past, the Jaguar brand just keeps on going down to the hill toward oblivion.
Sorry yank you'll never understand British restraint. The XK is in a different league stylistically! More aggressive lines doesn't make it 'better'. Was Jags way of appealing to the masses. They'll bring out equally beautiful electric GT in few years you wait.
The XK look like all the compliments you gave F-Type times 10x An F-Type is an ugly piece of shit compared to the XK.F-Type almost looks like an ugly ass GT-R and even the GT-R fans say they ugly.Everybody sees an XK and it turns heads everywhere, and an ugly F-Type can't do that.I know it would be bad azz if they gave the XKR the F'Type rear end look and it would look like a bad ass exotic car
It don't make sense to discontinue a car that created a stable foundation financially and for people to really know the bad ass sports car that Jaguar got famous for. That alone is ANOTHER REASON for people to lose faith in a company when they disregard and disown products that they make.People are afraid of wondering how would they get any service out the dealership if their car is discontinued without any parts for it?THE ONLY TIME a car should EVER be discontinued is if it's HORRIBLE AT SALES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Now that alone ONLY makes sense to discontinue a fucking car. Also why discontinue a sport car that MADE the fucking company famous again? That's like Ford Discontinuing the Mustang or like Chevy discontinuing the corvette.Like omg forreal...WHERE IS THE LOGIC IN THIS???????????????If anything,You would want to keep improving the XK with newer models and drop the silly ass F-Pace suv's cause that shit dont make any sense anyway.Focus on an even more new redesign Jaguar XKR and discontinue the Weak XK standard model, and make them look more like a fisker Karma and an Aston Martin one-77 Combined or something of that nature that could really put the XKR with a more futuristic look with a Bigger more powerful supercharged engine.Make the F-Type the camaro weaker cheaper sports car that can become the camaro of the Jaguar company, and let the XKR Hold the title as the Corvette high end sports car of the company or better yet,it could hold the title as the Dodge Viper of the company😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
They could have done that with the E-type decades ago. But Jaguar has a thing for changing up every 10+ years and they were using the XK marque since 1996.
@@malevolenceXXXensues well if that's the case,Their shouldn't be no such things as Camaros,Mustangs, corvettes, and M model BMW's.Also if they discontinue cars every 10yrs, that just means they need to get with the mustang, and the Camaro,M3,M5,M6 program then
Well every car brand does things differently besides we were talking about Jaguars, not Camaros or Mustangs or Corvettes, those cars are from companies with a completely different way of doing business from Jaguar. Jaguar's identity as a brand from what I have seen at least, is that they are trying to redefine themselves after every generation while keeping with a certain form or style. Keep in mind there were probably some people (most likely purists) that were mourning the end of the XJS line with it's big block V12 for the more sensible XK8 with jaguar's first fuel injected V8.
@@malevolenceXXXensues idk because other brands keeping a lot of their sport car names in production and it makes me think that Jaguar should start up this process too.
Well there is the XJ line but that car was seen as their main flagship vehicle they produce 1000's every year, but even that is being considered to being retired now.
@@minatormyth The origin of the word Jaguar is from South America where the native big cat is pronounced ha-gwar. That is very close to the American pronunciation jag-war. So I don’t know where the hell you brits come up with jag-yoo-ar.

As we all know, Jaguar faced BANKRUPTCY multiple times that it had to be rescued by foreign auto companies (Ford and then Tata Motors of India). Nokia Ghost Lexus is cheap, hipster, and all plastic, Mercedes is ok but all to common, same problem with bmw. While jaguar is rare like luxury cars should be,and have good looks.
The XK is head and shoulders better looking than the F-Type, period.
Couldn't have said it any better an every jag fan knows it 👏
I agree. I was torn between the XK and the F-Type. I purchased the XK Portfolio Coupe. It's more sleek and more of an everyday car. I love it ❤

F type is too boring, the XK was sexy, Jag is bringing it back in 2021 :) nice to see youre in ontario
Farrad Mohammed Bringing it back? How do you know? If only it were true!
The F-type is far from boring. It's more nimble and more sports car-oriented, whereas the XK is a true grand tourer with the amazing V8 rumble.
Fiero spotting at 0:51 in a Jaguar video. Big Fiero fan, building my 2nd one right now. Couldn't help but notice when I saw it.

least he didn't call it a jaguire
His pronunciation of Jaguar is correct because it's the American English variant. You are right, too, yours is British English.
Whats a Jagwar?? ...I have owned Jaguar but never a JAGWAR!!!
If you check the Longman Dictionary of contemporary English, you'll see that both pronunciation variants are correct.
